It's great, and especially so for those new to Linux, though you may want to consider going with Mint instead because of the lack of corporate bullshit involved. Also you're allowed to be much more candid on the Mint forums than the Ubuntu forums. Any criticism of Canonical or their partners will get you silenced on the Ubuntu forums, whereas you can say what you like in Mint.
