Gives me insights to where i go the most, and helps me figure out what i can do to make commutes and routes faster. Also prrtty useful for tracking mileage but nothing beats an odometer. You either use it to your advantage or turn it off.

Google account logs all your location history by default.
If you have Google's photo backup it will display it alongside the pictures you took in specific locations.
Obviously it does consume some battery but it's just periodic checks, it doesn't affect the battery much.
I think it makes some mistakes occasionally.
It had me pinned down in a place last week that I'm sure I couldn't have been at because I was about 300km away
