i ended up going with a ide to cf and used a sdcard adapter to get the same result since its mechanically compatiable and there isnt a chip processing it like with the sata to sdcard(more bandwidth)
its limited to the ata 133 interface obviously
anyways my laptop only has sata so im looking for something with atleast a 80MB+ read/write

the sdcard is pretty nice on my desktop though
it draws less energy than a 7200 rpm and its noiseless and doesnt produce heat(miniscule at most, hdd are probably 700x hot during peak use)
also vibration resistant
i dont have to worry about knocking into the tower and worry about the HDD skipping
read times are also way quicker (i use a modified debian that embedds in ram)

Mi+ and 2 cannon m batterys + charger. The mi+ repeater works but I need it only for one room so i never did test the range. It need a app and you just pick a network type the pass and it works.
