I run a VPN provider. What can I do to separate myself from the competition?
Basically up to scale with major providers as far as features go, and I undercut the fuck out of them.
What kind of tech can I implement to set my company out from the rest?
Jace Barnes
It's less about tech and more about the (perceived / potential) user experience. Make sure you know your paranoid users and market yourself accordingly.
Julian Jones
Support anonymous payment options (cryptocurrencies, gift cards, cash in the mail, etc)
Jacob Gomez
Keep changing out IPs so that I can shitpost on Sup Forums.
William Evans
Yeah we have pretty much standard UX
Braindead walk through of apps a child could use for all platforms
I'm just thinking there has to be some sort of tech I could rebrand? Lots of providers use double encryption, kill switch etc and rebrand it as something else to appeal to users. Would prefer to have something "new" since we have all those features anyways.
Mid-way through coding bitcoin checkout, had it before but recoded everything.
Just using dedicated IP's right now, cheaper and less of a headache
Owen Ortiz
Kill yourself and stop scamming people.
John Bell
I'm not scamming, i'm providing a service that is actually useful to some people. PS I set up the whole fucking infrastructure myself and we don't log shit, really. You would be surprised how personal and loyal some of my customers are.
Ethan Myers
So what you gonna do when someone uses your service for illegal activity?
Evan Cook
Ban them, send the very little data I have stored to authorities if required to. Trigger my warrant canary if warranted.
>inb4 op is liable stfu
Tyler Cox
>Ban them How would you ban them?
>very little data I have stored If you can identify that user for a ban that you store enough data.
"We don't log shit", my ass.
Bentley Nelson
>*then you
Samuel Gutierrez
Whats the name of your vpn so i can support you
Easton Green
How you gonna send data when you dont log, my man?
Julian Thomas
Stupid kike BTFO. All VPN services are a scam.
Isaiah Wright
China here. The chinese government are cracking down on VPNs - rebrand the whole thing so that users have deniability when talking to police. Allow payment through chinese cards, if your website is blocked here, make another for chinese users (most Chinese ones do already). You could also offer to block ads on your end.
Chase Wright
hello china
Parker Young
Ni hao, motherfucker.
Anthony Diaz
Just use a VPS.
Logan Ward
Too easy to block.
Matthew Flores
Why would they block it?
Mason Adams
Because it's illegal to circumvent the Great Firewall. Technically.
Kayden Hill
Just host some shitty Wordpress blog about China. There, you have a legit use for a VPS now.
Landon Morales
>becoming a journalist in a communist country I seriously hope you guys don't do this.
Gabriel Watson
>a journalist >wordpress blog lol
Tyler Torres
>2001+16
Isaac James
>Google "Chinese blogger arrested" Oh no wait, google is blocked here.
We don't murder bloggers like the Russians, but it's still not a great idea.
Caleb Bailey
You do know that nobody forces you to criticize China, don't you?
Charles Davis
You don't have to criticise China. The state is still worried about anyone publishing information who isn't controlled by the state. They'll harass you, ban you, and make it difficult for you to work.
If this shitty wordpress blog is just a cover for circumventing the firewall, they'll investigate you and catch you anyway. This is why we need you, VPNman, to do all the crime so we don't have to.
Carson Cook
Make a hello kitty and hot wheels version to teach kids how to defend themselves from early age on
Juan Allen
Maybe at option that let's you use locally (to you) cached files for commonly accessed files / pages so they are served faster.
Dominic Howard
Pretend you helped refugees
Lincoln Murphy
VPS is pretty fucking expensive compare to VPN desu
Oliver Gray
What are you talking about? VPS is significantly cheaper.
Cameron Jones
make your site work with plain html and css
dont force javascript for signup or to view basic information
Josiah Sanders
create multiple subsidiary brands repackaging your service for different target demos
e.g., one that targets people who use vpns to circumvent regional content restrictions, another for people who are super paranoid, etc.
Kayden Ramirez
Stop giving that kike free advice.
Owen Rodriguez
Make sure you don't disclose your users data to anyone, include that in your T&C's under no circumstances. We need VPN providers we can trust nowadays.
Bentley Foster
you should offer a unique static ip for an extra buck or so this is a feature im looking for at least
Robert Morales
>significantly i havent found not one single vps that offers unlimited bandwidth (or at least 10TB+ a month) for less than $5 a month and doesnt kick you off for torrenting
Hudson Jones
...
Christopher Mitchell
useful for private trackers and "safely" relaying traffic to home servers
John Evans
>unlimited bandwidth Most of them cap it, not disable your service. My VPS caps it at 100 mbps.
>doesnt kick you off for torrenting Romania..
Zachary Gomez
i dont mean port speed i mean bandwidth i transfer over 6TB of data a month and all vps services i've found that are cheaper than a vpn alternative limit bandwidth to 1-2TB a month or significantly limits speeds after a couple of TB
Austin Ramirez
...
Isaiah Sullivan
which host? also server locations?
Kevin Bell
Be cheap. Let's not kid ourselves, everyone looking for a VPN goes for the cheapest possible option that looks remotely safe.
Carter Morgan
why would I use your service when I can buy a cheap vpn and setup my vpn server?
Brayden Nelson
Hostmaze, Romania. >WE ALLOW: IRC Servers, VPNs, Tunneling (GRE), Torrents and Adult content (except Child Pornography). /all ports are unlocked.
Caleb Taylor
plausible deniability
Mason Barnes
thx
Joshua Reyes
If you're going to do crime buy a SSH.
Luis Torres
How about private stealth vpns? Individual vm and fixed ip for every user, shadowsocks or openvpn over shadowsocks or openvpn over stunnel to bypass GFW and fake (mirrored) website with legit domain name and TLS cert to fool corporate IT guys. Full ssh access to a vm and small storage (10-50gb via sftp) will be nice too.
>i havent found not one single vps that offers unlimited bandwidth (or at least 10TB+ a month) for less than $5 a month and doesnt kick you off for torrenting Try harder. >300mbit (100+mbit all day long when used as vpn), 8tb cap, 1tb of storage for 4eur
David James
>buy a SSH wat (꒪▿꒪)
Jason Cox
Suck a nigger dick
Gavin Murphy
I don't know shit about vpns but i use one (cisco anyconnect is the provider) in order to work from home sometimes and the one problem i have with it is that once I connect I am unable to disconnect/reconnect without a full restart.
Hunter Clark
NAT VPS gives you plausible deniability.
Jaxson Nelson
Implying I will tell fuckers on this board which VPN proviider I use so they can fuck up the bandwith by downloading weeb movies or worse, blacklisting them with their CP shit.
Aaron Fisher
Is there static port forwarding?
Need VPN for my QNAP NAS running torrents.
Michael Taylor
Why this all hoopla over VPN?
Are VPNs meant for "paranoids" & for those suffering from known or lesser known Mental sickness?
Why would BIG-BROTHER watch over the novice Netizens?
By falling for 'VPN trap'....one is sure to hand over the 'Spying pass' to the VPN service provider!
Too tired of VPN-less scare mongering! Whufff...!
Jackson Gonzalez
I'll still use ProtonVPN though.
Liam Foster
Basically a hacked PC. No clue why is it called a SSH.
Angel Richardson
NON SHIT SOFTWARE
every fucking VPN provider has straight shit software
