How are the Sennheiser momentum in ear? I already have decent over-ear headphones but I need in-ear headphones for commuting. Any other suggestions below 100€?
Ian Brooks
Kind of a first time buyer for amps I was wondering if I could get some recommendations? I'm not sure I wana deal with tube amps since replacing the bulbs seems like it might be a pain in the ass.
Aiden Parker
Aune X1s with HD600. It could be more powerful but I'm eyeing some electrostatic headphones so it will do until I make the big purchase
Jaxson Richardson
E10K, Fulla2, DAC X6, Magni2 in order of power output with E10K being the weakest. E10K/Fulla2 are powered by USB while the DAC X6/Magni2 are externally powered by the wall.
William Sanders
What's your budget? Do you need a DAC as well?
Owen Reyes
I woudln't mind a dac. I'm trying to keep below 150.
It's an amp+dac combo, but not suitable for anything below 80 ohms because of its 10 ohm output impedance. Good amount of power for the price, though
Dylan Lopez
Most of the entry-level stuff are dac/amp combos, like everything in .
Personally I use a Fulla 2, but the DAC X6 has a lot of features for such a low price.

Guys, I got a pair of Shure SRH 440 + the comfy earpads of the 840 back in 2012 and only just now discovered 4chinz /hpg/ How bad did I do?
Joseph Turner
Whats the difference between normal, original and genuine?
Hunter Long
Not bad
Nothing, they're just from different sellers.

I'm thinking on buying the brainwavz hm5, which pads are the comfiest/best sounding? Is there anything better in that price range?

I can't find any reviews on Panasonic RP-HD10. Maybe some you know about them? How do they compare with M40x?
Luke Nguyen
when was the last time K7XX were on a drop? Are they still serialized?
I'm thinking of finally dipping into one, but are they supposedly "treble canons" like beyerdynamics?
I don't really know how to read the frequency charts since even the HD600 that are apparently neutral also has spikes around 10K?
Levi Hill
All the HD600 memes in the threads made me want to try them out. How are they compared to the HD800?
Nathaniel Watson
They're better without EQ, and they don't have the resonance flaw HD800 has.
Isaac Anderson
So /hpg/, how does the HD700 compare to the HD600. Was going to get the latter but the mass drop is tempting me to the former.
Brandon Sullivan
>hd700 as compared to hd600 Poorly. Pretty much nobody even likes the HD700 at all. It's not neutral at all. It has a few fans, but it's quite the niche.
Connor Scott
Good to know, thanks, I'll stick to my gut then.
Jaxson Robinson
You don't have to. The HD700 has plenty of reviews, like the HD600 and 650. Can check all you want.
Jeremiah Kelly
Anyone have recommendations for a pair of headphones that are over ear noise cancelling, and they look nice? Budget $200
Gabriel Flores
I meant only that I would stick with my initial decision, the HD600. I'll still read reviews though.
Brayden Morgan
I was about to get the Fostex TH-X00 then I learned about these.

So they can fall out and I can accidentally step on them and I'll be out $100 instead of $10. What a crock of shit.
Dominic Myers
I have $500 IEMs that I use for working out and I've used it for the last 3 years and it's never gotten even close to getting damaged.
IEMs that have good fit won't just randomly come out of your ear even with strenuous exercise.
Tyler Robinson
>workout >headphones do you mean headphones or earphones
can't imagine it would turn out very well for your ears with the former.
I just use those in ear earphones with the cord that goes behind the ear when I go running.
Alexander Cook
Just get the TH-X00 Teaks have little to no customer support, take forever to ship, and are extremely overhyped. t. former teak owner
Samuel Bell
I have a good pair of behind-the-ears, but the issue with them is that they're in-ear. In-ear headphones have one big problem if you plan to do anything with them. Especially running. You greatly increase your risk of becoming a human bumper ornament.
Oliver King
Will they snap if I hang them like this or is it ok?
Tyler Torres
Gonna get some 770s as my first pair of good headphones. Am I making the right choice?

it's just to me, the detachable cables is worth $100 already to me because I don't want to have to permanently scar an expensive set of headphones (the Fostex in this case) just so I can have the same, even if it ends up being much cheaper.
i'll probably do a really messy soldering job or whatever I have to do and it'll always haunt me that I ruined the headphones even if it's perfectly functional.
Christopher Gomez
Get Custom Studios. They're the same as DT770 80 Ohm's with more features.
Cameron Thompson
>always plugged in Fiio E10K from the front USB port >plug in from back now

Yes they are very good and have excellent low end. Imho 770's are THE entry headphones.
Jason Sanchez

Adrian Turner
do dt990 have excellent low end too?
Aaron Hernandez
They'll snap anyways.
Justin Myers
I wouldn't recommend placing 24/7 stress on the headband like that, and I'd recommend doing youtube.com/watch?v=iNxK-NwSR5U right now if you haven't already. Follow the instructions in the video and they'll never snap.
Jaxon Parker
They're a bit too expensive for me. Also I'm getting the 32 ohm one because I want my phone and a new laptop I'm getting to be able to drive it. I'm a poorfag and don't have enough eurobucks for an amp.
Dominic Stewart
770 and 990 are entirely different. 990 have less and it's also different low-end. Don't really know how to describe it really. One thing you should know about 990 is that they are more harsh than the 770 because the different low end. If you are treble sensitive the 990 are not for you.
Eli Allen
>32 Ohm Bad choice for any beyerdynamic that isn't specifically designed to work that way. Those low Ohm headphones sound different. Have you already filled out the form? I don't see it, filling it out would help both you and us.

M40X's are alright for travel headphones. Maybe look into XPT100's or Status CB-1/NC27's?
Owen Brooks
$55 for used M40x - is it good price?
Ethan Collins
Neither are available here. I've been looking more into the 80 ohm 770s, some people say they don't need an amp perse? Should I be listening to that or are they just retarded?
Cameron Collins
Sennheiser HD25
Jaxon Davis
You know what fuck it I'm getting the 80 ohms. Figure I just use my laptop and desktop to drive them until I get the cash to get an amp. I know I'm gonna regret not getting them. Would something from Schiit do the job for an amp? Beyond my price point
Justin Bell
They're the weird in between of 'These be powered off a phone' and 'I might need an amp'. If your phone or PC can't run them loud enough to your desired volume, they'll need an amp.
Daniel Nguyen
>They're the weird in between of 'These be powered off a phone' and 'I might need an amp'. Remember phones actually tend to have decent headphone amps built in, whereas only some motherboards and soundcards do.
Nathan Barnes
Nothing too amazing.

I own a pair of K7XX's as well as a pair of HD 6XX's. Wouldn't describe either as "treble cannons"… they have more than other headphones I've tried but it's nothing terrible. I think people who say that are used to more dominant bass and midrange (which neither of these have) so even slightly emphasized treble sounds exaggerated to them.
Jack Foster
>I own a pair of K7XX's as well as a pair of HD 6XX's. How do they compare with each other? Which one do you use more?
Leo Sanders
I used to have the HD600 a couple of years ago before ending up with the HD800. Plain HD800 need some PEQ to attenuate the 6kHz peak and boost the bass but after the SDR resonator mod was released, I find that PEQ is no longer necessary.
Once you get the right setup going for the HD800 (it's not even as expensive as your HDVD 800: an Apex Arete solid-state amp paired to Schiit Modi Multibit DAC), it's hard to get back to the HD600 which sound lifeless and low resolution in comparison.
Isaiah Jackson
Not him but I'm .
I've always preferred the Q701 to HD600/650 since they have a larger stage and more aggressive sound signature while still remaining relatively neutral. I primarily listen to EDM and there is no doubt that the AKG is more suited to this genre.
Michael Nelson
I use the K7XX's more by a good margin. The HD 6XX's clamp is too tight for long sessions, which I'm working on by bending the metal bits a bit each time I wear them. This helps but the process takes a bit.
The K7XX's have a better soundstage, making them nicer for games. I tend to like them better for electronic music (trance/EDM/etc), where the HD 6XX sounds better with genres centered around analog instruments (rock/classic rock/jazz/etc).
Nolan Rogers
>Q701 Is there any difference in sound between K701 and Q701?
Cooper Gutierrez
Yeah that is a good price. However you won't be able to tolerate how uncomfortable they are. I use offbrand sony XB950 pads
I'd just go with the Somic MM185/Status Audio CB-1 or the NVX XPT100 when you factor in earpad price
Also does anyone know if these are 1:1 copies of the Brainwavz? They look extremely similar though they might not be as thick.
I currently have a Fulla 2, but I'm thinking about getting the DAC X6 for the extra power and for shits and giggles. However, some of the reviews for it claim it colors the sound to be warmer than normal. Have anyone experienced this?
Tyler Miller
Redpill me on m1060s
Charles Brown
Whew, I guess /hpg/ fooled me into thinking that the K7xx is a worthless piece of trash.
Aiden Green
I don't know if it's still available, but I bought an E11K from FiiO about three years ago and it's been insane value. I'd highly recommend it as a portable amp, the literal only downside being that they made the case curved so it doesn't nestle snug flat against a phone. amazon.com/FiiO-Portable-Headphone-Amplifier-Black/dp/B00MFMW29I
Sebastian Miller

Only 50 euros there. Might get it there then. Hope it's gonna arrive in one piece.

The all-black color scheme does look lame, build quality is lame all around especially since it's held by 2 plastic tubes basically
I don't know how other headphones with headstraps work. I like the look personally, but I fear for the elastic wearing out. Replacing that in the future will probably be a pain.
Jordan Bennett
DAC X6 or FX PH-A1? I have a Creative Audigy internal sound card if that takes care of the DAC.
Isaac Watson
For what it's worth, I've had mine for about year and 8 months now. With moderate usage, I haven't seen any signs of wear yet.
I don't throw my stuff around, though. I only use my nicer headphones at my desk and when they're not being used they're hanging on a stand. YMMV.
Jaxon Sanchez
halp do i buy magni/modi with He-400i or Fiio A5 with shure se 535 on one hand i'm not sure if IEMs are worth spending that much money, but at the same time i feel like i would like the portability. I still don't know if i listen to more music outside or inside my house so please help
