I don't mind having more horizontal space for the names, but there's no need to have lines and lines and lines of text when a tooltip will compact it and make it look like not shit. So if someone wants to see the long-ass name, they can hover. If they don't, they don't have to.

This is only true for those with the screenspace to afford it. Mobile view or anything lower than laptop meme resolution is going to look bad otherwise. If you have a 1080p desktop the text won't be as truncated as much.

I am handing around in the #IRC on Rizon, do they usually go on there too? My strengths are in infrastructure not front end at all :(, it would be a super helpful bootstrap to have this for an indexer. I've been writing my db models now for everything and making a front end with Pyramid and Angular but this is a lot sexier. Also Pyramid's user management libs are there but sorta clunky

Nyaa died so we're solving the problems it had. Lack of transparency, openness and centralized.
Terminated by owner even before anyone had time to really grab all of nyaa as preparation for it going down.
Everyone scrambled to find some data from the old site, some cool people had partial crawls / mirrors and shared them. Various "archive" clients and websites were made by Sup Forums and other places. What you see now is what has been turned into full working successor sites and clients.
