From what I've read, of both Varg's and Blackthorn's accounts, Euronymous was murdered on the steps. He came screaming out of his apartment in his underwear with minor knife wounds (Varg's knife was blunt), and Varg chased him. They ran past Blackthorn, who was waiting outside Euronymous's flat, and he was terrified. By the time Blackthorn got to the bottom of the stairs, the murder was done.

Even though it tends to be associated with the cold, I don't know if that enters into it. But at any rate yeah our black metal is pretty shitty and weak. We have a couple of good death metal and grind bands; but not really anything in the ways of black metal.

Sometimes, kvlt people can be somewhat conservative agains depressive and atmospherical black metal.
One thing that i find appealing in the finnish black metal is that it sounds more fierce and warrior like while norwegian sounds more cavernous and evil.

What do you think of his ambient stuff? I personally like it a lot, especially "Tomhet" and "Der Tod Wuotans". A sight I would love to see would be the Varg of today executing his screaming vocals.
The personalities of 90s black metal are another thing that make it so interesting to read about. It's strange to think that Mayhem played in Turkey of all places in 1990.
