BOOT LOOPS

Not 100 percent what peoples opinion on them is but I had one for about a year then its motherboard fried and my provider gave me a new handset, was a real good phone up to that point tho user.

Doesn't a custom recovery and rom get rid of it though?

It's a hardware problem IIRC

got one on release, after 6 months one of the two display panels died. got it swapped and havent had any problems ever since. no bootloops nothing. even on a sketch turkish custom rom

i like

Nope don't do it. Posting on one now. Bootlooped on me the week before my warranty expired. Got it fixed.

It's a hardware issue. Woodglue keeping the processor on the MB is shit.

It is guaranteed to bootloop on you OP.

Would pic related be any better?

probably. my dad has one and it seems pretty nice. has a really bright screen.

also, i somehow managed to burn in the notification bar into the screen but other than that nothing ever made trouble

i really dont get the bootloop meme user just wants to proliferate by being "listen to me im important my phone died thus i am an expert"

haha

Maybe, but I don't really trust LG after all of the bootlooped phones. If I were you, I'd go for another brand.

eh idk

i can reccomend g4 on the basis that the custom development scene is somewhat existant thus you have nice stuff like android >6.0 and doze thus battery life is good. the screen is nice but as a isaid after 1,5+ years you might get burn in or stuff

also build quality is really good for some reason the screen hasnt broken yet

and ive thrown that phone against the wall lol

Naw faggot it has like 90% failure rate which 10% lower than your mom's offspring.

>it has like 90% failure rate
>packaging a guess as a fact
the only failure is you
you is a failure
lol

You're near $300 for a G5. You're better off getting the LG V20 or an HTC 10 at that point. HTC10 should even be cheaper and will give one of the best cameras on a phone you can have currently.

How about the Droid Turbo 2?

Running heavily modded G4 for a few months now, working just fine

No, user. I owned one and the bootloops happened a month after my warranty expired. I'm still mad that I paid 500 dollars (bought at launch) to own a phone for 13 months. I realize you can probably get one for dirt cheap now, but I guarantee you will get the bootloop of death eventually. It happens to everyone. Look elsewhere.

get a 5x

Early models sucked dick apparently, if you can find a later batch number then they're apparently a solid handset
G2 is still an utter shit wrecker for half the price though

Still waiting for mine

Why would you buy a phone with a 100% failure rate?

Every G4 is affected by the bootloop problem. It's a hardware design defect.

Still better than an iPhone

Girlfriend has one of these. She's very happy with it. Battery life is the only downside.

Get a Redmi Note 4X or something similiar

>need
No, you don't.

G4 bootloop after 14 months for me. LG in Australia wouldn't cover the repair under their extension program as I bought it overseas when travelling. Not to mentioned their bullshit policy of only offering bootloader unlocking for EU models. Also went through 4 LG-made Nexus 5's, all due to the same bootlooping issue caused by a cheap power button switch. Wouldn't buy anything LG again. Currently have a Motorola G5 Plus, running LineageOS 14.1 and its comfy as. Only thing I miss about the G4 is the camera.

It's not 100%

Don't buy LG. They're worse than Samsung.

Need a phone too.
Requirements
Verizon
AMOLED
3.55 Jack
external sd or 128 storage
Not one of the budget processors (6xx, 4xx)
Not Samsung

HTC 10

Yes. A huge mistake.
girardgibbs.com/lg-g4-bootloop-class-action-lawsuit/

Not AMOLED you retard

Not an OLED unfortunately.
I've only ever used them, and don't see any reason to go back to the boonies.

Do you prefer screen burn in?

LG G4 is basically the Note 7 with another name, brand, and a different set of problems.

Whoa. Be calm.
Except for that it's a good device. Too bad they'll never be able to make another flagship again

Pixel / Pixel XL
Moto Z Force

Ive owned 2 phones over 5-6 years and have never had burn in. I feel like it's for people who either don't know how to change simple settings or use their phone as their primary device

If you buy the Verizon Pixel or Pixel XL you can't unlock the bootloader.

Can you buy a non-Verizon Pixel and use it on their network?

Yes, either get the Moto G5/G5 Plus or a Xiaomi if you know your way around custom ROMs

The Pixel is so damn ugly. I want to wait for the new one so they'll hopefully improve but I know it'll be shit.
Im pretty sure people did this with the international version of the S7. I'd be surprised if you couldn't.

Does anyone have the ZUK Z2 or Axon 7?

It's been a long battle for me between this phone, HTC 10 and Xiaomeme Mi Max. Get whatever tickles your fancy and has good ROM support in case stock OS makes you furious.

Mi Max is only 1080, so you can scrub that one off your list.

Yes

Summer? In my Sup Forums? More likely than I'd thought
Really doesn't matter when loopgood keeps on using shit solder and everything keep fucking desoldering themselves

No that's as worse
Pick something not lg
The fucking M9 is better than a G5

LG is a shitfuck. G4 got bootloops (mine had one and after repair another one). And now the screen burns in and I still have to use it because no time to deal with the support. Shittiest company and smartphone. Still wanted the G5. A friend of mine bought it. Screen burn in issues like with the G4.
LG is a korean piece of shit.

Should've gotten the OnePlus 3/3T at the time.

All the phones that suck as of late are all 808 810 based like the Moto X G4 Nexus 5X 6P

Don't get lg the bootloop meme is real and if you don't have a warranty you're fucked

My V10 bootlooped after 12 months

Lenovo ZUK Z2. Nuff said.

I do. International ROM, not that Chinese shit that it usually comes with, only 1 button that does everything, 'meh' is camera but monster SD 820 AND 4 GB Ram. 165 € yay.

i recommend moto g5

Using this currently and loving it
