What is it, even?

it's literally mpv but with a nice ui and way more features, why wouldn't you use it?

lhc70000.github.io/iina/

read the comment again you dumbass

why would i want to read your post more than once, one time was bad enough

Not him but mpv isn't "bare minimum". It's one of the most feature filled and technical video players you can get.

Devs don't get it. We don't need another video player, vlc is already perfect. What we need is a good MUSIC PLAYER. Vox is not as good as it should be.

since you obviously didn't comprehend the first time
OP is literally only talking about the GUI.

itunes is perfect, why would you need anything else?

How long has it been perfect ? Stopped using it 4 years ago

I'll give it a try, thanks. I'm using MPV currently, but I don't hate GUI's like a lot of people who use it seem to.

iTunes is hot garbage. I have an iMac and I uninstalled that shit the first week I had it. It still comes back after updates and it goes back into the trash can every time. I use cmus on all of my machines. It doesn't do anything that specifically pisses me off, it's light on resources, and it's easy to use.

it's literally the best player, apple only makes good software

That's incorrect. iOS is trash and most of their apps are too. iTunes is probably the most cancerous desktop app. Apple software and hardware has only gone downhill since about 2011.

How is iTunes bad exactly?

>Mac and Linux users can't use MadVR to produce upscales from 720p this nice

Every time I use the play/pause button on my headphones it'll open, then nag me to buy more music and sign in.

I too also like to watch my anime by still screenshots

>the play/pause button on my headphones
The best fix would be to get a proper pair of headphones.

miles are u watching gunbuster

Jesus fuck, this.
Lurk /hpg/ for at least a month.

I'm not an audiophool. Kill yourselves.

>I am willing to settle for inferior audio for no good reason at all

Gnome mpv?

You couldn't even squeeze 15GB on your hard drive and get the best encode of an anime this great? Too bad that player couldn't improve your shit taste.

>not using mpv

>vlc is already perfect
Except when you are trying to play video files of course.

>needing a pretty GEWIE to watch videos
what are you, 12?

idiot

That doesn't look like plain old mpv, but a version that got cancer.

...

>but a version that got cancer.
It is just a frontend...

Why do you need a frontend when mpv is already perfect?

>Why do you need a frontend when mpv is already perfect?
It has some additional features with require some scripting in mpv to do. And people are lazy.

>Anime
Hi.
Go to hell.

mpv looks like shit though

>nice ui
Bloat, when everything you need is a keybinding.
>way more features
mpv has all the features, even encoding.

>2017
>Needing subtitles

mpv works fine on every major OS

VLC is fine unless you're a faggot.

MPV doesn't even have a real UI, what the fuck are you even talking about?

>VLC is fine unless you're a faggot.
*unless you want to play video files...

>real UI
What does that mean in your world?

I mean the OSD buttons looks like shit.

It means something more than the bare minimum and the buttons look fine, they're as plain and inoffensive as humanely possible.

Probably because you should be watching the fucking video instead of jerking off at the buttons that appear when you're not just watching the video.

Video files play fine? The only people I see complaining about VLC are weeaboo autists.

>Videos play fine?
Woah, didn't know that blind people use Sup Forums.

>Video files play fine?
If you have an i7 and a 1080 they probably do.

I tried running both vlc and mpv on my netbook. VLC was a stuttering mess full of artifacts mpv didn't drop a single frame and played completely smooth.

>It means something more than the bare minimum and the buttons look fine, they're as plain and inoffensive as humanely possible.
Exactly, the defaults in mpv fail to live up to that.
They are large and grotesque.

The control of the UI is also bad.
There is 500 million ways to pause the video, but no good way to control the volume.

>having an OSD

>use mpc-hc
>don't actually give a single shit about the interface because if i'm watching something long I use fullscreen because I'm not an autist

>no good way to control the volume.
??????

>They are large and grotesque.
nigger what?
>but no good way to control the volume.
what the hell?

Obviously I didn't spend many hours configuring the player, but compared to vlc, the sound control is horrible.

There is literally nothing wrong with the standard sound controls.

When the sound only has "too loud" and "too silent" settings, I blame the controls.
VLC is much better in this regard.

>When the sound only has "too loud" and "too silent" settings, I blame the controls.
You can adjust them perfectly fine, what the fuck are you talking about?
The intervals are small enough.

This was the best player of all time.

I'm not sure you even know what MadVR is. OSX players have high quality outputs in the first place, and MPV has high quality OpenGL output and scalers so good they will hurt on an i5 if that's what you feel you need

>still can't hide the mouse cursor in fullscreen mode

Why would I waste my time finding the best encode of a cartoon from the 1980s? Are you serious?

Works for me
