I am about to get a G5+, is there anything else under $200 that could get my attention? Phablet-size, water resistance, and NFC would be nice.

I'm in America btw

(reposting for more responses)

I just submitted my order for a 2GB G5+. There simply isn't anything that matches the value.

>band 12
>decent international band support
>good camera
>good battery life
>good fingerprint sensor
>microSD
>$229

I looked at so many phones. The only thing in the ballpark was a 1st gen Z Play but it was $150 more for basically a type-c port and battery life

and also...great ROM community. This is something I've always appreciated after the OEM gives up.

do you think the Moto G5+ will drop further down in price during Amazon's Prime Day?

It's likely

Should I root my Galaxy Note 4? It's doing just fine and lasts all day but I want to remove all that bloatware. I don't use the fingerprint sensor or camera that often so I don't mind if I lose those. Any good ROMs for it or should I just root and stay with stock?

the presale flyer shows $5 off for the prime version

Picking between a Galaxy S7 or S8 the S8 has a bigger screen but the same pixels as the S7 correct? Also how does the Samsung VR hold up?

What presale flyer?

nice youtube links

So I would like to go case less. I'm looking for something like carbon fiber vinyl wrap. except rubbery non slip type material. Like the material on the back of the blackberry priv. Anyone have a link where I can buy a roll of it in tape form? my googlefu is letting me down.

I am looking for the cheapest phone with NFC, Australian bands and USB-C port.

Thanks. I'll wait then.

Nevermind it's for the 2GB version.

What does Sup Forums think of carrying around phablets in your pockets all day? Is it bearable?

I'm thinking of switching to a Redmi Note 4 from an Applel iOS device.

>For starters, instead of the rumored Snapdragon 660 CPU, the Moto X4 is now said to include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 chipset, which accommodates eight cores clocked at 2.2GHz. Also, the phone is now said to be powered by a 3,000 mAh battery, much smaller than the previously reported 3,800 mAh battery.

I have this same question. The redmi note 4 keeps getting recommended but I get annoyed about carrying an iphone 4s in my pocket, I cannot imagine carrying a phablet around.

How does the redmi 4 prime compare to note 4/4x?

Best choices that fit these requirements?
In order of importance

> band 12 tmobile support
> excellent battery life
> decent camera
> good performance, minimum sd 625
> fingerprint scanner
> 5.5" minimum
> $400 budget

Willing to buy used on swappa or others. Will be keeping this for minimum 2 years so longevity is important as well. Best choices so far look like, honor 8, moto z play 1st gen, 1+3t, moto g5+, axon 7, zenfone 3 zoom

>lelnovo
>implying any sane people cares about this chinkshit
Stop it, retard.

G5+

My Nexus 6p got bootloop of death, bought a oneplus 3t instead. This thing is amazing compared to the Nexus 6p. I only miss the front-facing speakers

Does anyone here have S7 Edge?

My Edge screen turned black and the blue led light glowed. I tried vol down + power, nothing. It would get to the powered by android screen then back to the start.

So I tried vol up + home + power, and forced a reboot. Something did happen, as I got to the powered by android menu, then to the repeating Samsung logo, then back to the powered by android, then to the repeating samsung logo, by this point all these green artifacts and lines appeared on the screen then the phone died completely, no more blue light.

Now it won't respond to anything, the battery was almost fully charged. It doesn't even respond to sticking the charger. Am I completely fucked or is there anything you can do?

>no more compact flagships

Question for fellow lg g3 owners
My battery has shit itself (it appears so at least, I'm getting those random reboots and boot loops). No surprise here, it's 3 years old and I've read they usually survive 1 year.
Can you recommend a good 3rd party battery? Only new akken batteries I've found are sold at 900 USD so obvious no go there
Are those akku polar cell any good?
This is the problem I'm having with my g3, if anyone can confirm it's battery related and not the mobo (running fulmics 7.5)
- The phone freezes for a couple seconds and then reboots, most of the times entering boot loop showing the lg logo, then shutting off, then lg logo etc
- Sometimes I get boot certification error or kernel crash, which I think and hope its caused by voltage spikes during boot up caused by the effective battery
- Phone works fine 95% of the time when connected to the wall charger, sometimes it still reboots
- Recovery works perfectly, have tried bumping kernel and reflashing firmware
Any help is GREATLY appreciated

I want to buy a wireless charger for my Lumia. Should I buy original from Microsoft or are there any good other manufacturers?

No 5,5" anons to help us out?

I wear skinny-fit jeans and I can't even feel the 5,5" oneplus 3t in my pocket

Is it worth upgrading to a X Compact from a Z5 Compact? Or do they have similar hardware?

Where does Sup Forums get their (((gear vr))) porn?

X compact is faster, but looks butt-ugly and no water resistance

I got a zenphone 2

I love it, but i am probably gonna think about upgrading soon. Not because its not performing good enuoug but more I would like something more powerful.

Time spent on phone is usually;

-Using clover/chrome/reddit/youtube
-Games, but nothing intensive really and I never stick with games on my phone long, i really do only play them in the toilet
-Watching porn in bed when gf too tired to play
-taking pictures of gf ass when shes not looking then sending them to her weeks later

So my req are not high but I want something that performs fast. No apple stuf. My gf always has the latest iphone and they are such a fucking chore, not to mention everything feels slower on it, whether its just my perception or true idk. Such a pain to do what should be simple stuff like taking some images off and putting on the computer or sending video files between phones.

Duel sim is important actually, I go between two countries a lot for work so I have two sims, its been really handy with this phone just keeping them both in constantly and deactivating the unused one each time im out of the country.

Not urgent but I dont keep up with smartphone stuff, so is there anything coming out before the end of the year I should keep and eye out for? Budget is whatever I always make phones last.

If I install CWM recovery on my phone, can I still reset it later to factory settings (remove CWM again)?
Would just normally flashing the stock firmware again accomplish that?

thank you user

Is Firefox mobile better than Chrome mobile for my phone?
Also is there ublock or some equivalent ad-blocker for phones?

First time getting an actual phone after using bricks.

Install Adaway to remove ads.

You won't loose fingerprint sensor functionality and camera quality can be up to par with the one on TouchWiz ROMs if you increase saturation.
forum.xda-developers.com/note-4

Some people care about buying the most expensive phone possible and there are the oh so crazy ones who want the best value for their money. Retards, right?

>Would just normally flashing the stock firmware again accomplish that?
It would.

well, chrome is a botnet so yes.

firefox is superior

f-droid.org/app/acr.browser.lightning

Why is this shilled so much? The honor 6x is about the same cost and seems much better

Sorry if this is too paranoid or careful, but will CWM mess with my phone's ability to get into fastboot and flash mode during startup (I don't know if fastboot and flashmode are general things or phone specific terms/modes on my Sony phone)?

S8 mini, LG Q6 and hinted-at compact Sony XZs make the future seem promising.

X Compact is actually water resistant, it just isn't IP-rated outside Japan

So i just got a new phone. I have all my tabs open in chrome on my old phone and im signed in. Im signed in to chrome on my new phone. How do i transfer all these tabs across to my new phone? When i follow the instructions that chrome has, it can only show me tabs that I have recently closed on my old phone.

I bought my OnePlus 5 a week ago. It's lightning fast but everything else is mediocre. The battery feels like the OnePlus one did at first. Lasts a long time at first but wears out quickly and will hardly last an hour after a month. The fact that they only allow their own cables for fast charging is also a weak factor.

Meanwhile there is a sale on Galaxy S8+ right now where it's only about 200 USD more expensive than the OP5. Should I go for it instead?

>much better
>chink UI
>barely any ROMS available
>shit after-sales service

So if you go to "recent tabs" your other device isn't listed there with all the open tabs? Have you checked that "open tabs" is being synced? Maybe try on desktop chrome if it is showing the open tabs.

I just bought an s8 instead of the op5 for only like 100 € more, I'd say it's a no brainer. I was really looking forward to the OnePlus, it's disappointing how it turned out

The device is shown and sync is enabled on it. When i press open all it opens about a quarter of what i have open on my old phone, and most of what it opens are tabs i have closed, not ones that are currently open.

Anyone who use the Honor 8 tell me about the pros and cons I'm thinking of buying one

Read the sidebar newguy!

Bought a oneplus 3t for 499€ 2 days ago. How did I do?

I actually have that same bug (I think it's a bug) where it doesn't just show the open tabs but open AND recently closed tabs, mixed up. Is it the same even on desktop chrome?

The work-around is to bookmark all the tabs on one device and then open them all on the other one.

Do you mean OP5?

No, a oneplus 3t. I don't want a wannabe iPhone full of bugs

The only good phone that OP made as the iPlus 5 is falling apart

You over-paid by like 200€

It's sold for 439€ on oneplus.net, but shitty warranty and slow delivery. I bought mine from a local shop so I have 2 years European warranty and got it right away.

That's a lot of money for a phone that is almost one year old

meanwhile a Redmi Note 4 costs 4/64 costs $169

>ChinkshitIUI
No thanks

>I don't know how to flash custom roms
your loss

I believe what you're referring to is download mode, on most phones achieved by pressing home, volume down and power button. Custom recovery doesn't prevent or brake it.

If Telia can fix my Nexus 6p with bootloop of death, then I'll sell that for 200-300

Still way too much for a last year's model. I could get a barely used (23 months local warranty left) OP3T for less than 300€ here.

Great....all 100+ tabs

Du är efterbliven.

The problem I have with S8 is that I have heard that it's slower than OP5, filled with a lot of useless shit, not as durable as OP5 because it's made of glass and no proper screen protectors. Also at first glance the infinity display seems mostly annoying when you have to press buttons on the edges.

I need something like this. Nfc, at least a 1080 screen and something affordable i.e not a flagship device

What?

Han kanske är östsvensk.

Nokia 6

Please speak English. I don't speak swedish or w/e language you're speaking

He probably assumed you were Swedish because Telia is a Swedish company.

They think Telia is only in Sweden.
Since you don't speak Swedish at all I'll assume you're baltic.

First couple of days with my Huawei Ascend Mate 2, I was fumbling with it, getting the corners caught on my pants pocket. Once I got used to the size, I quickly adapted. I can't imagine a 'dinky' 5" phone now. That 6.1" display is the tits!

Meanwhile Telia operates in 15-16 countries

How accurate is willmyphonework.net? I'm trying to see if the Redmi Note 4X will work with Freedom Mobile in Canada, and it says it will, but I'm getting mixed results elsewhere. Anyone have any thoughts?

Try asking someone on XDA. That's your best option if the particular model you're looking for isn't available on willmyphonework.net.

No, I'm saying that it was on willmyphonework, and the site said it would work. I'm just feeling a bit wary with that being the main source of support for my online purchase.

Are you even looking at the right phone?

That's why you should check XDA threads too and perhaps custom ROM G+ pages.

Yes, thank you, but now I have more questions. The banggood page lists the phone as supporting FDD-LTE, but Freedom Mobile uses AWS LTE. Apparently they aren't the same thing, and the GSMArena page doesn't even list the same supported bands as the Banggood page. This is such a shitshow I'm not sure who to believe.

willmyphonework.net lists the Redmi Note 4X incorrectly. The Redmi Note 4X "international model" is actually the Redmi Note 4 Global

gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_note_4-8531.php#global
kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-4-global-3gb-32gb

China (High edition) and China (standard edition) is the actual Redmi Note 4X
gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_note_4x-8580.php
kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-note-4x

As far as I understand neither phone will work with Freedom but the 4 Global will work fine with most other Canadian carriers.

Thanks for figuring it out! I just want to use Freedom since I have a grandfathered plan, unlimited data for $30. The GSMArena page for the Global model actually lists it as supporting 1700/2100, which is what AWS LTE band 4 is. Which I think means that'll work!

It won't !! You will not get ANY 3G service anywhere in Canada, and 4G only in Eastern Ontario. Rest of Freedom Mobile's network is LTE Band 66/AWS-3.

Almost all phones are made in China dickwad

It doesn't take a genius to iterate on the same basic design phones have had in the past 4 years

is the swift 2x worth it? i need a phone under 200 euros. i don't play gaems. just use it for GPS, tracking my cycling, whatsapp, 4chun, and stuff

No, get a Redmi Note 4 Global

Shit, I just figured that out myself... now I'm back to stage one. I'm living in the GTA, so it's band 66 what I want. It looks as though not even the iPhone supports it, so I don't know whereto start. Any cheap chinkphones that might?
