Which one wins?

Emacs + Evil-Mode

emacs

...

>without vi/vim features, emacs is unusable shit that gives you carpal tunnel
Vim it is then.

>with vi/vim features, emacs is objectively better than vim with much better scripting and more flexibility
installing 1 extra plugin it is then

lazy bastard

people who actually have jobs use IDEs.

people who actually have good jobs use text editors

Visual Studio is unironically good. It's like the smalltalk refactoring browser grew up and got a huge pair of tits.

which an IDE has

Why not both? I use VSCode + vim plugin

I have used both and prefer vim.
If you use VS Code, you should compile it yourself because the official binaries are proprietary.

text editor != ide, retard

Not comparable
Vim is for scripting
VS is for programming

nah son macshax mode gonna take off

stop shilling

u fucking retarded? Some oft the biggest open-source projects are written with vim

vim cuz i have a job
everything else is masterbation

I only hire people who use Emacs.

If you are working on a position where it matters what text input tool you use then you are working on a position that will be outsourced in few years.

vim is not a language you fucking retard.

did i say written in vim?
no fkn retard learn to read nigga

Quads. Quads of lie

You kidding me right?

vim for text editing
vscode with vscode-vim for code editing

Visual Studio is an IDE. VIM is a text editor. Stop it.

I use vscode for anything webdev

I'm pretty sure OP is asking about VSCode.

V S C O D E
S
C
O
D
E

If OP is, then OP is using the wrong logo.
The purple logo is for Visual Studio whereas the blue logo is for VSCODE.

>luxurious car
versus
>piece of trash that can be made usable after spending 100 hours trying to get addons written by freetards work

>one editor that could be great if it weren't built on sand
>one meh tier editor
nobody, not even the user

looks pretty fucking purple to me

looks pretty fucking white to me

But it's blue on white, if you install it.

vs+vim plugin

it's actually dark grey

Sublime Text
>better performance than VS Code
>better UI than Vim
>not an electron app

>stalled development
>proprietary
>not gratis
>extension ecosystem already smaller than vscode's

Put ctrl to the left of space and thumb it. Much more comfy, or just get foot pedals.

I use VScode for my web dev shit on my personal laptop, but yeah any non-web dev work I do I use Komodo IDE.

Vim

Microsoft products are for cuckolds.

DELET THIS

Vim doesn't need a marketing firm to spam it all over the internet to gain adoption, VSCode does.

You're a naive consumerist cuck if you use VSCode.

>You're a naive consumerist cuck if you use VSCode.
Actually I rarely buy stuff and only keep the things I use. If I'm a consumerist then I'm a really, really shit one.

isn't terminix called tilix now?

>emacs foot pedal
Every time

I use vim.

Triggered

ed

yes, but it's gonna be called tix soon

I'm no programmer, but I use visual studio code.

Why? Shit I don't know it looks nice

Autist

The one where I can copy stuff with Control+C and paste it with Control+V

Emacs can easily be set up as a pseudo-IDE for different languages (with autocomplete, compilation, etc.). It's usually superior to actual IDEs.

People spend way too much time picking out their tools and platforms. Just start coding.

But it uses Lisp. Hardly anyone knows and wants to learn lisp.

While I almost exclusively use Emacs, I'm pretty sure Vim does most of the same shit. It's just personal preference. I'm more of a Lisp guy.

Also, if you can copy+paste from Stack Overflow you don't need to know any Lisp to configure the innards of the editor.

SUBLIME

: the editor

he can copy but he cannot paste

This, Apple knows what's up

Acme

it doesn't fit because it's wider than alt and how I can't even put it back where it belongs because something broke
thanks a lot
