Currently the best bang-for-the-buck android phone out right now is the Oneplus 3T for $400 and S5 Active for $200.

Also Samshit phones come preloaded with bloatware and lag but this can easily be fixed by disabling/uninstalling bloatware, installing nova, and changing animation speeds in android in nova. Oneplus phones don't have this issue though.
