Anyone else here 500FirePaper w/greyscale on masterrace?
Jordan Torres
Been thinking about upgrading my S6 to an S7, just because they are so cheap now.
The only thing that would be a downgrade is going from 64GB internal to 32GB internal, with the option to add an SD card though
And the speaker is considerably worse on the s7.
Still the better Camera, battery life, better soc, etc all do seem worth it
Juan Murphy
If you don't mind Touchwiz then go for it. S6 probably won't be getting Android O but S7 definitely will. S7 also has IP68 water resistance, S6 doesn't.
Liam Thompson
I actualy like touchwizz, coupled with Nova launcher to get rid of the bullshit, it adds some pretty good stuff.
Split screen multitasking, the calender app is really good and also the browser is the best I've used so far.
Juan Brown
Imo, Touchwiz has the best camera app and screenshot utilities. Being able to scroll capture and crop before saving really speeds up my shit posting.
(pic related)
Aiden Cooper
Is that the s8?
Cameron Wood
Those screenshot features exist in some other android skins too, but I really really wish it was in stock android too. Hate having to go to the gallery to crop screenshots.
Benjamin Long
Yeah, pretty happy with it so far. Aside from the button, bixby is mostly noninvasive.
Also touchwiz looks pretty good once you theme away the baby blue colors and load a launcher.
That was the only reason I stopped using lineage os when I had an s7.
I think you should go for it. The upgrade from the s6 to s7 was massive for me. Just make sure to buy the edge; the screen is it's biggest selling feature imo.
Touchwizz with a few minor tweaks and a custom launcher is already buttery smooth and more than fast enough for me on the s6.
On the s7 it will only get better due to the better soc, so I don't care that in benchmarks the pixel might do better to be honest. The Phone offers plenty enough besides good performance to entice me to get it
Ryan Morris
Drop the pixel in water then see how well it performs that bench.
Benjamin James
Water resistance wasn't the issue at discussion at here, it's Touchwiz's shitty performance.
>Of all the current generation high-end phones that I have used (and I’ve used most of them), the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have the worst performance when it comes to scrolling and smoothness of UI. Even though the LG G6 and the Google Pixel have the previous-generation Snapdragon 821processor, they fare better in this regard. Much cheaper phones from Xiaomi have a smoother UI as well.
Lucas Johnson
drop the s8 on anything at all then see... nothing because the screen just shattered
Liam Ross
Scrolling and smoothness of ui can all be tweaked with Nova launcher
David Baker
Nova only changes the home screen and app drawer, everything else is still Touchwiz
Landon Cooper
Nope, Nova launcher also has settings to tweak animations/animation speed and scrolling
Justin Jenkins
Those only apply for the animations and scrolling on the home screen and app drawer, it even says so in the Nova settings
Asher Martin
You're only right about the scrolling part, the app animation and animation speed apply to opening and closing apps or switching between them.
One setting is even called animation speed
John Hill
>the app animation and animation speed apply to opening and closing apps Yes, from the home screen or the app drawer, like I said. Doesn't do anything when switching between the apps, try to change the animation and see for yourself. Believe me, the Nova settings apply only for Nova itself, not the whole UI. For that you have to use the developer settings.
Benjamin Hernandez
Hey Sup Forums, my S7 Edge is working fine and normal except for one thing: there's a notification badge on Google Maps and I absolutely cannot get rid of it. I use Nova Launcher, so I could just hide the badge, but I'm not the sort who sweeps stuff under the rug; I've gotta actually get rid of dust when I'm cleaning the house, so to speak.
Googling has got me nowhere, so I'm turning here. How do I get rid of that badge? How did it even come about? It just showed up yesterday out of the blue.
Henry James
Should I get international s8+ even though in us?
Justin Ross
What are some of the best flagship killers on the market atm for less than $200? US and unlocked, would like it to be phablet-sized and a steal for the price with all the features presented. Also a good core would be nice
Joshua Davis
Will it have warranty? The Exynos version is better than the Snapdragon in the US model.
Logan Martinez
How many times are you going to ask the same question?
Wyatt Williams
Until I get a definite answer
Adrian Lopez
There isn't one. You've been suggested several phones in the previous threads, just pick one already
Matthew Russell
Have you tried clearing app data for Maps?
Cameron Nguyen
No, what exactly would that do?
John Price
clear the app data. other option is to uninstall and reinstall Maps.
Is it a good deal? Why did the price dropped so much in such short time after launch?
Connor Rogers
give it to me straight, ATM I am using a phone with SD 800 SoC, considering how powerful and efficient the 835 is will it be worth it to fork out some 750 eur for a new phone once they start coming out? G7/S9/Oneplus6 etc...
Thats a lot of cash, got my phone for 250 eur in 2014 and forking out so much cash makes my butt clench
Jace Ramirez
No, all that is synced to your Gmail account, it only removes the local copy, once it syncs again it all comes back.
Nathan Kelly
*Google account
Michael Walker
Thing is, there's literally no point in spending that stupid amount of money on a flagship smartphone, especially if your butt clenches while thinking about it.
Midrange phones are more than capable of accomplishing everyday tasks. Usually flagships sport good cameras and some gimmick nobody really care about. Thing is, with the money you save from buying a flagship, you can buy an entry level reflex that will make way better photos than any of the flagships.
Any new SoC will be more efficient and powerful than the previous; the question you should ask yourself is "that increase in power and efficiency is going to benefit my everyday user experience in any meaningful way?".
Charles Stewart
not worth it, just get another 250€ phone
Isaiah Sanders
I'm
Jeremiah King
That phone's been on sale for $149 before on Amazon, but with that 15% discount it's not much more expensive
Here's what I'm down to. I can largely figure this out from specs, but I want to hear some user feedback:
Do any of these have no bloatware? How about the least bloatware?
Which one would be the best for N64/PSX-level emulation? (Higher is always better, but not necessary.)
Samuel Ward
No.
Alexander Perez
Cancer and cancer Moto G5+
Jacob Rogers
OP and Axon 7 both have near stock ROMs, with almost no bloat, LG's ROM has a skin but it isn't that heavy, not that much bloat either. S7's android skin is furthest from stock and has the most bloat, but also many features that people might consider useful.
Best for emulation would be the OP phones, the ROM is lightweight and well optimized and the resolution is also less (1080p, the others are 1440p). Though any of the phones you mentioned will run N64/PSX perfectly, even way weaker phones will. For something like Dolphin you'll want a SD835.
Lucas Evans
>Recommended Chinkphones $80-$300 as of a long time ago (outdated)
>outdated
Well, we should update it then.
Carter Lee
>Yes, from the home screen or the app drawer > Doesn't do anything when switching between the apps, try to change the animation and see for yourself
It works for apps from all screens, not just the home screen, I just tried it
Kayden Clark
So my nexus5x finally died after almost 2 years of abuse. Can't decide if I should go for OP3T or LG V20. I can get both for roughly 300-350usd here in south east asia. The OP3T is the ""better"" phone but I'm hesistant to go for oneplus because they're shady as fuck while my experience with LG phones as always been good.
Any suggestions /spg/?
Jonathan Ramirez
What other screens are there?
Blake Price
Anyone still using a Galaxy Note 4? How's it doing?
Adrian Hernandez
Regarding Huawei P10 reportedly ships in different memory configurations.
Is there a way to know that I am buying the LPDDR4 + UFS 2.1 and not a getting a raw deal?
Lincoln Scott
Any chance the note 7 FE will come in the language of liberty?
Brandon Anderson
Not beforehand I think, but I think it was mainly China that got the eMMC one. They were only using eMMC because they didn't have enough UFS chips in stock, later batches should all be UFS. Just buy it from somewhere that allows returns.
Michael Sanchez
How does a screenshot look with this phone?
Charles Jenkins
Like normal but with a dead space in the center top.
Jackson Myers
I had the s7 it had bloat. No questions there. Not as much bloat tho. And I think most can be disabled/uninstalled/all can be packagedisablerDisabled.
Dominic Sanders
>nexus 5x died >nexus 5 (2013) still alive and running decently Shit lads, will I EVER have a phone as reliable as the trusty N5? Post your jelly faces when you will never experience the pleasure of owning one for its full lifetime
Jason Morris
>that shit battery life no thanks
Hunter Richardson
What are some of the best old-flagships which can be bought for a cheap price and preform superb at their prices? US and unlocked
Luis Hill
Why not just put the camera in the bottom. What the fuck is the point of ruining the display.
Jack Diaz
Looking to get a new phone have the LG Escape 3 currently.
US, Cricket for my carrier. Would like something with long battery life and decent camera since I'm a boat mechanic I take lots of pics/video calls for clients who are out of town. Ideally I'd like to spend $200 or less.
Ryan Morales
How cheap?
Daniel Robinson
Moto G5 Plus, 2/32 version is $185 with Amazon prime, $230 without. 4/64 version is $240 with Prime and $300 without. It's also possible to get Best Buy to price match the Amazon prime prices.
Jack Baker
Also, iPhone SE from Cricket is $170 for the 16gb version and $230 for 64gb, another good choice.
Ian Price
What's a good website to purchase replacement parts? I need to replace my Nexus 6p screen.
Has anyone purchased parts from Fixez?
Joshua Adams

Connor Wright

Jacob Peterson

Jackson Carter
I should add that Verizon is throwing in a free speaker mod with the Z2
Jace Hall
Time to upgrade from my old and slow Galaxy S5.
Alexander Rogers
Z Force. Z2 Play has literally shit-tier SoC
Hunter Nguyen
Yup, just put the SIM in the new phone (as long as it's the same size)
Julian Brooks
Help me out Sup Forums
I'm a poor student who is using fucking tracfone which runs off verizon towers. What is the best phone I can get that I can activate on tracfone for under $150? Thanks
Thomas Clark
Same boat my friend. Can't fucking decide at all.
Mason Hernandez
Leaning towards the Pixel as it is the cheapest option for me desu.
Planning on trying to have it last around 3 years as well, so software updates are a consideration as well
Owen Carter
Want to replace my mxpe But installed LOS 14.1 and it works just fine
Ethan Thompson
Just wait awhile longer. So many new phones will be dropping in Q4
and pixel is shit
Josiah Johnson
As far as I understand, Motorola G4 / G4 Play / G4 Plus should work. Not sure about the Moto E4, it works on Verizon but don't know about Tracfone.
Dylan Hill
Lg g6
Tyler Sanders
Mi Max 2
Ethan Ortiz
It was outdated
Jackson Robinson

>trying to find a high quality phone around 350 or less in 2017 >I just want to replace my Oneplus One with something that isn't garbage, for fuck's sake >Somehow the smartphone market has gotten worse since 2014
