How do you beat new MacBook Pro?

>SSD faster than anything else on the market
>latest Intel and/or AMD graphics

>Thunderbolt 3 speeds for eGPU, storage, 2x 5K screens

>super-nice screen

Even I have to admit that this time they won big. I wonder which of the PC manufacturers will be able to create something comparable. Microsoft tried and failed miserably. Maybe VAIO will create something new???

Thoughts?

VAIO is dead user. Either surrender to Apple or get a t470

they seem to be doing just fine

Vaio Z Flip seems pretty beasty

MagSafe, USB.

With a really nice shiny hammer, of course.

I'm just looking for a 1080p thin laptop top with good specs that's thin and light. My yoga 3 with its moble chip is so slow

What exactly is wrong with the hardware? I don't give a shit about brands.

Latest X1 Carbon seems to be pretty excellent.

My late 2013 mac still runs great, but I can't see myself ever getting one again with shit like touch bar added. Sticking to putting money into building desktops and just gonna use this thing when I need a computer on the go. Should last for many more years if I baby it.

used dell xps 13, with infinitymeme display

too bad it's shit, the 560 is weaker than a mobile GTX 1050.

If it was $500 cheaper, that'd be a good deal.

Now render it on Final Cut

again you retarded shillfag poojeet
nobody gives any fucks about your worthless fucking opinion.

lmao not even apple uses that pile of shit

yeah by copying apple... honestly it looks like an old macbook at first, wheres the innovation?!

imagine giving a shit about hating macbooks so much that you waste all this time researching and posting on every pro mac thread just to feel like you used this time for an actual purpose

Sums up Mac experience in a nutshell.

t. Mac user

> not even Apple uses that pile of shit
yeah right, except it just keeps getting updates and a TON of professionals use it, that's why it renders much faster than Adobe's bloatware

Apple also hires Final Cut professionals, that's just a cherrypicked image

>t. mactoddler

LOL... that cheap knockoff is shameless.

dude im not even an apple user but honestly the hate towards apple is too high. Theyre trash when if comes to performance but theyre always top tier design.

Apple hires all kinds of skillsets. Apple doesn't make a true After Effects equivalent. Your image is retarded. Stay mad poojeet.

With a hammer

>SSD faster than anything else on the market
Cof cof Samsung ssd

apple developed their own SSD controller. they just use samsung to manufacture it for them.

Whether or not that is true, Samsung's m.2 SSDs are just as fast, if not faster.

So it doesn't matter.

it isn't. MBP is faster.

ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/182182/Samsung-SSD-960-PRO-512GB

Monster performance

Not by any benchmark or claimed performance I have seen.

you'll never get that performance out of a laptop you retarded newfag.

LAST YEARS mbp have 3.1gbps read / 2.1gbps read

Maybe on with laptops that have the m.2 on the SATA bus, but if the m.2 is on the PCI-e bus you'll get it.

And Samsung's 960 Pros were out last year.

>worst thermal throttling ever
true

The amount of everlasting asspain an image of a Mac gets on Sup Forums never ceases to amaze me. Seething jealousy is real. Enjoy your semen infused $120 TwinkPads.

now imagine still buying a macshit product after reading all that

Hang yourself, macshit shill.

you faggots love your mechanical keyboards, and you complain over this? Top kek

pretty sure louis got a defective unit, there lad. I have no problems with video output via usb-c straight outta the factory.

the thermal throttling is a meme. it happens just as much as any other laptop

>keyboard is louder
I don't find it loud at all. And don't you cream your pants over mechanical keyboards?

Mechanical keyboards are great for at home.

Laptops are portable. Loud keyboards are annoying for other people. I wouldn't take my mechanical keyboard to a cafe or library and type on it, but I would take my laptop.

my mechanical keyboard i quieter than that you silly toddler
>how do switches work

>t. mactoddler

but it's not even COMPARABLE to a mechanical keyboard in terms of loudness. it's really quite average for a laptop keyboard (especially when you compare to other non-membrane ones)

you've never even used one, it's quite obvious. otherwise you wouldn't be using this as a main argument

lel it's louder than my old ass x220 and my current x1 carbon

Who is Louis? Does it come with a USB-C to HDMI on the box?

because they use shitty membrane switches

Louis Rossman - a pretty intelligent guy that fixes computers, talks about politics and other things, and reviews products occassionally

>sony product
>vaio
try again

>the itoddler wants to talk about switches on his keyboard with .0001mm travel
my sides

do you even know what a butterfly switch is

yes

all I'm saying is that they're decent for a laptop, and not a feature that's worth criticizing. you'll find a much shittier keyboard with the mushy keys in the Dell XPS 15, for example.

I got the new Pro assigned to me as a work laptop, and I'm pretty happy with it. (No, I am not a web dev thankfully.)

The keyboard is fucking weird at first but once you get used to it it's excellent. Every other laptop keyboard has wobbly keys after using it, and the tactile feedback makes you stop caring about the tiny key travel.
The trackpad is something you actually can judge from a first impression. They should have waited to remove trackpad buttons until they came up with this. (The extra "deep click" doesn't get activated accidentally, and the pressure is configurable. I disabled it completely because none of my applications use it.)

I'm not particularly happy with the cooling performance, but that's an acceptable compromise to me. All my real computing at work is done on separate boxes in the datacenter anyway.

The touch bar is mostly a meme. You can touch and drag from the volume or brightness icon to adjust them like a slider, which is neat. I don't notice the weird escape "key" as much as I expected to, mostly since I was already in the habit of ctrl-[ in vim.

I miss magsafe, but at the same time I like having power+video in one plug.

>b-but some other product is bad too don't criticize my apple
do you even read what you post

do you want a full-size mechanical keyboard in your laptop? do you know how fucking thick it would have to be?

>I know! we'll shave a few mm off the chassis my worsening the most important input device on it!
It's genius!

you go ahead and buy a quality laptop that has implemented this - i'll wait

oh wait, there isn't one.

That has implemented a non-shit keyboard? Are you fucking serious? Why are maccucks so delusional?

>Buying a laptop because of its screen.

I said the Macbook Pro has a decent keyboard that I like. how am I being delusional?

but go ahead, name a laptop that has a great keyboard with good specs and isn't some ancient Thinkpad.

>dual-core
no, they're quad-cores in the 2017 lineup

The recent thinkpads? They don't have the same old keyboard but they're universally praised as being the business keyboard of choice in laptops.

>its bad enough that apple fanboys complain about it and list it as a reason why they returned the laptop an went back to and older model
>"it's not that bad! you haven't even used it!"
When I see someone with $20,000 worth of Apple products around them say the keyboard is loud and feels like shit I'm more likely to believe them than an Anonymous poster on Sup Forums.

>recent thinkpads have great keyboards
HAHAH. are you sure he's the delusional one here?

2013 Macbook Pro Retina.

Yeah exactly. You're the on trying to sell us on one of the worst key travels on the market with a special snowflake layout to boot. No one is surprised at least.

it's probably due to how used to he was to the older keyboards. old people don't like any type of change

true

This doesn't justify dropping $2000
