Mice & Other Hardware

My DeathAdder just started double clicking by itself. It's been about a year so it's out of warranty. Anybody have any replacement recommendations?

Another DeathAdder.

Check youtube to fix the clicking problem

Eh, I don't really care for it enough to replace it with another DeathAdder. This mouse is the first of many I've owned that have ever had this kind of issue.

I'm not too interested in taking it apart and replacing a switch, I'm looking more to just replace it. I just don't know what's considered "best" these days, and I don't really care if it's a "gaming" mouse or not. I know some people on here recommend a Microsoft mouse of some sort but I can never remember which one it is.

Well how about
J A M E S D O N K E Y

can vouch, a $7 james doneky is as good as a $70 *established brandname* one

clean the switch

I use a steelseries 5-button mouse, works pretty well but I claw and it's designed to be palmed so one buttong is almost worthless to me

I don't know if it's a meme or not, but I've previously owned a DeathAdder and g503 and decided to get an MX Master 2S. I absolutely love it. Wireless, great battery life, and very comfy. The Flow feature is very interesting and I intend to test it out when I get another Logitech dongle.

Steelseries Sensei or basic Microsoft mouse

I've been using a basic $5 optical dell mouse for the last 8 years. I've raided mythics in wow, done ranked pvp, nightmare mode ops in swtor, and more. I'm tired of shit and now that I have the means to afford it I want to buy some really excellent stuff.

Similar to OP's question - what would a good choice be? Clearly anything is better than what I have now but so far I've narrowed it down to:

Nixeus Revel ($33)
Mionix Castor ($49)
Logitech G403 ($58)
Razer DeathAdder Elite ($60)

(all reviewed and recommended by RJN and others)

Mionix Naos 7000

Comfy as fuck and not too expensive.

deathadder doubleclicking is an easy fix you just take the top cover off by wedging it open and clean it up it's an easy fix 5 minutes

i've had to do that randomly like 3 times over the past 4-5 years and my da2013 still good as new

it's a based mouse op don't drop it just because you can't take care of it

had the exact same problem with two death adders, both purchased in 2016. one at work and one at home.

following a tutorial, I cleaned the switch on both. It worked on the one I use at home -- however the one at work stayed broken...so using some retarded xorg edits and xbindxeys I changed mouse5 or whatever the first side button was to mimic left click. I got used to left clicking with my thumb after an hour, but then a month or so later, the middle click stopped working. I had a 2012 death adder for four years with no problems. the newer shit is just garbage unfortunately.

get the miniox, currently using it. it's comfy.

I was drawn to the castle butwas hesitant because they are less well known and I wasn't sure how reliable they are.

Are the more expensive Logitech and Razer actually better quality or just branding? I dont mind paying $70 for a mouse that will last me 8 years. If a $5 Dell optical basic mouse lasts that long, won't one of these modern 'gaming' ones do the same?

I actually am using the naos 8200, have been for a year. I think it's still too early to call whether or not it'll go for 8 years, but it's way better than any (new) razer or steel series product. In regards to logitech, I've tried the g400 & g502 logitech mice and have never been a fan, however they are popular and some claim to still be using their original g400s -- so yeah, theyre probably pretty good.

I just took mine apart and cleaned it, I'll see if it continues. If it does then I suppose I'll grab a Rival 300 or something. It's kinda sad because I like this form factor but I don't wanna spend so much money on shit that's just going to break in a year. I have a 7 year old G9x that still works perfectly too.

Mamba or Mionix Castor

Bought a new g400s 3 years ago and has yet to fail would recommend trying to find s reasonably priced one and buying it

logitech g502

To add to that list, Zowie FK/EC/ZA Series.

I've had two deathadder chromas get this problem, each after about one year of use luckily my warranty had lasted long enough to replace both but fuck it's anoyying how quick it happens

Any big mouse with decent optical sensor?

Not op but can you explain the cleaning a little more? I did clean it all and after 2 days it started double clicking again. I guess I did it wrong.

Steelseries Rival 300
Deathadder 2013 and (maybe) newer
Zowie EC1, FK1

Also good mouse coming through

if you're doubleclicking there's probably something in your M1 switch (could be sticky or hairs who knows) so stick a toothpick or something small and sharp in there and try to wipe the sides.

sometimes it starts working sometimes you have to try again but i got it working every time in the end

i never had to take the whole mouse apart like in some of the videos on youtube

pic related is i think the old version, mine has a different look and it's definitely never as dirty but the point is just take the top cover off and play with LMB, at least it worked for me

Okay thanks user I will definitely try that.

I'm looking for
>Wireless
>Rechargeable battery
>5 or more buttons
>Good sensor
>Non-shit wheel
>50€ or less

Does it even exist?

What's the best mouse and why is it the ZOWIE EC1-A for non-manlets?

5 total buttons or 5 side buttons?

I use this

Func MS-3 R.2

The reason for me picking it is due to that finger rest on the right side of the mouse. So my ring and little finger won't touch the mouse pad.

The mouse has really good firmware, 3 presets, and DPI control for each set. Plus a quick adjust button you can also set DPI for.

THe mouse has a 8 buttons outside right and left mouse keys.

Total

Steelseries Rival 300 seem have a nice shape, but the sensor is questionable. Might try someday.
The rest is meh.

I just purchased a Motospeed V30 .
Looking forward to try it.

I swear by razer taipan.

Underrated AF.

if you can somehow get it shipped over to you, best buy has a logitech g403 wireless for 50 us dollars. 3366 sensor, wireless, and a good scroll wheel.

Is this a meme?

They even try to meme their truck keyboard too.

I'm using a wireless g403. I like it a lot but the scroll wheel is kind of soft which is annoying.

A 3310 sensor is questionable? Not sure what you mean by 'decent' then.

tips fedora

Best buy has Logitech g403 wireless for 49.99 right now. I just ordered one with a 2 year replacement plan for 4.99 extra. Free two day shipping. Overall I believe I found a good balance between price, quality, and reliability

Spin out when tilt-slam.

I plan on using it for 1.5 years then returning it to BB for a brand new one. The way I see it, that's guaranteed 3-4 years longevity out of a $55 mouse.

why not stick with what works?

also the g403 is basically the best one.

See above, I went with a g403 wireless on sale from BB and got a 2 yr replacement plan so I can swap it out

by the time you replace it, theyll stop producing them and force you to buy a different mouse

Logitech G302 and 303 are fantastic. The shape can be polarizing though, you'll either love it or hate it.

Logitech G403 Prodigy, literally the best mouse.

Then I'll just swap it before it gets discontinued?

I need to get a new mouse. Anything similiar to this badboy I had like 10 years ago?
It's Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 I belive.

Thinking about buying a finalmouse scream 1 second edition
any thoughts?

Some random Zowie might suits your needs.

my deathadder had the same issue. i followed one of those online TUT's which tell you to clean that small copper piece under the clicker and it fixed it for a couple of months but then a couple days ago it started double clicking again. i attempted to do the fix again but ended up knocking that small copper piece out and spend another 3 hours trying to get it back in.

ended up just giving up because i can't be bothered to keep doing this risky fix and i ordered a superior logitech g403 wired instead for half the price i bought my deathadder chroma for.

literally this

Just bought this since it was on sale for $75, should be arriving today I can't wait

What the fuck is it with technology lasting less than a year now?
If I spend over 50$ on something, I expect at LEAST 3 years use out of it.

>razor build quality

Zowie EC1
CM Storm Alcor/Mizar (same shell, depending if you want optical or laser respectively)

Be aware that the ec1 is slightly smaller than the ie3.0 (and some claim the weight is balanced differently), and both the cm's are smaller still, but the difference isn't much.
Personally I've had the Alcor for 2 years
>manlet hands
fuck off, and I'm very happy with it. A few months ago the back thumb button started double clicking, but fixed itself a few weeks later, probably dirt.
Oh and disregard the one on the pic, I got mine in black.

should have just got a g403 my man

Thanks, Ive been thinking about Rival 300.
Ill check EC1 and Alcor

>Personally I've had the Alcor for 2 years
And soon Cooler Master will release Mastermouse MM530, Alcor with 3360 sensor.

The EC1 has great aesthetics but the LED scrollwheel is dealbreaker for me.
