Waterfox CPU Usage Bug

Ever since the last update my Waterfox installation has been having crazy CPU usage spikes, especially on Youtube. We're talking spikes of 80-90% CPU usage on a 4690k just trying to pause a Youtube video.

Anybody else having this issue?

Same fucking thing with pale moon, only worse.. 120%

Were you using flashplugin? or html5?

the fuck OP? i have 4 tabs + youtube video running and it's only 20-10% cpu usage

pentium E5800

Use Chrome Web Browser™ by Google™.

Yeah I know somethings clearly fuckey.

html5. Tried disabling hardware acceleration, updated flash, and updated drivers but to no effect.

My only plugins are Ghostery and Ublock. I'm guessing one of those are causing the issue.

I checked my temps to make sure the CPU fan isn't fucked causing thermal throttling but the CPU is at 36C with a few tabs and a Youtube video running.

try disabling ghostery, if nothing changes backup your bookmarks and do a clean reinstall

Is there a reason to use Waterfox?
Firefox is 64 bit with multithreading already.

>Ghostery
People still install this adware?

No telemetry or data collection.

Tried disabling Ublock and Ghostery. No difference. Gonna reinstall and see if that helps. TY user.

Sexy icon (but you can change Firefox's icon to it anyways) and not having to dick with about:config to get a privacy and speed focused build

It's really just the lazy man's firefox

I knew at least one person would call me out on it. Are there better alternatives?

Decentraleyes, uBlock Origin, uMatrix, HTTPS Everywhere, self destructing cookies, and noscript are the generally accepted privacy tools

Privacy badger

Why use a public trip?

Its literally a box you can tick off in Firefox, they even warn you about it when you first install. How is that any harder than dealing with obscure issues?

Literally ricing my posting

Are you on waterfox 54.0-1? I don't have any issues with high CPU usage.

>tfw no wind/earth fox web browser.

Yep. Guess I'm just unlucky.

First issue I've ever had with Waterfox. Obviously if I can't resolve it I'll just install Firefox but Waterfox has grown on me so I'd rather not if it's not necessary.

Thanks guys.
