Rushed release and non-soldered IHS

...

>$600 more expensive than a 1800x
>At best 30% faster in most tasks
>$300 x299 motherboards that overheat, potentially leading to housefires by igniting cables
>Mayonnaise instead of solder
>400w peak power consumption with a small overclock
>Temperatures of 100c with AIO

>At best 30% faster in most tasks
And actually worse in some others due to the L2/L3 cache being rearranged.

and will certainly be worse than a cheaper and less power hungry THREADRIPPER

Surely there are some benchmarks that have the 7900x at least with a 30%
If not that's just embarrassing
Delid this

Where I live:

7800X :449€
X299 MB: starting at 260€
4x4Gb ddr4 2666 ram 180€
Watercooling AIO : 62€ for a shitty one 120mm2
Total : 951€ platform cost, and you're still likely to hit throttle range.

R7 1700:
CPU: 370€
B350 MB: starting at 90€
2x8Gb 2666Mhz ram: 142€
Cooling: 0€
Total 602€

Slight performance advantage to the 7800X.
Over 50% more price, and dealing with running the Sun in your room.
You should also be able to save on power supply, as the R7 1700 consumes less than half the power of the 7800X.

It exists.

Video going over the cache/arch changes and some benchmarks showing Skylake-X either winning really big or losing really big youtube.com/watch?v=3VV_It9kdrs

Thanks Google.

Der8ur says all X299 boards are basically fire hazards if you OC. youtube.com/watch?v=f7BqAjC4ZCc

Seems like Silicon Lottery is having trouble with the X299 boards when OCing too. overclock.net/t/1631319/skylake-x-binning/150#post_26189935

I wonder why Intel mobos are always so fucking expensive.

That's one of my main reasons to stay with AMD.

Beats me, looks pretty much perfect to me! Marketing really did a bang-up job. The redesign of the heatspreader really tells me "new-and-improved". It's a stroke of genius to bump it up to "i9". I bet they saved that one for when their back was really against the wall! And then "X-series" on top of that. I literally came.

Chipsets aren't cheap, goy. Pay up.

Probably something to do with the PC-I lanes, since Intel though it would be a good idea to pair a $350 CPU with a bunch of lanes it cant even use

The fuck? "High-end" boards can't handle fucking 10core? 18core will melt them.

Rumors of an upcoming X299v2 are starting to sound much more likely.

>300W through the 8 pin.
At this point, it's just criminal to even allow overclocking on those boards.

LITERAL HOUSEFIRES TOP KEK

INTEL IS FINISHED AND BANKRUPT

>mfw x299v2 motherboards will need 8+4 or 2x8 pin just for a stock 18 core

inb4 X299v1 not compatible with 18 cores.
Or downclocked to 2 Ghz.

I wonder how expensive those will be.

That useless VRM in X299.. Better off with mounted fan.

$400.

but some x299 boards already have 8+4 or 8+8

> Not 777$
Not Jewish enough.

>Intel stock price is shitting the bed

I was about to invest a month or so ago too.

It became worse than the FX-9000 because at least the AMD housefire has qualified and capable motherboards at its disposal.

>investing in intel
good goyim give me those sheckles like the good little pay piggy you are

>Invest
>Stock goes up
>sell
>wait for it to go down/buy something else that is already down
>repeat

you sure got me, Schlomo.

platform wasn't mature enough as gap filler between xeon and i7 which are currently glorified i5s

possible the team at haifa didn't scale properly from skylake 6700k which was a fairly good start

in as much kaby lake still held ground with what it could, the i9 was more of a redacted reactive response

intel stock has stagnated for years until now, now its dropping, honestly if you invest in intel its no wonder you stay poor

I literally said i didn't.
Come on buddy, keep up.

In fact, i'm dubious about investing in any current level processing - moore's law is clearly on its last legs, and until quantum computing happens it's sort of going nowhere.

My main focus stock wise these days is bioscience, specifically CRISPR research.

>I literally said i didn't.
>I was about to invest a month or so ago too.

>about to

>HE INVESTED WHAT AN IDIOT

>about
>to

>then saw how bad of an idea it is.

Are you actually retarded?

price. there isn't much wrong with the chips themselves other than bad TIM. they're just not good enough to warrant the cost over ryzen.

even being about to is retarded intel stock is something i wouldn't touch with a 100 ft pole

Mayo

>quantum computing

Quantum computing is a MEME
wont make your games faster or better

company 'x' decided it can make a lot of money from overweight-basement-dwelling-gaymer-faggots
so theres that

>Rushed release
>Out of spec mobos
>No solder
>Prices too high
>New L2/L3 cache setup needs specific optimizations to work properly
>Insane power draw due to pushing the limits of the architecture

Just to name a few

Everything is a meme.
Cake receipies are memes, the word "hello" is a meme.

RFID chip.

Saying meme is a meme

intel jew jizz (tm)

Failed to base it on the 6950X and take shit to the next level, while handling that abysmal 240W while OC'd

Failed to drop the 6950X to 1200-1000 and/or below and atchas their i9 series gets dominated by their ancestor CPUs

i911(TM), compatible with ambulance-299 chipset!

AVX512 and gambling too much on their fab tech to overcome the difficulties in making massive monolith dies.

Intel knows that fucked up with Broadwell-E and are already in the process shifting gears in their HEDT and enterprise-tier chip designs.
