Alright Sup Forums be honest

alright Sup Forums be honest,
do you guys really use linux as a daily driver?
aren't your guys larping with your silly little screenfetches with a virtual machine on windows 10 machines?

Its like when people on Sup Forums talk about how they dont engage in "degeneracy" and fight for the white race in their free time
of fucking course none of it is true

Is that kanna?

Yes, as a programmer I prefer distraction free environment to focus on.

Why would I not be using linux if I knew my way around it enough to rice a virtual machine?
Games? They don't give me any satisfaction at this point?
Windows exclusive software? Nothing comes to mind.
It's not like Windows 10 has any sort of feature over loonix I'd use it for.

it's great if all you do is type, browse, and watch chinese cartoons.
the fuck else do you do? gaymes?

i mean, fair enough
people just need to stop memeing that ricing an obscure linux distro with anime traps somehow puts them above someone who just likes to gayme instead

>Games? They don't give me any satisfaction at this point?
Either you say this to sound mature for some reason, or you barely tried different games.
There's bound to be something you enjoy, doesn't even have to run on whinshit either.
CS is my current joy, but RuneScape was my passion, but a AFK-able time sink.
Generally more competitive/MMORPG games are enjoyable for the older consumer, that's not interested in 10 hour playthroughs of a AAA on rails title/s.

>really use linux as a daily driver?

Yes.

My windoze machine gets booted about 1-2 times/week (at most) when I need to run something specifically native for windoze platform. Usually to be compatible with clients or family/friends that are stuck on windoze. I barely even need to launch Win7 VM anymore, generally less than once a day, sometimes 3 or 4 days without.

Ricers are autistic, but that doesn't mean they aren't genuine.
As for elitism, welcome to Sup Forums.

>a virtual machine on windows 10 machines?
the other way around, actually. linux as main os with a w7 vm for games.

Competitive games feel like a waste of time since getting good for it's own sake is more rewarding with useful skills.
Story based games shove in grinding that inevitably feels like the game is wasting my tine.
I don't like social gaming.
Playing for more than an hour makes me think about how I should be doing something else.

i have 3 computers and a server that all run arch linux and i am more comfortable than i had ever been with windows

i do have an install i boot into for muh gaymes because i have a 4k display and i can't do passthrough when my integrated can't natively support the resolution of my screen

...

Fair enough. I can not in all good conscious recommend a cure for self improvement.
But I will say motor skills and reflexes are transferable. Should you fancy anything that requires those.
I think you wouldn't mind puzzles tho. As a form of mind training.
A good simple one I use is called VOI.
Just black shapes you use to recreate another, but overlapping them turns it to whitespace where they cross.
I's recommend if I could that it's used to replace the traditional portion of an IQ test for spacial thinking.

I don't know why this is hard to realize, but there are people who take more pleasure spending their free time doing constructive things. You find these people working on all kinds of projects, fixing up cars, building elaborate imported models, tinkering with robotics, out flying drones, or hell, maybe even writing programs, working on some long-term project to finish coding a simple little indie game because it's comfy.

i am doing this for memes actually

>Arch
yeah, I can tell

...

I switched to Linux 3 days ago and I've never gone back or wanted to go back to windows.

>larping
>live action role playing
>live action role playing on the internet

I've done most those things. They should not consume all of your waking hours, unless you're cashed up and can constantly afford new projects, or are so obsessed with some code project that's on NASA levels of complexity.
If they do, you're probably a shit cunt. But hey, least you're trying.

I do

I use windows on my home computer cause of games + some of my components dont really work well with linux. I do run linux on my laptop which i do all of my uni stuff on though.

If it wasn't for gaymen there would be reason for me to run windows. I fucking hate what it's turned into.

>ren't your guys larping with your silly little screenfetches with a virtual machine on windows 10 machines?
It's the other way around, bby

>Arch
self-destructive timesink but super slick when it's not
>Windows
annoying shit that took a month of gutting all the ways it kept interrupting dark souls with update notifications and other shit.
>Ubuntu
babbymode engage
>Debian
good shit

>babbymode engage
>a man who literally wrote his own operating system from scratch is a babby
Ubuntu and Fedora and the distros you use when you need to get shit done.

>a man who literally wrote his own operating system from scratch
Other people have done it too, without sucking their brother's cock and jerking off to irl incest shit

kek

there is literally no difference between jerking off alone and helping each other get your dicks sucked

Yes I do use Linux as a daily driver.

Yes, it runs on my phone as I get shit done on my five Windows 10 machines.

I do. Been using Mint as my main distro for at least 10 years now. Recently replaced it with GNOMEbuntu to try it out and I'm regretting it since GNOME is incredibly buggy and unpolished, especially when compared to Cinnamon.
I'm surprised they're moving on to GNOME 4, with 3 being the half assed mess that it is. I'm honestly starting to believe GNOME devs are just sadistically fucking around with the community at this point.

It's just a matter of being accustomed to how things work, really.
Windows has a lot of shitty and inconvenient features that you just put up with because you're used to them.
I have a W10 partition that I only use to play a few online games with my normie friends, but otherwise all my favorite games have Linux clients and I avoid using W10.
I have external HDDs where I store all my personal files and I have to rely on buggy obscure software - that doesn't work most of the time - to mount them on W10 because Microsoft refuse to implement support for competing standards to alienate their users from any alternatives to their shitty operating system. I tried the Linux subset for windows, but it is unfinished and doesn't work properly. And I feel that the only upgrades W10 has in relation to W7 is the desktop customization features and boot time, everything else just either makes me annoyed or feel like complete shit.
In the last four months I probably booted W10 just three or four times and it always feels like a chore.
I wish I had saved an image of my Mint + W7 configuration so I could easily roll back to it right now.

>MMORPG games are enjoyable for the older consumer
May be true but the time investment versus what you get in return is pretty shitty. Unless you have too much time to waste and nothing better to do, gayming is a pretty horrible choice of activity.

My main desktop runs Linux Mint. It has a Windows 7 virtual machine but other than that there's no Windows partition or anything

My htpc runs Windows 7 just in case I ever wanto to gaym

Rest of my old, shitty desktops - all Linux Mint

Laptops - Linux Mint apart from the Macbook

And yes, this was an honest answer

Just wondering, what games do you play?

>Games? They don't give me any satisfaction at this point?
Get some libre gaems like supertuxcart. Tons of fun with autistic twist.

I don't even own anything with Windows on it anymore.

>not parabola
*Drops freedoms

I don't even have that many modern games

GTA V, Human Resource Machine, Hotline Miami

(Morenatsu :3)

I have a large collection of DOS games, the last game I finished copmpletely was Space Quest 2 a couple years ago

I use Fedora 25 on my laptop and android without Gapps on my phone, and there surely is some learning I had to do, it was pretty nice.

I can't drop windows on my desktop though since I love the adobe suite and "muh games" is still an important aspect for me. Though I'll probably grow out of both in the next 1-2 years.

No, that's Tohru. Kanna is the oppai oneesan.

Oh, I was going to suggest you rocket league, tomb rider and the shadow of mordor/war but you may have different taste. Those two games run natively on Linux

I'm using linux for almost 7 years now. Had problems with it, yes but that maked me more motivated to learn it more.
Also back in time, I was impresed about working sound out of the box on my old pc which had huge fucking problems with drivers on windows (nowhere to be found and once working once not).
Had almost every distro on my machines but now I'm Arch on my main laptop and fedora on the other one.

you only asked in the hopes other lolicon would post C-porn right?

>this virtual number went up
>only took me 10 years and $50000 in subscription costs
MMORPG games in a nutshell

i dual boot but 99% of my time is spent on Linux.

luckily enough most of the games i play are linux native or work in Wine, so...

yes, all the software i use is supported and it's less frustrating than windows now that i am familiar with it, it's all about the little creature comforts that make linux nice even if it means dealing with the occasional problem

Dual boot, but havent' booted windows in months.
Bought a prebuilt, and am too (((cheap))) to wipe an OS that I paid for, whether I wanted it or not.

not maintained well at all or i'd use it

That tends to kill it. Probably the reason why I was unable to install Trisquel. It just would move anywhere even after giving "forcepae" parametres

that should be the logo for antergos it definitely represents it

of course not, linux is shit, people here like to praise shit stuff to troll people

>switched to Linux 3 days ago
>I've never gone back
>switched to Linux 3 days ago

You will switch to Windows until end of this week.

many of the things that i use in windows works on linux natively so why even bother with windows? ironcially windows started to give me a lot of problems with malware everywhere, the games that i mostly play works on linux natively so with more reason im here on linux, i store my things in another partition anyway

>do you guys really use linux as a daily driver?

Honestly, I don't. My Linux machine is a toy more than anything - a weird amalgamation of mismatched parts that's used almost exclusively for shitposting and ricing when the mood strikes me.

So yeah, good call OP.

>He doesn't have an entire company running solely on Debian

>I prefer distraction free environment
inability to focus and ease of distraction are signs of autism

yup. every day for school/games (mostly play Chivalry but sometimes wine for Soulstorm or other games, did WoW with wine for a while). All my programming gets done on linux since I have the environment set up and a package manager is nice to have.

Even at work I have a linux box set up on recycled hardware. It shares k/b + mouse with my windows laptop using synergy, so I can play around or use tools for processing files that I like.

Biggest reason for using windows at all for me is Excel. The free version don't really cut it, and I need to program VBA sometimes to make macros for the other office drones.

also grils and friends and family
