Anyone else doesn't want to spend 150 bucks for an ipod, but hates the way you can't adequately search for music on your USB stickon your car stereo?
I have no clue how my car formats or reads or organizes the files.
I have them in neat folder but they don't sort on the radio alphabetically
Carson Carter
use drive sort m8
Carter Ortiz
Why not buy an old iPod for pocket change?
Henry Campbell
this is actually not a bad idea,
Leo Jenkins
>tfw my car stereo can only read up to 999 mp3 files
Elijah Foster
got this 30€ radio for my mom, takes USB sticks and has a front aux port
no more burning CDs, hopefully
Colton Fisher
I have a stock radio in my 2017 altima
am I fucked at 999 too?
Kevin Perez
I got this Roidmi 2 bluetooth fm transmitter thingie because my car is all optical cables and future shit from 2004, impossible (or really expensive) to mod or replace the stereo fucking hell
Oliver Young
Yeah I bought a pioneer radio myself, it took a while to get my USB organized correctly so it would play everything. Had to literally convert everything to MP3 and then sort everything by album rather than artist > album >songs, worse part is it doesn't name the album when quick scrolling
Luke King
Buy a new head-unit.
There are cheap ones that'll read your ipod.
Pic-Related is what I have.
Wyatt King
oh that sucks, I think mine uses folder names, not sure only tried briefly to test it out
Nathaniel Peterson
My Sony one can hold up to 512 songs per-folder, which it counts as an album I assume. And up to 65535 songs I believe? That or 65535 albums, uncertain. Obvious reasons for those numbers...
I just dump all my music into folders numbered 0 through X and separate them by 512 each folder. Using shuffle by track and this works fine.
Xavier Young
It probably orders them based on file modification time.
William Robinson
Finding out cheap head unit for $50, $30+ converter cable to fit into whole mess cabling my car exclude some bracket to fitting radio steering wheel control antenna etc... Fml , fm transmitter for me then?
Grayson Roberts
Exactly, at least 100€ in extra cables, adapters and a big mess, if you can even find these parts for a 2004 car that was never popular for its audio equipment and stuff.
Could replace the whole car's stereo equipment for like... 600€. Not worth it at this point. FM transmitter was $15 off ebay.
Jayden Nelson
Why would you do this to yourself?
Cameron Adams
Just plug in your phone bro. Route an AUX in the dashboard and you're golden.
William Moore
>tfw car head units are doomed to look like RGB ricer crap like these I want to get off this ride
Samuel Cox
>tfw fm transmitter is best option because I don't want to buy and install a new auxillary input capable radio/pay someone else to install it
Jayden Bennett
I wired in an aux to the xm feed on a 10 year old car
It reads whatever is plugged in, no bullshit. All it cost me was a long 3.5mm cable I had lying around.
I have a dedicated modified ipod lying around with a 256gb ssd and a tethered Nexus 5 if I want to stream something
This was the cheapest and most effective setup out of all the bullshit out there.
Elijah Lee
it's easy though
the interference on the fm transmitter makes it a shit option imo
