Is Kaby Lake-X Intel's worst product of all time? It makes no sense whatsoever

Is Kaby Lake-X Intel's worst product of all time? It makes no sense whatsoever.
>strip iGPU functionality from Kaby Lake
>slightly higher clockspeed
>charge the same price as Kaby Lake equivalent on a more expensive motherboard
>can't even use any of the features on your high end mobo (dual-channel, 16 PCI-e lanes)
What the fuck is the point? You're paying more money for a crippled CPU.

Only excuse you're gonna get.

It only exists because Intel doesn't have enough Skylake-X chips to satisfy their motherboard vendor orders for Socket 2066 boards.

They weren't expecting to launch Socket 2066/X299 so soon (originally planned Q4 2017-Q1 2018 release).

Ryzen completely changed that and Threadripper is forcing them to make 12+ core i9 chips to keep-up in "core count" race.

Kaby-Lake-X is literately the "Celeron" of the HEDT family and only makes sense if you intend on getting a "Skylake-X" or its successor down the road at a more reasonable price.

All 7740X's can overclock to 5.3ghz. It will take ampoo 5 years to get that level of single core performance.

pls buy intel processors. I work at intel

...

So can the 7600K and 7700K.....

Socket 2066 does nothing for Kaby-Lake. Socket 1151 can deliver more then enough current for those insane epenis overvolting/overclocking.

>All 7740X's can overclock to 5.3ghz
Source: My ass
>delidded
lmao.

Kill yourself IMG_xxxx

No, this is.

Nope. I have a 7700k which works at 5.3 but not every 7700k/7600k can do it. Most of them top out at 5.0/5.1 if delidded. It's way better than amd's max overclocks of 4.0ghz using nuclear voltages though

Funniest part is Ryzen doesn't even use much power at 4ghz. It's process limited not thermally limited like the i9's are

500 watts if you try even the slightest overclock. I guess the poo heats up pretty fast

Go away IMG_xxxx

Go away 14xxxx.jpg

You are literally functionally retarded. Get banned again, shitstain. Nobody believes you have a 7700K running at 5.3 GHz either. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time

2500k was deeply flawed

You got high on poo again I see

Why do you even bother posting cherrypicked results without any link to the review? anandtech.com/show/11550/the-intel-skylakex-review-core-i9-7900x-i7-7820x-and-i7-7800x-tested

And then claim some total bullshit like Ryzen takes 500 watts. Fuck off.

You just BTFO'd yourself with that picture you stupid shitskin lmao

how neger?

t.intelcuck that loves wasting money for marginal performance gains

That's a lot of projection you've got there.

Specially made toilet for India Inside

Amd is a literal indian corpooration

they wouldn't use it anyway

>(lower is better)
You don't even understand the graph you've been spamming since forever.

>>can't even use any of the features on your high end mobo (dual-channel, 16 PCI-e lanes)

You do realise the memory controller and PCI-E controller is on-die, right? It's literally built into the CPU.

>Raja AMD CEO and his executives

lol.

Poo in loo poojet

Raja isn't even the CEO you shiteating retard.

>>can't even use any of the features on your high end mobo (dual-channel, 16 PCI-e lanes)

Kaby Lake-X has 4 DDR4 memory channels and 44 PCI-E lanes.
What the fuck are you even talking about?

I just reported your hairy brown ass

Are you really this stupid?

prepare for a fuckton of nonsensical changes in Intel's market strategy. with AMD now severely undercutting them in every single market, they have to cut prices on their bigger chips. since they've been freely segmenting every single inch of the market for half a decade now, cutting ANY price will necessarily cause a domino effect, or more likely the removal of a lot of SKUs.

problem is, the Zeppelin die and Infinity Fabric combo is not something they can match right now. AMD can do much more with much less. they have much better yields, much lower costs, and this will only get worse as their revenue allows them to scale up production. if GloFo's 7nm process is as good as it's looking to be, then Zen+ will comfortably clock to KBL levels and just completely fuck things up for Intel.

they need something big and they need it soon. with Intel's current management though, they're going to fumble and it's going to be entertaining.

Go away 14xxxx.jpg

If a Kaby-X chip is installed (which is the exact same silicon as the 7700k), the other 2 memory channels and the remaining 28 PCI-E lanes are completely nonfunctional as they're not connected to anything.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time

You're clearly functionally retarded as you never once learned that's a generic UNIX timeshamp.

You posted an Intel slide confirming my post, and I'm the stupid one?

>timeshamp
Back to 3rd English class you stupid nigger

The slide says clearly 16 PCIE lanes, you dumb shit. End yourself.

Kaby Lake X are the two on the bottom you stupid dipshit.

Friendly reminder to report the shitposters.

Don't get a stroke my poo

>Back to 3rd *GRADE* English class you stupid nigger
Fixed it for you, literal retard cocksucker.

Up to 44 lanes for the high end chip.

They're all Kaby Lake X, you retard.

Common guyse don't fite.
At the end of the day we all want the same thing:
intel cpus for cheap

Why would I take advice from a stupid nigger who can't spell words correctly?

No, Kaby Lake-X is the 7640k and 7740k, the rest are Skylake-X.

Buying that X299 board for 4core

>doesn't know what unix timestamp is

Why do you insist on living when your only purpose in life is shilling? Why haven't you killed yourself yet?

> strip iGPU

this is actually the only good development for enthusiasts PCs.

It uses like 0.2 watts when not in use. Not sure that's gonna get you any extra megahurtz. They just disabled the iGPU because none of the other X299 CPUs have iGPUs either.

if you see this line as a cpu then yes its a failure
if you see this line as a boiler line then no its the most efficient boiler i have ever seen

>costs the same, motherboard costs more
>cant use quicksync for streaming, need to use cpu or gpu power for it
>x299 babbylake-x needs a $20+ dedicated gpu
>end up spending more money for less features
>"this is actually the only good development for enthusiasts PCs."

Hoo boy, our shitposting friend was here and got banned again, faster than ever?

The 7800X is actually the worst cpu of this whole lineup.
Somewhat beats a 1700@stock, over 2x the power consumption, have to buy 4 sticks of memory, have to delid and and buy a watercooling solution.
Wait for coffe-lake 6 cores I guess.

Nice when you see a platform with with tdp launched with Tim instead of solder.
Shameful dispray

If all Coffee Lake S can deliver is slightly better than i7-6800K performance with jizz TIM at a $350 price point, it's a failure out of the gate.

What else can Intel do? They want to keep their 60% margins.

HAHAHAHA look at this retard!

how? i have no problems with it.

>Intel
>Got blueprints from IBM
>didn't want to deviate at all from them
>AMD found more optimal way of doing things right away
>Cyrix backwards engineered a better x86 CPU than what Intel ever could
>Only way Intel could survive was shady business tactics

Intel was always 10 years behind competition.

This is a large reason people are excited for Amd's new CPU even if they aren't buying one, it's a new architecture, something Intel lately hasn't done for... since the Pentium 3... so Intel has been floating along on the back of Pentium 3 nearly 20 years, and will be over 20 by the time they make something new, while AMD has had 3 different cores in that time frame with 2 of them being good, one of them being good for specific applications for a short time, would likely still be good enough today if they released full desktop variants but fuck it, when gamers are concerned its hard to argue in favor of construction and cat cores.

Throughout the entirety of the bulldozer base, look at what AMD did gen over gen... and now look at Ryzen, and imagine it to be Bulldozer levels of optimization left to happen. now realize Ryzen currently on engineering samples that throw errors like a mother fucker, is within/over 5% IPC of Intel's current CPU.

1/2

I cant wait to see if either there is a performance stand still, you can't get much faster than Intel is, or if we have been rammed up the ass by Intel for so long we forgot they were even there and its only now that we finally see real vagina we remember a cock is still lodged up our asses.

Intel has way more fuckups than Bulldozer, Bulldozer is AMD's only spectacular fuckup in the CPU market in 40 years, the only other minor fuckup was Phenom which was not even a architecture fuckup since it was fixed in B3 stepping, the other fuckup was K5.
But these are fucking nothing compared to Presshot, Itanium, Larabee, iAPX 432, and their own fuckup with P5 FDIV that wasn't nicely fixed with a stepping, but a fucking recall.
What about their complete failure with the Atom? What an abortion, mobile market? 14nm and lower lithography woes where they allowed their competitors that were lagging 4 years to close the gap to less than a year?

These magnificent failures would destroy 5 companies over, it's a good thing Intel has more money than sense to live through it all.

2/2

Management Engine was a big fuckup

Wouldn't call Larrabee a fuckup as it's just not sold as a GPU, Xeon Phi is what became of the project

>ctrl+f "netburst"
Nah.

It's Netburst 2.0.

This will never happen. Intel would rather lose marketshare than margins.

chiru.no/u/average_intel_owner.webm

DELID THIS

Actually, Skylake/Kaby Lake are really just a massively tweaked Merom with an integrated PCIe controller, intergrated memory controller and iGPU in a Ring-bus layout.

Merom in itself is just synthesis of the best elements from Netburst and P6.

Shut the fuck up you autistic nigger

Calling Skylake/Kaby Lake a Pentium 3 clone is like calling Zen a K7-clone.

Good. Fuck these retards for doing the k series can only overclock and leaving the i5 at 4 cores for years

user I think you might actually be mentally disabled.

I-I sort of want that

>6.5GHz stock, unlocked Skylake Celeron

>celery-x

Tejas and Jayhawk never got a chance to shine. And by shine, I mean burn your house down.

>yfw Intel releases 10nm Jayhawk++ as a hail mary

>cElErOn-x

IDK about that

Die have gotten increasingly small, making thermals a hot mess

The iGPU can increase the die size

It's cheaper to not include the iGPU, more per wafer, but like I said, thermals suffer

Hence why haswell did a lot better than Ivy. Yeah the process was a little refined, and the solder fixed, but the iGPU increased massively this larger die, thus better thermals, overclocking, yada yada

>It makes no sense whatsoever.
Ignore the marketing bullshit (hurr you can get on x299 for cheaper)

It's purely for benchfags and muh extreem overcocks so Intel can top the tables and hold frequency records

I don't get this meme

REverse/inverse hyperthreading when? that is merging two cores into one, halving core count but increasing performance by nearly double

Upgrade path..? Isn't Coffee Lake gonna come out on the Socket 1151?

Doubt it.

It's not feasible because you can't use distinct cores to do linear processing.
