I try to only update monthly but I'm still a recovering Arch faggot and can't help but check for updates weekly.
arch
every couple of days, or when i install something
it only takes a few seconds to check
WIndows 8.1
I check this every month and wait to see if they aren't botched support.microsoft.com
Ubuntu. Every six months, security updates are automatically installed
arch, gnome notifies me when updates are avalible so i install them like 2-3 times a day
Gentoo
Once a week, unless I want to install something. Then I update before I install.
Debian 8

Windows 10
Always
>win 8.1pro, 10pro, 2016datacenter, 2012r2datacenter
>whenever i can be bothered to approve updates on my WSUS server.
Win 10 - as needed
OS X - as needed
I don't get the "ur durr no updates" behavior, sup with that? fear malicious updates?
Win 7.
Never.
Not even once.
I haven't even a key in it.
did this for like 2 years but newer nvidia drivers require sp1 so i had to update
How the fuck do I have a 1060 then?
Mind you I'm unaware if the disk I used had updates already. Because it seems no one ever updates the original product, and requires every patch from day one to be installed online despite them being able to change the disk you buy. .
Arch
Every weekend
>Archlinux
>pacman -Syyu --force
>systemd.timer unit with 5 minute trigger
idk, i have a 970 and after an nvidia update some time ago i had a windows error on boot and no aero, games worked fine tho but the popup on every boot got annoying so i googled it and turns out i needed sp1 so i updated
oh and yes, later windows 7 discs had sp1 included
You can turn the popups off and everything else, even have a wallpaper without the key.
Unless you're talking about an unrelated popup.
Linux Mint
Whenever the green icon turns blue
wew
GNU/Linux
Arch is rolling release, so I get updates as soon as they come out.
Windows 10 I just leave and it keeps itself up to date.
My FreeBSD server I run updates weekly.
debian sid

Hell yeah homie.
Gentoo GNU/Linux
Every day. Both my desktop and home server
>Debian 9
>Every day when I login to my computer
Arch
Every day through an auto update systemd timer.
No problems for about a year now.
