Dark mode and wider Siri integration on both platforms.

>muh gentoo linux
>muh FOSS
piss off cunt.

Installed hackintosh. Yeah, it's ridiculous how much default shit rings home. But I solved these problems with Little Snitch and some effort configuring it to my liking and of course not using any Apple services (except App store when I need it).

Go suck Steve's rotting cock.

This year macOS will finally get bumped up to version 11, and the version number will increment by one whole number each subsequent year, like iOS.

Calling it.

I want iphone app notifications to sync with my mac ones ;_;

I've be been a Mac user for about 10 years and came to hate windows. Recently though my dependence on macs for development have waned and I've got increasingly unimpressed with the way the os is getting slower and less reliable without any useful new features. I'm already laptop shopping for a windows 10 machine because Linux is a pain in the ass

>tries to retaliate but has no ground
>sputters out some green text that isn't in the least offensive

Typical mac fag. Go enjoy your over priced intel shill boxes.

No reason you can't stick with yosemite forever. I don't think I could live without the dark theme though.

>hoping for in macOS 10.13
It wont break my current hackintosh setting.

Hopefully Apple do finally innovate for once and kill themselves live on stage. After that, the camera pans out from their new donut building and it explodes to millions of little bits.

Innovation.

Watch APFS become standard, it would break all hackintosh setups at least until clover gets updated

I completely forgot about APFS.
It seems they will migrate to APFS this year with 10.13 version.

>What are you expecting or hoping for in macOS 10.13
Them to drop the retarded name and go back to OS X

We're not even on sierra yet at work...

I hope they rename it OSX again, just to piss people off.

My wish is that macOS was still OSX and not a product of failed iOS devs.

Nothing they add has any value because it turns out my laptop isn't a phone. How bizarre.

did you use unibeast?

I cannot wait to see what tacky bullshit Apple pull this time and watch their sheep bleat about how it is actually useful and totally not a gimmick.

Le I'm really hoping Cookie will add a new le epic le app so I can track my epic le faggot nigger Bull so I can tell my boyfriend he's getting closer and to hurry up and prep the watermelon and purple drank le lolololol XD!!!!

Oh and I want compootas which are even more expensive and impossible to repair le XD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>No reason you can't stick with yosemite forever

There's this thing called planned obsolescence. Apple loves to butt fuck you guys with it.

Same here, my hackintosh T420 is pretty comfy and has survived direct updates since 10.12.1 without issues whatsoever.

How's the battery?

Why didn't you install it in a APFS partition? the sierra installer is able to do that...

I'd pay to see that. Just watch the whole empire of gay overpriced shit go up in flames whilst Cookie slits his wrists and cries how it's the fault of the patriarchy or some gay ass sjw shit.........Fuck, I'm semi hard just thinking about it.

All I'm really wondering is how Apple will execute the all-screen phone idea. Whether they've found a way to make all sensors work behind the display or not. They've patented this shit years ago but maybe making it commercially viable has finally happened.

An apology for putting siri on the desktop. Talking to your laptop? What the fuck.

>it's ok when microsoft does it

~6-7h of light usage on a 9-cell with 200 cycles, roughly the same as what i got on Windows.

No reason really but i don't remember disk utility having an APFS option back then when i installed macos.

>Hey Siri, show me donkey porn

When I was installing it on my friend's hackintosh I selected APFS on the disk utility, it works fine.

I'm expecting them to start funding brew since it's the only reason OS X is halfway usable.
$ /usr/bin/awk --version
awk version 20070501

wtf.

When Microsoft does what? I haven't used a Windows machine for at least five years.

What's the big deal? Not as if it's as intrusive and cumbersome as Whoretana.

Where do technology illiterate mactoddler subhumans get the false impression that they or their fruity toddler toys are welcome much less belong on a technology board?

Cortana.

I expect:
> Swift 4
> Xcode 9 with improved performance and fixed bugs
> iOS 11 with more iPad features
> MacOS officially supporting Vulkan

I don't have that option even now in 10.12.5, oh well.

>t. mactoddler

t. pajeet subhuman

>mactoddler
>calling anyone else subhuman

lmao

> AlphaGo and NASA using MacBooks
> calling them "t. mactodler"

Hello Mr. Nadella. No, you will never take a chunk of the premium market, focus on de-shitting your OS.

That's nice. The thing is, you can't trust fashion accessory garbage like Apple in outer space where lives are at stake.

> old shit on space
literally who cares?

This image could only have been made using a specific kind of autism.

macbook pro with a i9-7980X and 32gb ram.
$60

>Keynote
lol, keynote hype died with Steve Jobs. No one cares about Applel anymore.

> i9
> not Threadripper

>NASA prefers cheap durable throwaway shit to use @ space shuttles
rly makes u think

Now that's a HOT combination.

>NASA prefers non-overpriced, non fashion-accessory garbage that doesn't explode to use @ space shuttles
rly makes u think

>he never owned a macbook
>he keeps spouting memes about something he doesn't own
rly makes me think

Real life is on earth, and there, NASA and AlphaGo employees prefers Mac
see: now GTFO of my thread REEEE

They're gay not stupid.

>macbook pro with a i9-7980X and 32gb ram.

I don't need fashion-accessory garbage computers in order to feel good user. My sister had one and it was the most underwhelmingly boring device. It was what the word "meh" was invented for. You go ahead though and feel good about defending your fruit brand.

>garbage computers
Hmm sorry, I don't think "Macbook" is the correct name for the average 720p cheap plastic shit you see on the market.
Also, since it's her macbook that implies you barely even used it.

MacBook air with Kaby Lake.

>Also, since it's her macbook that implies you barely even used it.

Nah, I used it a few times when she got it and it was completely underwhelming. I really expected more. Y'see, I don't fall for the hype. I never did with Apple or any brand so I guess I don't have to justify my shitty purchase to anyone.

> air
it's kill user, now there's only that 12 inch core M bullshit

ios11
>complications on lock screen
>more robust reminders app
>more support for chinese support and services
>snapchat filters built into camera
>a camera filter app store
>snapchat filters built into facetime
>more emojis
>"groups" a new apple social media aggregator like news

macos 10.13
>apfs
>complications on lock screen
>messenger effects
>window snapping
>the news app

you know i'm right

Nobody cares mactoddler.

you can't possibly be this insecure

macOS:
>built-in window snapping
>an end to finder's overall bullshits
>APFS
>even better siri
>vulkan
>newer OpenGL

iOS:
>dashboard-like icon that shows all apps installed
>better widgets
>dual window mode like on android
>guest user

Nobody cares about katanas yet you have a collection of it.

>dual window mode like on android
Isn't that already a thing?

I WANT TO BELIEVE

only on ipads, the plus models of iphones should have it too.

>What are you expecting or hoping for in macOS 10.13
Just not break shit in my haswell-era hackintosh.

>>vulkan
never ever

>muh NASA
Hasn't done real work since their Defense Budget money dried up with the end of the cold war.

What are they up to know? Climate Change Research? LOL.

Apple hasn't been good since NeXT and Mac Classic.

a stealth black 17" macbook pro that costs $10,000

That would be nice. imessage/sms sync is so handy.

Plus all the other normie apps that force you to open your phone - tinder, snapchat etc.

HOLY SHIT IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!

Now if only we had USB support.

Unibeast is fine for making the USB stick but don't use Multibeast to install kexts, do it manually.

Where do technology illiterate appletoddler morons get the false impression that they or their fruity toddler toys are welcome much less belong on a technology board?

We do...

youtu.be/0wIiDnjz4X4?t=53m1s

53:01 mark, but listen to what starts at 53:12

This MIGHT bet the year iPad gets mouse and cursor support...

I use the adapter to connect 2 midi instruments, a sound card, and an ethernet adapter, while chargning it and powering the hub.

iPad Pro 9.7 is my main computer. There is no other device that can do everything I need it to do, in that size, without a fan, with the color-temp sensor display (true tone they call it), with quadrophonic speakers, with a 9 hour battery.

>I don't need fashion-accessory garbage computers

But Prakesh, I just saw you shilling the Surface Laptop in another thread, something which is a literal fashion accessory. Apple products aren't deliberate designed, they're extremely plain and functional in form. Microsoft's latest products however, enjoy your fucking fabric fancy keyboard.

>replying to asspained pajeet's copypasta

I expect nothing. These OSes are being used by technically illiterate consumers who not belong to this board. This board is people who are able to use Gentoo on a daily basis.

>Linux for build testing and webservers
>Day to day is on my mac

Feels good man. Fuck stallman

>t. mactoddler

Snapshot based backups thanks to APFS

what a pathetic website
kek

Frontend devs like Macs because they're not true engineers.

Compatibility with many lake so I can install OSX on my XPS 15.
Also is it the time for a new iPhone announcement ?
How are the chances that the 8 will have 3.5mm jack ?

Nothing surprising, it's natural for a technically illiterate user to call pathetic the lack of frills, bells and whistles on a website.

iPhone announcements are in early September, still a bit to go.

this is bate but I'll bite

Dunno if you lump mobile (iOS, Android) in with "frontend", but engineering there is still very much engineering, especially on the Apple side of the fence where you're working with Swift, Objective-C, plain C, C++, and a set of APIs that's deeper than the Mariana Trench (Cocoa). Depending on your personality, mobile work is potentially harder than backend work at times for a few reasons:

1) In addition to making the software work, you've gotta make it work for the users which takes a certain intuition regarding how people might interact with the app. Getting two computers talking is a waaay more straightforward task at times.

2) Larger resource limits. You can't just spin up another S3 instance or upgrade to a bigger box – you've got to aim for the lowest common denominator, which depending on your market may be a 4+ year old phone that's anemic on RAM and CPU power. You also can't really rely on a strong, stable internet connection.

(cont)
3) Little control over the environment. On the backend, you have a tight grip on everything down to the OS and the hardware. You can (probably) assume that'll be properly secured and maintained. These assumptions do not hold with mobile dev because users notoriously do stupid and crazy shit their phones. No matter how well you've covered your app with unit tests and UI tests and QA cycles, users *will* break your app, and there will be times where figuring out what the hell is going on will be next to impossible.

I how they bring back Steve Jobs :DDD
