We are already feeling the affects of those 100 years ago did user.
They didn't give a shit and now we have more and more violent weather events.
Climate change is a pretty good example of why we can't just leave things for the next generation to clean up. What we do in our generation will take two or three generations to recover from. It's just not a reasonable viewpoint.
