Is it legit Sup Forums?
Is it a possible ad-free browser for phones without root+adblock

FX Mobile + µBlock.

Brave works much better as an ad-free experience browsing experience. Firefox mobile + ublock does too but firefox mobile is hideous and slow as shit much like the desktop ver.
Focus is for single tab porn viewing.

What this user said.

I've been using Firefox with uBlock for a long time and it works fantastically.

There was a thread yesterday saying FFF sends telemetry to a big data company called adapt or something like that, so no.

i use chromium: f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=chromium&fdid=chromiumupdater.bamless.com.chromiumsweupdater
- no google botnet
- normal chrome interface
- built-in adblock, force https, firewall etc.
- optimized for snapdragon
i'm really liking it so far.

chromiu has botnet you fucking tool

They sell your data to Adjust GmbH:
deutschlandfunk.de/anti-tracking-software-mozilla-klar-saugt-daten-ab.684.de.html?dram:article_id=378712
>Personal data is collected and sent directly. In the case of Firefox Klar it doesn't go to Mozilla, but to Adjust. Adjust GmbH gets personal, non-anonymized data. Even Firefox developers couldn't explain to me why the data in the case of Firefox Klar doesn't go directly to a Mozilla Foundation server.

Just turn it off. I think I'll use it for linking from apps. It's too bare bones for regular use. I used brave unironically and like it.

>Just turn it off
Good one.

bleepingcomputer.com/news/software/mozilla-denies-report-that-firefox-focus-collects-private-user-data/
Here is the link. Mozilla confirmed Google 2.0.

Where are ads in Opera? Legit question, I don't see any when browsing.

It's open source. If it doesn't stop sending telemetry when you deactivate it, prove it. Otherwise fuck off with your passive-aggresive non-arguments.

Enjoy being sold.

Yeah, it's called an iPhone. iPhone supports adblocking on the OS level and they also use machine learning to stop tracking sites from following you around.

It sends information on install, so assuming it behaves, there's no way to turn that initially telemetry off, and that involves identifier information, so it's not a trivial small deal.

>Adjust GmbH gets personal, non-anonymized data.

JUST FUCK MY BROWSER UP

> (OP)
>iPhone supports adblocking on the OS level
Bullshit. iOS only blocks ads for Safari. Everything else still has ads.

On Android we have a hosts file.

And for those without root, they're are things like the open source dns66. If there's one thing the iPhone does not have an advantage over Android in, it's blocking ads. I say this as a heavy user of both platforms.

I also use both, but I personally hate the iPhone. There are way too many things that I find infuriating about it, but the most annoying things are iTunes dependency and inability to install things outside store.

Can't find it in fdroid. Or on their website for a single apk download.

There's no reason for you not to have root and adblock.

Why should I use this instead of lightning browser?

It's a decent browser with a niche use case. A better option for regular use would be Brave browser. Now if only it had the same clean UI as Focus it would be fucking perfect.

Whats Sup Forumss thoughts on adgaurd for samgsung browser?

Why isn't there a FF Mobile autist fork like Palememe?

Brave is not open source tho

It's closed source and uses more battery than the alternative. Try dns66 from fdroid.

It's a fucking re skinned chrome. Even Firefox understood that Gecko is useless Wtf

Also doesn't let you take screen shots

>Cant even watch fullscreen videos

Into the trash it goes

Its more concerning that an app can prevent you from taking a screenshot, this DRM madness is going tol far.

you need to turn off stealth mode to take screenshots

Use brave.

firefox has already an adblocker on mobile without rooting for a very long time.

It says they DON'T collect anything

It can't prevent you from recording :^)

Ice cat mobile

Focus is way faster

>ad-free

>Snapdragon devices
Into the trash it goes

Should I use Brave or Focus on a 2014 samsung ?

It's reskinned Safari actually. This was already known, it uses the same webkit that Safari on iOS uses because it comes from iOS where webkit is the only thing allowed. There's some pros and cons to this. Webkit has a smaller and less complex codebase that is easier to work with and embed in other applications compared to Gecko and it's a bit faster at handling CSS rules. The downsides are that Apple's webkit kinda sucks at javascript performance and its not very compliant with various web standards.

Focus. It works great on my S4.

I can't even get on Sup Forums without the fucking thing crashing.

Focus doesn't have tabbed browsing or extensions does it? I want both of those things so unfortunately I'm stuck with firefox mobile

>adblock without root.
install dns66

Can't you get the .apk, turn on airplane mode before installing it, change settings?

Update: this worked for me (I use yalp store to get apps)

>firefox focus claims to prevent tracking
>uses a unique useragent that is uniquely identifying
>doesn't seem to block ads the #1 source of tracking

Literally fucking useless just use firefox mobile with ublock origin or use anything with some kind of hosts file

Yeah why doesn't it just use the chrome user-agent for one less fingerprinting variable.

It would be better to identify as Safari because it's more accurate and would ensure that Focus users don't get incorrectly formatted websites.

Sure it's "legit" but you're better off using Firefox + uBlock Origin.

>no google botnet
Yeah right…
Maybe 90 out of 100 botnets, sure, but don't kid yourself…

>iPhone supports adblocking on the OS level
Actually it doesn't.
Don't get me wrong, content blockers are GREAT. They're easy to setup and they're highly efficient.
But unfortunately they only work inside of Safari (or apps using the Safari Mobile View thingy).

Try opening some shitty ad-ridden free game or something – it'll still display ads.

Who uses a mobile browser for Sup Forums? Just get clover.

>using a broken app

Idk it works fine for me

Focus is not supposed to be a full browser, just a light, small browser to open links sent in emails and social media such without cluttering your real browser with cookies and shit. That's why it doesn't have tabs or extensions and it's settings only allows to toggle cookies, trackers and ads.
I think it should change the default user agent to Chrome (not Safari in an iPhone since an iPhone with a 1080p+ screen, different fonts and different HTML5 options enabled would be easier to track) and a ON/OFF toggle for JavaScript.
I was talking about Firefox Focus, not Brave.

it's clearly KHTML
