Intel is 8% faster in arithmetic.
The Xeon is overclocked though, and AMD is clearly lower TDP.

Bingo, there's power use here, just slightly under 500W for the dual Xeon system.
AMD doesn't have power reporting on sisoft, but we got another source with the same processors on servethehome, 2xEPYC hit around 470 watts.
Thing is, STH was running GROMACS, which is AVX, sisoft arythetmic is not SIMD

Seems AMD has gotten a really efficient beast here, I personally can't wait for 7nm, that's where the real show starts.
Targeting 5GHz operation and .10V lower drive voltage than 14nm, that's fucking insane.
I wouldn't be surprised to see 48 core CPUs clocked over 3.5GHz
