He doesn't rip, stream, or download music in the godly .flac format for lossless music
I do need it for extra space
I need it for TRIGGER WARNING

Are you saying that flac is better because it takes more space?
>wanting to accumulate more digital dust
user pls
flac is fine. dsd is perfect. Anything lossy is an insult to the artist.
>he actually thinks there's an audible difference beyond 320 mp3
>listening to music
>2014
my entire music collection in flac takes up less HDD space than a high quality movie does.
Maybe you should try owning more than 3 songs
>41gb left on 2TB drive
>owning
maybe you should try watching something that wasn't a shitty transcode
>transcoding streamed or downloaded 128kb/s mp3 to flac.

256 aac is literally all you need. Would you be willing to take a blind test so that you can fail to hear the difference between mp3/aac and lossless just like everyone else has?
that being said, it's good to keep lossless files as archives that you can use in the future to encode to whatever you need to. however keeping your flac files on your phone to listen to is just a waste of space

also, mp3 at any bitrate sounds like shit when amplified a lot
What software do you guys use to rip CDs to FLAC? Is Exact Audio Copy the best available?
>hes an audiomemeophile
>he listens to music
Only normies need music outside of gaymes and car radio
He's saying that flac and lossless codecs in general are superior (I would imagine not so much in terms of discernible quality--although flac beats 128kbps MP3 or any lossy codec with shitty compression any day--but for archival/collection purposes) to lossy, and the consumption of superfluous disk space is a necessary sacrifice if you care about the merits of lossless audio.
...
I would love to use FLAC but I can't find any of the music that I listen to in that format.
500kbps Ogg does the job and also saves more space. Win-win
