Are you using software that does not respect your freedom? If yes, why?

Are you using software that does not respect your freedom? If yes, why?

No.
In addition, the only "contrib" package installed on my system is virtualbox-5.1.

Yes, because it provides me with features and convenience that I desire more than "muh freedums".

Such as?

Compatibility and uninhibited access to software. I like my stuff to "just wurk"

yes because all the logic gates are general purpose

i'm bad

>He fell for muh freedom meme
Why do we need that when only terrorists benefit from that 'freedom'?

What software is that exactly?

>uninhibited access to software
You don't have the 1st freedom.

Yes
Google chrome, because other web browsers are pure shit or do not support video, flash, java or other things that I need.

Uninhibited access to software readily available to my OS.

Every single modern browser supports these though, including but not limited to firefox and chromium.

It seems that you are not willing to reply to my questions.

Yeah but firefox is not any better than chrome
chromium makes sense on linux, chrome is better on win.Chromium lacks support of many things that chrome does support, because of licensing issues.

It seems that you are not willing to listen to my answers. :^)

>Chromium lacks support of many things that chrome does support
Chromium does not lack any useful feature.

>Yeah but firefox is not any better than chrome
Sure it is.

If you want to go the chrome-y way you should use Chromium with the ungoogled patch.

I asked you many things that I received no anwsers to, such as for specific features where I received a very generic "compatibility" answer and a nonsensical "uninhibited access to software". Moreover I was not told what software these are when I asked.

Yes, because I'm not autistic. I use the Adobe suite almost daily.

This isn't specific, I don't have much experience with Linux but from my basic knowledge of the OS it's much less plug and play friendly than say Windows and MacOS. Also while "generic" compatibility is nonetheless a very valid reason for not leaning toward Linux.

>the OS it's much less plug and play friendly than say Windows and MacOS
My experience is different. I don't have to install the HP dirver for example in order to print something.

>Also while "generic" compatibility is nonetheless a very valid reason for not leaning toward Linux.
Unsure what this means.

How about software other than OSes and kernels?

I'm using Vivaldi.
Why does it have to be so fucking PERFECT? I shouldn't have installed it, but now it's too late, I lost to the botnet.

Steam is pretty convenient and it's easy to get cheap games for it.

Yes, because I actually do work. Trisquel is the best free has to offer and im not ok with only 10 packages that it has, its featureless and useless. Only usable for shitposting, even barely that.

>Anime
Hi.
Go to hell.

You can torrent free games.

>If your Wi-Fi hardware requires proprietary firmware drivers you should just get new hardware
No. That's asinine and idyllic. The hardware was designed to function with this firmware. Make your OS allow the easy installation of proprietary firmware drivers and I'll consider it. Don't Tell me to fuck off and get new hardware. That's not libre, that's not even Linux, that's the GNUherd nerfherding over some bantha poodoo.

What non-free software do you need?

...

I think you are confusing the terms firmware and driver.

What would happen if I installed Gentoo on a FAG?

There aren't always alternatives. Just because you can't fiddle with the fucking .ini in MAYA or AutoCAD doesn't mean you should use a RedGreen Duct Tape version made for laypeople by hobbyists.

Meh, doesn't matter. If some libre people tell me to get new hardware because their software can't make use of my hardware, it's not the hardware that is at fault.

>he doesn't know how drivers work
oh, wow

I will admit that I do not know about CAD software, that being said hobbyist software tends to be much, much better than non-free.

Does Opera browser count as non freedom

CHINA

Yes
It's also shitty

>that being said hobbyist software tends to be much, much better than non-free.
its the other way around, except for maybe programming tools
photoshop is better than gimp

I'm well aware of that, but having a manager for all your games and not having to depend on seeders are a plus.

does anime respect my freedom?

>its the other way around
Not true for 99% of software.
For example ffmpeg, youtube-dl and mpv against every non-free replacement.
Even gimp is superior to photoshop when exporting pngs because photoshop's DEFLATE compression has been broken for the few last aeons.

no
you can't even download the cells used to compose the animation
anime doesn't respect your freedom

Freedom is a meme

>Even gimp is superior to photoshop when exporting pngs
how about for what actually matters, you know, image creation and manipulation? some people do actual work on their computers instead of tinkering with applications they dont use and organizing their porn collection

>image creation and manipulation
>actually matters

>drawing
>actual work
lol

Yes, they contain no executable code.

>anime website

yeah I get paid for it, something linux users may be unfamilar with

why doesn't gimp simply start with single-windowed mode by default?
who the fuck even uses the default mode?

>using the smiley with a carat nose

How does not having an actual job feel?

>mad about anime on an anime imageboard

...

feels good
