Miners are cancer, should I get a 1060 or 1070?

Ryzen 5 build

1060 6 GB if you're running at 1080p, 1070 if you're running at 1440p

miners are making money, anybody making more money then you is cancer, i get it bro, just WAIT FOR NAVI WAIT FOR THIS TIME ITS REAL i promise,

when has poo ever lied about loo.

The miners are generally poor neets. If you really want to get rich you get a job. But instead you have fat whites hoping to make $10 off of mining.

If you can get either (since miners are buying both)
1060 for cheaper sohrt term, but less longevity
1070 for more money now, but longer usage.

Both have the same TMU and ROP count in reality but 1070 has more shaders, so it'll do more effects and will do a reasonable effects setting for longer than the 1060 could.

That's why you buy the 1060 6gb version.

That's the worst version...
1060 3GB and 470/570/480/580 4GB are about to get real cheap and real available.

>miners are making money, anybody making more money then you is cancer,

It's "than" not "then". 2nd grade grammar is hard, huh?

>6 gb version over the 3 gb version
>$100 more for a 0.5% increase in performance
You have to be a literal retard to go with 6gb.

>Spends all their parents money to buy an effective rig
>Just about breaks even
>Still lives in the basement
>Market flooded with other NEETs trying to do the same
>No longer profitable
>All we've done is fuck up the GPU market

Yeah I'll pass. I have a real job.

Not if you plan to mod literally any game after 2012

It's not even that, (although you're wrong) Miners need the higher memory versions for the nxxt difficulty rise in Etherium.

Wait for vega

>1000

When are the 250$ coming out.

>1070
1080s aren't much more expensive where I am (apparently the 1070 isn't a bad mining card but the 1080 for some reason is awful at it, due to gddr5x or some crap)

Most of the miners are buying hundreds if not thousands of GPUS, you're idea of them being neets is wrong, they're unscrupulous chinese who will glady burn down an entire apartment complex for their mining.

So that's how Grenfell happened.

No that's just the excuse the neets are using to justify the lack of returns from their shitty efforts to get rich quick

>tfw I work in a building called 'Grenfell Centre'
too close too home.
Although, no one is mining here, we now have the most expensive electricity in the world.

3gb version is a big nope if you want to play future games, VRAM limitation on a capable chip is one of the worst experiences you can get

>then you

True, but also doesn't matter.
Eth difficulty will kill 3GB cards in the next week.

3GB USED 1060's are about to be real cheap, if you have a friend needing GPU, very soon is the time to buy, even if the GPU will have a limited lifespan due to both limited VRAM and potential fan failure.

I'll take twenty.

I disagree. You can mine AND have a job.
Also, with only one good GPU you can get like $100 per month

>about to be real cheap
why

Not enough VRAM (only 3 GB) on the cards to mine efficiently anymore.

Buy a 1080 since it's the same price as a 1070. If miner programs ever utilize GDDR5X then it will skyrocket in value and you can flip it and buy a cheap 3 GB 1060.

Also I hope everyone bought yesterday and sold today!

Post your hash rates.
1080+1070+1060 77 MH/s @ 300 W (not including system power).

1080p = 1060 6GB
1440p = 1070
ultrawide 1440p = 1080
4K = 1080 Ti

Get a matrox unless you're a Sup Forums tier gaymur.

I'll sell you my 1060 6GB I use as a mining card/physx card alongside my 1080 Ti. Only $600, such a steal :^)

>Not having a dedicated GTX 1080 for Physx
Pleb

>mfw gtx 660ti

as long as you don't play AAA games and want to decode 8k you will be more than fine with a legacy card, in case you actually have one. Theres a huge correction for both BTC and ETH ahead that will certainly drop prices.

This is completely wrong, miners don't pick 3gb version because of poor resale potential and less cuda cores than 6gb one.

Priorities, user :^)

Quick: what's a DAG? If you google you lose.

Not OP, but what if I wanted to run at 1080p for the next 4-5 years?

DAG is loaded up on gpus to mine eth, but it won't be larger than 3gb for another year or so, 3gb cards will be still fine for mining eth.

Does that include electricity bill?
Please answer

>what if I wanted to run at 1080p for the next 4-5 years?
In 4-5 years nobody will be running at 1080p anymore, hopefully.

I got an 1060 for a R5 build, but only because I had too much budget left over and found one for 300$

>bought a 1060 6gb for $230 at the start of summer.
Could I sell it for a profit now?

Check how much they're going for on fleabay.

You could sell it for over $400 and pick up a 1080 yeah.

then get a 1070

$400? Shit. I see them going around 350-375. Could I get that much if I've only gotten about 20-30 hours on it so far?

don't be stupid anonymous, nobody who mines bitcoins pays for their own electricity.

I do but I hate money and I hate the environment but like computers so I'm really just satisfying three desires at once.

I'm running a 900p in the current year.
Anything is possible.
My little experiment is to keep using this thing until it just gives up and dies.

I used a 2006 Dell Ultrasharp for 11 years and it died this summer. RIP.

RIP. Dell makes good monitors. But at least it gave you a chance to upgrade.
Mine's a cheap Positivo monitor from around 2006 too. The good thing is that this resolution isn't too demanding on the gpu, and I like it more than 720p.
Even when this monitor dies, I think I may end up getting another 1440x900 one. It's a light enough resolution for cheap graphics cards to handle, and when I get a better card I can just downscale everything.

I went directly to another Dell Ultrasharp. 16:10 or bust.

They don't make big enough 900p monitors for me to really consider one. They are dirt cheap if you buy them refurbished off ebay though.

You're a man of great tastes and my nigga.

I'll have to agree with that, though. They are all pretty small, which is a shame.
