How do I know what suits me the most? What skill set / character traits are needed for each field? Which one is hardest?
Backend or Frontend
gui -> webdev
cli -> backend
about as coarse as it can get
If you're not sure, you're either mediocre at both or have no experience in either.
Work on a project that has non-trivial demands for both backend and frontend and see which one frustrates you the most.
Or perhaps you could just tell me in words?
dont be stupid
Tell you what? That visual things are for creative people and algorithms are for thinking people? Because that's the obvious gist of it.
For anything more concrete you'll have to actually experience both for yourself.
christ, destiny looks so fucking frail
>node.js in backend
>js in frontend
>*tips*
What's the difference?
Choosing is for people too lazy to learn both.
This OP. You're most likely going to be more comfortable in one than the other, but just choose one then move to the other. You don't need to be a pro at both, but at least learn enough of both that you can do a simple project with them.
is his head photoshopped?
He's a small guy.
yes
Backend. Everything else is an app.
did you crush you data structures course? contemplate backend
else change your major to MIS and do frontend
>be me
>be front-end intern in medium large company
>surrounded by manchildren
>open space office
>trying to concentrate as much as possible
>shit is flying around office all the time because of menchildren think they're in Facebook or Google campus
>quit after 2 months
>back to my previous work as sysadmin
I'm doing back-end in my spare time in hope to one day get work in serious company filled with professionals and not hipsters with nerf guns.
Tits or ass?
hurr durr tell me in your own words
op is stupid
kill yourself for asking stupid questions
smaller
Holy shit programmers are so fucking autistic. I don't want to spend 100 hours into something to get an answer that could be answered in a paragraph by people who actually have experience in both. If someone would ask me what kind of skills you need for a CS degree I would have no problem to answer this, I certainly wouldn't say "LOL JUST WASTE 1 year of your life to find out yourself".
Kill yourselves fucking autists.
user, reread . Trips don't lie.
If you don't think your question was answered to its fullest, then Google is always at your services.
/thread
>new company hires me for front-end work
>entire app is a shit-heap of react/redux spaghetti code and every meme library you can possibly include
why is front-end so soul-crushing
