They're decent in this area
Sony
microsoft
verizon
google
ea
holy shit basically just list every tech company in existence and it's cancer all the way down
Terrible here, every month they increase the price. They told me my bill was going to be 120-130 but it's 150 something.
They also have a monopoly in a lot of areas, and provide terrible service.
>verizon
They were shit a few years ago when they were fucking with netflix and youtube traffic, but these days they're good.
source: my monthly bill
Fair enough, I left them for Verizon FiOS about a decade ago because their Cable internet was so shit compared to Fiber from FiOS. But now FiOS only has 1gbps but comcast has 2gbps available, so i've been debating if I want to switch back.
Comcast's 2gbps service is fiber as well, not some shitty cable. So it's full 2gbps download and upload (actually 2.2gbps is what they provision)
>no amazon
They're pretty good mate.
ASUS
Mediacom is infinitely worse than Comcast.
How so?
I lived with Comcast for a decade and rarely ran into problems, and when I did, the customer service was (relatively) helpful.
I moved and am currently subletting an apartment. In a month with Mediacom:
>had to return two modems because they refused to work (landlord pays for the internet, so don't greentext >renting a modem at me)
>two extended outages in three weeks, not even weather related, the system just shit the bed
>tried to install an inordinate amount of bloatware when I "activated" the service
>shit speeds
>Pajeets on the customer service line who don't even try to hide the fact they are Pajeets
same
started with $120 for some stupid triple play bundle thing
then it's 150, call and complain. $130
6 months later, $170. call and complain. $150
why can't they just keep it simple?
also their customer support is the worst, having to call them is a nightmare
...
>paying for television
how is it the worst when you have nothing to compare it to?
better than DSL
>b-b-ut muh free market will fix it
...
crapplel
Fuck, I'm happy with my poor 10meg cable service. Could get faster (max available is 30 meg) but considering they'd charge me a lot for it and that just basic cable + the little so called fees is like $94 (Just cable TV, Net is like $46) I don't think so. Funny all my services (electric/water/sewer,etc) is all one monthly bill and the only one that is not unreasonable is my damn cable. Only other option for tv is like satellite which has it's own little problems.
>tv
>2017
memeing 2 hard
ATT user checking in, god damn does American internet fucking suck.
Step one
Dont be poor
Step two
Live somewhere with tech industry and good population density
>Comcast
>tech company
I bet you think Best Buy is a tech company too.
>comparing coax internet to fiber
Jesus fuck this thread this board is as bad as /fit/
((((((((((first 24 months))))))))))
Yeah on a 2 year contract.
Also it only goes up $20 more after that forever.
Or you can cancel and they'll call you back in a week and offer you the same price or even lower.
>faggots
>women
Google. Definitely Google.
I could be wrong, but I heard ((((they)))) were doing away with contracts.
I've never had a contract but the introductory offers are pretty standard
Worst tech corp?
>Largest corp
>Nearly 1Trillion worth
It ain't shit if you make money >:)
>2 gigabits
>now you can blow through your 1tb bandwidth limit in 10 minutes!
Apple, no doubt. Zero innovation, maximum profit.
The 2gbps plan has no data cap.
Besides none of Comcast plans have a data cap in this area.
this.
Worst place to work mate
I've heard mixed things on this. Why is it bad?
It's bad because if you're an unskilled manual laborer they expect you to do unskilled manual labor for extended hours in very hot working conditions.
It's honestly par for the course for that level of experience and training needed, anyone bitching about it just expects life to give them everything they want on a silver platter.
They literally treat employees like slaves. They try to make your life a living hell before you get your equity. They have a system where employees MUST rate others poorly unless they get placed on a performance improvement plan. And if you do rate someone else poorly, their life is hell. There aren't any perks, literally none. Everyone's on call with a pager. The office materials are lacking so they save money. People cry at their desks. If Bezos wants your boss to do something, everyone stops what they're doing and goes to it even if it's at night. Etc etc
Lol you realize half of that is obvious bullshit?
If you're going to disparage a company at least make it believable. If people were crying at their desks this shit would be making headline news.
You're obviously just salty your ass got fired, or you were too lazy for the amount of work they expected.
I worked in an AWS data center on night shift and that shit was great, only reason I stopped was I found a better job with a 10 minute commute instead of 90 minutes.
>t. Jeff Bezos
>If you're going to disparage a company at least make it believable. If people were crying at their desks this shit would be making headline news.
This is well known in the Amazon circle of employees
>You're obviously just salty your ass got fired, or you were too lazy for the amount of work they expected.
I actually bounced 2 years in because of a better offer and work environment
>I worked in an AWS data center on night shift and that shit was great, only reason I stopped was I found a better job with a 10 minute commute instead of 90 minutes.
So you're a Jeff Bezos cock sucker, nice to know
The only good thing is the entry level pay, but everything else is shit
>takes entry level job and expects it not to be shit
Seriously...are you like 20?
>149.99$/month for distance based """2gbit""""
I literally get that for 50$ here, oh you amerilards.
>distance based """2gbit""""
What do you mean by this?
It's GPON fiber as far as I'm aware. Meaning it can do 20km+
>I literally get that for 50$ here, oh you amerilards.
Where is your proof? He posted a screen shot of the price and the speed, you say you can get it for $50? Alright post the screenshot nigger.
Kek look at this europoor try and lie about his internet.
No one offers residential 2gbps besides comcast, and maybe some ISP in Seoul or Tokyo.
twc (now spectrum)
internet goes out for no good reason, modem resets and resets from their side dont work.
also they said if i wanted to get the faster internet, i had to get their triple play bundle shit.
>2 gbps
>1 TB monthly cap
What the fuck is the point? You'd burn through the cap in a fucking hour.
There is no monthly cap in the north east US at all for Comcast, and further, their 2gbps plan doesn't have a data cap even if you are in an area of the US where they normally would cap you.
It's a direct SFP+ connection into your house with 2.2gbps upload and download, what you do with it is up to you. They even give you a static IP address.
>north east US at all for Comcast
Fuck you nigger, they put a cap on me at the start of the year.
What state?
Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
Idaho
Illinois
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Michigan
Minnesota
Mississippi
Missouri
New Mexico
Western Ohio
Oregon
Tennessee
Texas
South Carolina
Utah
Southwest Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin
Most of the North east is absent.
>Michigan
...you think Michigan is the north east?
Is it in the north west?
It's called the mid west you fucking moron.
How underage are you?
He meant the ACTUAL north east. You know where all the cities are and population density is super high making a fiber network rollout affordable for the ISP.
I work at Amazon and it's honestly nothing like that. There's a lot of work, and I would be on an oncall rotation at any other company for what I do anyways that's just life in this industry now.
Considering my pay and RSU vesting, and all that I've learned here and how much weight the name holds on my resume for future employers it's honestly changed my life. No one at my office cries at their desk, nor have I see anything close to that in other branch offices either. It's a huge company user, your experience is very much based on your team or org because each section of the company makes their own decisions.
We joke about the NY Times article because, while there are clustered problem areas, Amazon and especially AWS is nothing like that.
Also after working here I can legitimately say there's nothing better than being a customer of Amazon too. Even at employee expense they will bend over backwards for their users (like you, who have obviously never worked there).
>timezone is Eastern
You're dumb.
you won OP
So fucking what?
North-east, Mid-west, South, South-west, and North-west are ALL well established regions in the US, commonly referred to by THOSE names.
I'm sorry you're an underage fucking moron, but jesus christ. You SHOULD know the regional areas AND their names of the united fucking states.
