Oh, and it's better than Windows 7.

(You)

Why?

>it's better than Windows 7
Any arguments? Of course, not.

If you like telemetry, stay with Windows 10 and I'll stay with Windows 7. Okay?

>I still keep getting random Service Host: File History taking up my entire disc space for 10 seconds every now and then.
>Recent updates have made it so unplugging my audio interface blue screens.
Not better than 7 yet, and this is after shutting off a ton of services.

Has it solved the boot deprecation problem starting from Vista onwards where if you plug a shitload of USB devices cold boot can take triple or quadruple the boot time?

not yet. but next year it will probably be, after it gets that sandboxing feature.

> (OP)
>I'll stay with Windows 7. Okay?

Have fun with your ransomware

I don't care. I can just install Windows 7 again using the ISO.

>Trusting Microsoft

They added telemetry to windows 7 ever since 2015.

Stop with this stupid meme. Pic related is telemetry in Windows 7 and it's opt-in, disabled by default.

Meanwhile there is NO official way to turn off telemetry in 10.

...

...

too hard

better reinstall arch again

You realize that when you do stuff like this, it just hurts the developers who put their blood, sweat, and tears into such a great operating system, right?

> Actually thinking that a button press would save from it

...

>Windows 10 is perfectly fine now
Stop deluding yourself.

0 (Security) doesn't mean off, it's just the lowest setting.

just like windows 7 always had basic "telemetry", which included appcrash reports, compatibility reports, update checks and licence checks

it's the same fucking shit, except now you actually know about it

if you were able to read you would see in the article that he corrected his mistake and it still sent data regardless of the setting. nt pajeet

>try excel 2013
>Have to wait for hotkeys help to finish their animation in order for my query to be finished
>Alt+O+S+O+N takes 5 fucking seconds to complete because of the animating cascade bullshit.
>only way to disable it is to disable all of the fucking animations on the entire fucking OS

No, it's not the same. Appcrash reports and shit are also optional in 7.

The western life is a Jewish BOTNET.

>Windows 10 is perfectly fine now.
>no proofs
Of course.
>Oh, and it's better than Windows 7.
Wow great argument fagtron you sure convinced me with those hot opinions.

W7 was the last "good" version of Windows and it didn't come with any buttnut unless you installed specific Windows Updates released during/after the W8 lifetime. It used to be my daily driver until I switched to GNU+Linux, and even now I prefer it to W10. If I have to dual boot a system with an x64 CPU, I'll definitely slap in W7. W10 is cancer and even the U.S. government is trying to get away from it by tempering with BSD-derived operating systems.

The day Win 10 dropped, I gave Mint a try. Liked it so much that I use it exclusively on all my PCs except for one old HP Slimline from 2005, which doesn't connect to the internet. I use that for importing custom ringtones to my iPhone.

Fuck off, shill and take your crippled spyware backdoor OS with you

>plug in a 2 GB USB drive
>see this
Yeah, it's great

RIP Microsoft, having to hire shills like this

jesus fuck.
this is no good.

I would rather go without a PC than deal with that.

That's right my white friend, those Windows 7 machines haven't received the update. So that is why you get the virus.

Windows 10 is a great operating system we have designed. Upgrade is available for you. If you are on Windows 10 you will have no problem sir.

Actually, there are still problems such as spying...

DO THE NEEDFUL AND UPDATE TO WINDOWS 10 SIR!!!!!!!!!!!

>says microsoft
jesus christ

>Clicking Accept without reading the EULA
FUCKING MADMAN

What a rebel.

Thanks for the update, Microsoft, guess I'll switch!

"Disabled" still means off...

This is 98 vs XP all over again....

No it doesn't, read the fucking description.

Except that was never really an argument. From a security standpoint, 98 until SP2. If you're not connected to the internet, XP no matter what.

>Please take control over "my" """"personal"""" computer MS overlords
No thanks pajeet.

...

That's right pakshit

>Windows 10 is perfectly fine now

LIAR

>Oh, and it's better than Windows 7

YOU FUCKING LIE

You know what I find atrocious is it says you can ""disable"" it in the settings. Why have that there? It's literally being dishonest to the user.

Windows is adware now, it really is. I mean what else keeps doing it even if you pick the option not to? ADWARE

It always has been. But that won't make me use a malwareOS. GNU > Windows.

Nah homeskillet it's certified garbage I run it on my games box for muh graphics but it's certainly not something I'd do anything important on or use for pleasure.

>It's literally being dishonest to the user.
You really think a large corporation would just lie to their users? Wew lad.

W10 is everything I hate with where technology is headed

still get free porn. dont care lol.

I know you're trolling, but that mindset actually disgusts me.

this

You do know there’s a difference between the telemetry updates they started to push out right before Windows 10 came out and that setting you’re showing off right?

WHAT'S THE MATTER FAGGOT WOMAN OR MUSLIM LMAOLL

Do you?

this is really the basis for class action

i noticed that when i disabled my RT tablet's wireless function it would still acquire several GBs of "update" info over a day

fuck microsoft in the ass; i'm glad to have an obscure windows 7 installer with a crack to every version

You have no idea how much the phrase "do the needful" posses me off

...

i agree. it's a well balanced os that even runs good on older hardware.

That article does not dispute anything. It just says its “optional” updates. Even though Microsoft has put these telemetry updates in recommended patches either way. The author even says he can’t confirm it doesn’t collect anything.

Fuuuuuck

Is this even remotely legal? The EU is gonna have a field day with this, another 10-11 digit fine incoming

built in search is integrated with Store and bing, show us something new that might actually threaten my privacy oh wait you fucking can't just like dozens of those shitty clickbait journalism sites can't because you are all retards who don't know any better

there are legit reasons to dislike windows10, but "le spying botnet" Sup Forums kool-aid isnt one of them.

>Allow telemetry : Disabled
retarded nucuck-male imbecile didn't read the policy description, stating you have to "ENABLE" the policy and pick the appropriate setting

>better than windows 7

HAHAH, fuck you, fucking shill. last night, I tried to change the taskbar icons to not group and hide text and I got a literal fucking bluescreen at the exact same moment I changed the setting from the dropdown menu. 30 minutes later, I was playing some shitty videogame and got booted off because of an update (system literally rebooted itself with no option to cancel). I got so fucking mad I smashed my Win 7 USB in and reformatted all of my drives (even the ones without the OS present, just to be sure) and went back to 7. installed updates the important updates, turned them off and am as happy as ever with my fresh install of 7.

I almost had enough when I tried to install a torrent client and a big popup told me NAH BRO INSTALL IT FROM THE STORE LMOA!!, but this was too much.

FUCK windows 10 and FUCK microsoft, if I ever have to switch from 7 im going Linux.

1. Fast and More secure : Windows 10 starts up 28% more quickly than Windows 7, resumes faster and comes with more security features than ever.
Also better for gaming, better for upcoming drivers. Windows 7 is 8 years old its tired....

a list of what ACTUALLY gets collected on "Basic" telemetry setting:
>Your BIOS manufacturer, date, and version
>Which IE version you are running
>Whether you have cameras in the computer, and their resolution
>Whether the computer is capable of using and has enabled Bitlocker encryption
>The OEM manufacturer name, computer model number, model name, and edition
>The computer OEM serial number
>Whether the computer/phone is capable of voice calls
>The number of active mics in the device
>The SoC firmware manufacturer (I assume for phones)
>If you are on a cellular network, your operator, network type and region, and your unique identifiers (IMEI/MEID)
>Your OS type, version, time zone, and product key
>Your current location (GeoID)

this is false, Win 7 starts 5 seconds faster for me. tried and tested.

The EU will love it, they'll get info straight from Microsoft on who's viewing and creating wrong-think

The main benefit for Windows 10 for gamers is DX12, which an increasing amount of games are starting to use (like Battlefield 1). It's up to you if it's worth the cost.

Along with all the other replies here there is absolutely no reason to stay with Windows 7. Especially since it'll stop being supported except for enterprise applications.

Windows 7 will be supported until 2020

False, all windows version were affected more or less equally. Most infections were on windows 7 because it has the largest market share.

Tell me what is wrong with any of that

How many games use DX12?

and Vulkan >>> DX12

it doesn't match the "M$ WANTS ALL UR DATA" bogeyman that 50% of Sup Forums wants so hardly to be true

The fact that it's collected.

It literally does though. Can you not read?

it's nowhere as dramatic and mouthfoam-inducing as this clickbait

Ok, so you really can not read then.

Wow, I can't believe I could boot my computer in 5 seconds instead of 6 every 3-4 weeks when I do it. I'm gonna go ahead and install Windows 10 now along with its 47 background services and bloated app subsystem because the kernel hibernates a few things instead of doing a cold boot.
