hard drives. And why are you saying something retarded like what your downstream speed is when you imply you were thinking about cloud backups with your pic.

>hard drives
Yeah, I know that.
I want the best method to get all of that data onto the backup drives.
Should I build another server? Should I use a hard drive dock and rsync to each one?
>imply you were thinking about cloud backups with your pic
pic isn't completely related.
Someone on twitter uploaded their entire porn collection to Amazon drive. It costs Amazon something like 50 thousand a month to maintain his porn collection

holy shit, we have 8TB hard drives now!
Fuck, I just need to buy 2 and I'm good

>I want the best method to get all of that data onto the backup drives.
I use a USB SATA dock and StarWind VSAN VTL to present them as virtual tapes to Veeam Backup and Replication

There are bigger disks than 8tb

Why would you need to back up 20tb of stuff which is available on torrents anyway?
>There are bigger disks than 8tb
They are not cost effective. Even 8tb drives are not always the best option. E.g 6x4tb in raid6 wil be better than 3x8tb raid5.

>shit internet
>25mpbs down
that's pretty standard. mine is 8 so don't talk about your "shit" connection

>trusting amazon drive to back up your files

Sauce/link on the 50 thousand story?

I'm still using a 250GB SSD and two 300GB 10K RPM drives from 2007.

And we wuz bettah for it.

>americucks actually think

lmao, what about 900 kb down?

>europeans think it's okay to allow historic and present day wartime enemies into their ancestral homeland to destroy everything

what if muslims realize the only point of pride europe has left is internet speed, and starts targeting network infrastructure

Canuck here.. on a good day it's 7.7Mbps, that's maxed out. It's normal for it to drop into the 4~5Mbps area, and once it goes under 3Mbps for 2+ days I call my ISP to kick their server a couple times to get it back too 7.7Mbps.
I know these feels all to well.
The only upside is I have an unlimited data cap & sub-10ms ping. It's a hybrid FiOp-Copper line.

well, they have to go somewhere because big boy USA has systematically destroyed their homeland in its oil wars, to the point that it's impossible to live there

so you can either let them in, or kill them all - I know you'd like to say "just shoot 'em all" since you're an edgy fellow, but that's not really politically viable

Thanks doc.

>Europeans blaming America for refugees
>Never mention they were coalition members in both the Iraq and Afghan wars

Tow the boats back ya dense cunt. Publicly hang the traffickers, resettle the refugees where they came from.

Land routes just need a barrier, such as the one which has effectively halted flow into Hungary.

Finally, if you made it clear migrants arriving would receive no aid or financial help whatsoever unless a GENUINE asylum application was ACCEPTED, you would eliminate the pull factor. There's migrants coming into Europe from countries that aren't at war. And you allow that.

>tfw shit upload
Makes streaming plex painful when I'm away from home

>tow all the boats back
with what money? that would cost hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars, if it's even possible

>eliminate the pull factor
the pull factor is negligible compared to the "push" factor i.e. the homelands of the refugees are wartorn and essentially uninhabitable - refugees don't come to europe etc. because they have mediocre lives back home, they come because they literally cannot have lives back home

I'm not saying that having shitloads of refugees is good, but you haven't offered any viable solution

>It would cost hundreds of billions of dollars to use existing naval ships to tug rafts back to libya
lmao

>the homelands of refugees are wartorn and uninhabitable
The majority of migrants are currently from Syria, and they have an argument for asylum (even if Saudi Arabia should be using it's millions-capacity Hajji tent cities to house them). However, many thousands are from countries that haven't been war torn in decades, like Albania, Pakistan and Nigeria. Note these are 2015 numbers, so it's slightly skewed Syria-heavy.

>You haven't offered a viable solution
It's not our fucking problem, tow the boats back and fix your own countries.

>20TB
I haven't done it myself but if I were to create a backup for 20TB I'd get a 8-bay box and RAID1 8x8TB hard drives, net storage cap would be 32TB.

8 8 8 8 x 8 8 8 8

If you don't need so much, just replace 6 of those 8TB hard drives with 4TB ones, so you can make 2x8TB + 6x4TB RAID1 combo, exactly 20TB net storage cap.

8 4 4 4 x 8 4 4 4

You can upgrade gradually when you need more space later.
About the costs, it's not cheap but at least it's safe. In total I imagine it would be almost 1k USD, the 8-bay box alone would cost more or less 300 USD. The hard drives the prices from ali and ebay are in average 100 for a 4TB and around 200 for 8TB.
