So is W10 better now? Supposedly the latest update gives you a bit more control over ads and privacy. Should I switch from W7?

>Supposedly the latest update gives you a bit more control over ads and privacy

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!

>omg microsoft put me into a generic pool of other profiles who replaced edge with firecucks!
>MUH PRIVACY!

lol kys Linux virgin

If you are worried about ads and privacy you should stick to win7. Or at least be prepared to use Spybot Anti-Beacon and remove the apps and redo all your privacy settings every time there's a minor update.

>lol kys Linux virgin

Stop posting mark, you are late to the party. This was discovered by actual security engineers when w10 was in preview in 2015

MS backported the telemetry shit to Win7. The updates that added it are included in every monthly rollup, you can't just disable those. You have to go and install all security patches manually from MS's website every month. If you miss one you get to go back and do the one you missed before doing the current one. Oh and make sure and pick the right (security-only) one, or else you'll get the telemetry updates.

Have fun!

>This was discovered by actual security engineers when w10 was in preview in 2015

Yeah and retards still think they can """disable""" all the spying! Hilarious!!!

>MS backported the telemetry shit to Win7

...which can be avoided easily. Also, you can install security-only updates which are still safe.

Don't get carried away. Sit on 8.1 and by the time it EOLs Windows 12 will be out.

>>...which can be avoided easily
you winfags said that about W10 telemetry too and you're approximately as wrong as you could possibly be, as was shown above.

The only solution here is to do what we've been telling you to do for years: stop using Windows.

>Should I switch from W7?
No. If anything latest build, 1703, made things even worse.

>you're approximately as wrong as you could possibly be, as was shown above

So, to be clear, I am only "approximately" wrong? Okay. Also, you haven't proven anything. All I see and hear about is Windows 10 bypassing every setting while no one has shown any evidence of Windows 7 being affected if you don't install 5-or-so updates (because it isn't).

Have fun!

So I can choose to send some data or all data?

>If you are worried about ads and privacy you should stick to win7.
Better yet just switch to Linux already. In less than 3 years W7 will be EOL and your choices will be Linux, W10, or ransomware.

been using windows 10 since preview builds and I've never had any issues with these so-called "ads"

you just turn them off and uninstall them and they've been gone forever

it's like complaining the dealership put a dealership sticker on your car, just take it dumb sticker off, I don't see what the big deal is

>I don't see what the big deal is

Idiots usually don't.

Kind of. Some policies in 1703 build are broken and don't modify the registry anymore, so they do nothing.

Win 10 bypasses the host file so you really have no privacy.

So you guys
you guys
you guys in your basements.
I'm not a viral marketer, I'm just going to randonly suggest, based on nothing, that you buy our er I mean their product.
What Do You Guys Think?

>been using windows 10 since preview builds and I've never had any issues with these so-called "ads"

You should kill yourself.

>not using a pfsense box to prevent unwanted data leaving your network

How fucking gnu are you? You own the hardware, learn to secure it or fuck off back to your babby OS.

>not using a pfsense box to prevent unwanted data leaving your network

How cute.
