Wedding photoshoots are supposed to look natural, but people still spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on someone who can record and edit the footage so it looks great yet still real.
These shots are the opposite of that, they look horrendously fake. Ruining the entire "natural" purpose these shots are supposed to have.

Its a jpg picture of a 1440p compressed youtube video, and still looks better than all the footage.
Eh, it looks properly exposed to me, just as you say it is a very contrasty area (midday sun will do that) and they didn't recover any of the shadows in post, which isn't a fault of the camera or cameraman.

However, the point still stands that the quality of their content (just speaking visually here) isn't something you'd expect from such expensive equipment. And even if it was amazing quality perfect shot content it still wouldn't justify blowing $200k, they're fucking tech videos on Youtube that most people watch at 720/1080p.
I've argued with them a few times trying to get a justification for spending so much and it basically comes down to "because we can" and Brandon conning Linus into believing it will improve the content in any meaningful way.

There is nothing I can do about the blown-out color and noise because I'm starting with that .jpg above. But the original color plus this contrast would have looked much better.

Have you seen the fan meetup they did shortly after they moved into that warehouse office? The LTT fanbase is mostly 12 year olds and they have slowly shifted toward catering to that audience over the years. Can't blame them, that is where all the youtube money is these days.

This. The shading in the top picture looks all dreary and washed out. The bottom picture's colors are so much more crisp.
There is a very big difference between uploading on a regular basis, and having a daily upload schedule on your main channel plus bi-weekly uploads on a couple of other channels. Compare him to similar style tech channels like JayzTwoCents and HardwareCanucks, they only upload once or twice a week tops.
