I came to the same conclusion. That card from Asus costs 270 Euros. The 1070 costs 130 Euros more. I will get the 1060 and buy a new graphics card in two years.

The whole point is to put the shadows in VRAM to increase performance, which is does unless you have some ramlet pos gpu then you get massive stuttering.

Which games are those? The only modern game that can go above 3GB is GTA V if you put on super ultra max distance settings that don't really make much of a difference but strongly hurt fps and vram. Games these days pad their PC ports with a bunch of graphics settings that offer extremely marginal differences but often take a big fps hit.

Meanwhile the 1050 ti is not even in the same ballpark lol. 60$ is nothing compared to massive chasm in performance between the 1060 and 1050 ti, it's literally half a card and you dont even need a power socket for it.

It may be low in 2 years but for it works for every modern game I'm playing right now. I've not encountered a single game that uses more than 3gb of vram at 1080p. GTAV can use more than 3gb if you max out distance LOD but that also destroys fps and is totally pointless.

You're wrong buddy. Check out my system specs, I'm using the 3gb gtx 1060. Every single of those games (except res evil 7 which I don't own) I run at high or ultra settings at 1080p and easily 60fps. My 3gb of vram was no bottleneck at all.
The human eye cannot see past 1080p for a monitor in front of your face, tard. It's basically another meme like 144 hz refresh rate.
If you can catch it for $170 or less, then it's a decent enough purchase for a LAN rig or something that's not your primary system. It's still twice as fast as the 1050Ti, but the 3GB of VRAM will really hurt it as time goes on.
I'm planning on picking up a used one for $150. I wouldn't pay what they're asking on newegg.

Remember the GTX 670? a 400 bucks card, 420 for the one with more Vram.
Now the RX 470 the lowest mid performance card with a whopping price tag of 175 bucks destroys the 670 with about twice the performance, much less power consumption and better temperatures.
