Ehm, so, I need to upgrade my graphics card.. I was looking for the Rx4xx series but, they are valued like double of the original.
Any advice? Maybe were I can get a used one?
100-150eurooo
Preferably AMD.

>Preferably AMD.

To bad miners got em.

You might get lucky with a 560 tho. Your alternative is a 1050ti which is just as good and considering euro pricing probably more $/perf efficient.

go with rx 580/570
for casual gaming profile rx560 / gtx1050ti would be nice

Could that hold up for about 2years?
I have a 7790, and it holder up for a long time!
Is the one you suggested dx12 compatible?

Aren't older cards more cheap now? I tought I could get a deal off..
Well thanks for your suggestion I hope you appreciate your (You)

Just get a 1060, they are all gone.

I've got a Sapphire RX 480 8gb. Haven't been really reading up on the state of the GPU market since I bought my card in December. Decided to have a little look out of boredom and my card is literally unavailable from almost every retailer and eBay sellers are listing it for around £100 more than what I paid for it 6 months ago. Wtf has happened??

480s and 580s are very efficient options for mining.

tons of people selling their 480/580 and buying 1070s with it

Why not buy last gen tech?

this user is right in general, but gtx1050ti outperforms rx560 4gb in every game. But you know, fine wine etc. But hey, normal 1050ti with couple of fans and bit oc like gigabyte start at 150 youros, wile rx560 is on average 20 bucks cheaper.
It's a decent way to get by until 570/580 are back in stock, or new midrange amd gpus are released.

cryptominers from all over the world. And early adopters of best midrange gpus in last couple of years.

I went with 560 myself, since it was cheaper than a 1050ti. I know Nvidia is better at hamming, but at least I won't get driver gimping, and instead get driver improvement.

>get rx560 with good aftermarket cooler for like 120 euros
>every shitty esports game 1080p 60+ fps
>every aaa title 40-60 fps 1080 medium-high settings
>will get better with time because amd
>cheaper than gtx1050ti, althouhg weaker at this point
dunno, If you are not a hardcore graphics whore, the choice is obvious

Thanks, but the thing is, will it last atlet 2 years or more? My 7790 can play tekken 60fps 720p on low.
As I said graphics is unimportant for me, I just need to run the games properly(60fps)

Christ, what if vega is even better for mining. I don't want to pay Titan XP prices for 1070 (or worse) performance.

>1070 (or worse) performance.
Source: My ass.

1050ti or rx560

AMD needs to do something about this, I was planning to upgrade my GCN 1 card for Vega (or at least Polaris) this summer for RadV, once the DC stuff gets merged.

>1070
Even Fury X at 1600mhz shits on 1080. And Vega is not Fury X.

You're not going to get a used RX 4xx card any time soon. The RX 570 and 580 are just re-branded 470's and 480's with higher clocks and higher power consumption. Those who bought those cards have absolutely zero reason to upgrade to 5xx and aren't going to replace them with nvidia cards any time soon either.

AMD will release their top of the line VEGA cards pretty soon and mid-range VEGA cards 4-5 months after that. If you're willing to wait that long then you'll highly likely be able to get a used RX 4xx when people and miners start upgrading to those.

"older" cards? You can get a Radeon 7850 pretty cheap if you want one but you'll be looking at the performance of a RX 560 at twice the power consumption. If you don't mind that then you'll probably be able to pic up a card from that area for cheap. Perhaps even a RX 290 housefire if you're lucky. The RX 4xx series isn't "old" yet, it's basically the same generation as the 5xx cards.

I just sold my sapphire nitro 480 8gb for $450 on ebay and am upgrading to a 1080 now, stupid miners

Just get a 1060

yeah, this will be the situation until/unless the eth and zec bubbles pop.

It really isn't that strange, that these crypto bubble prices it's profitable even with older cards.

Just checked a few of the local webshops, they don't have a single RX 470, 480 or 570 or 580 in stock. You can buy the 550 or the 460 and they also have some R9 380X's.

Too bad nvidia cards can't compute.

>gamers don't buy AMD cards
>cryptominers strip the entire stock in a week
>"OMG WTF WEHRE AR MY AMD CARDS FUCK U IM BUYIN NVIDYA"

I just sold my RX 470 4GB for $300. I bought an MSI GTX 1060 6 GB Gaming X card, which will be here this Monday.

Same with Vega. Everyone waits for Vega, no one will buy it, like no one bought Evergreen.

Pretty decent upgrade, probably could have gotten a used 1070 for that price though

RX560 is +/- a 7970 which is like 3.5-5x better than the 7790.

I'm buying it if it's good. If it's not I'm just buying a 1080ti or 1080.

Just buy novideo and support monopoly.

I'm hoping Vega kicks ass, but I bought a 4k monitor and hope to get some use out of it. I already bought an 1800x and I'm very happy with it especially with Linux VMs and video editing.

You need to buy NVIDIA. Support monopoly.

AMD should'nt even make the card for gaymers, those fags still bought Fermi instead of the better option

I don't think that holds up. My 280 (7950) still routinely scores in benchmarks more similarly to the 1050 or 1050ti while the 560 is slower.
AMD actually has a pretty big gap right now between the 560 and the 570.

Perhaps, if I decided to spend the time bidding.
I don't really mind though, as I only game at 1080p, and I also wanted to get a replacement fast. That 1060 that I got comes out to $250, after a $20 mail in rebate, so I like the small profit that I made on the side.

how'd I do?

Yeah it depends.
Its compute performance is lower than the 7970 but ROPs performance around the same iirc. And deals with tessellation better. Better in some ways, worse in others. Those benchmarks often use heavy screenspace compute effects, so yeah it'll do worse than the 7970 there.
It mines the same on less power, too.

alright niggers wahts the best 1070 to get. I was looking into a 1070 hybrid but if they run cool enough i dont see the point of it
