Is this the best smartwatch on the market right now?

>samshit
>best
kek'd.
it literally sold 1000 units, retard.

they are all pretty same-y, smartwatches have stagnated significantly the past few year

I like my OG urban but hauwei have some nice ones too

depends a lot on what phone you have

smartwatches seem to be constrained in phone pairing ability

For me the major selling point is the Samsung Pay with MST, but Tizen is utter shit

(((smart)))

had a g watch, 2 years later it's obsolete, also spending $200+ for notifications on your wrist with barely 1-2 day battery life is fucking retarded, don't fall for the smartwatch meme

Can smartwatches be independent?

I guess what im asking is, do I need to have a smartphone to have a smartwatch? If I could replace... podcast client, email, internet calling with a smartwatch I'd ditch my smartphone.

some can, the S3 can be a phone on its own if you pay for service

it looks stupid talking into your wrist though

I posted this over in the watch thread. It's a second gen Moto 360. It's actually been pretty awesome for the few weeks that I've been using it. They've become total phone nazis at work so this is my work around.

>smart watch
>with a fake Omega dial
>on a NATO strap

>wrist fedora

>smart watch
God damn. It's almost as bad as the vr shit that has been going for now

Do you prefer the sub face?

Cant believe no one has said GearFit2 - Sup Forums seriously needs to meme this. I got one stupidly used from fat roomate who did not get it

It's awesome !
>slick design
>Huge range of meme watch faces
>suprisingly works great with my iPhone 6s
>remote media control just worx
>cycling mode is awesome
>sleep data is useful as fuck
>days worth of battery
>fast charge mode
>ip68 water proof
>cheap !

If you cycle and love music it is literally perfect - again - this watch needs a bigger following here they nailed it.

Or maybe the Breitling

this.

Why the fuck would you wear one of these over a nice dress watch unless you're autistic?

Because of the reason I listed here

out

Because ladies are turned on when I switch my gearfit2 to "Preditor Mode" at the club.

I forgot those existed.

There was really only ever one option, user.

>Vomits

It was good user buts its 2017 and if you aren't doing OLED you aren't doing it right.

>market for smart watches
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
they are basically glorified overpriced cutdown """smart"""phones that have a small screen real estate and have very little to no features that a regular """smart"""phone cant do. They have no practicality over any smartphones released in the past 5 years. In fact, some smartwatches require proprietary software from your smartphone to ever be """smart""". So there is NO REAL practicality to any smartwatch other than getting a bit of attention.

Incorrect: they work and do a few things well if you just got given one you would use it and not give it back - buying one however......

>for notifications on your wrist

And calculations. And alarms. And mobile payments. And a voice assistant. And speakerphone. And turn-by-turn navigation. And playback controls. And dictated/handwritten texts. And remote control of presentations. And a remote camera viewfinder. And a whoooooooole fuckload more, you unimaginative imbecile.

It's considerably more functional. Also, the Apple Watch is actually socially passable. Normal people wear them.

BULLSHIT. My job entails receiving dozens of 2FA texts per shift, and without my Apple Watch, I'd want to blow my fucking brains out. They're also extremely discreet. Students love them. Teachers love them. Doctors love them. They're great at workout tracking and timing, too. Coaches love them, athletes love them. (Did you know that the Apple Watch was recently confirmed to be the most accurate wrist-mounted heart rate monitor on the market?)

Pic related: the best smartwatch.

I am a recent convert.

They do a few things very well. But just aren't worth the current asking price.

If you just get given one it will change your world - 2FA is a great use case. But if you are a classic Sup Forums minimalist / KISS kinda guy it's all to easy to write them off.

a lot of those things are either fucking useless and you will never use them, or they're better off on your phone you stupid fuck

My phone kills your watch at every single one of those use cases. Try again nerd.

I would have a dumbphone be the headset for the smartphone if it had that capacity.

I am certain there are just a lot of poorfags on Sup Forums and this thread

Honestly you guys who are dead against watches look as sill as the people who were still against smartphones in 2010

give it time you own one and you will like it - but by that time you will also bitching about the people that got the "implants"

i am buying right now

What's the pic?

Im a poorfag. but that's not my issue with smartwatches. They seem kind of pointless if you have a smartphone. So it really becomes a issue of, if the smartwatch can effectively replace most functions of what makes my smartphone useful, then it becomes viable.

If a smartwatch can effectively replace the apps I use daily on my phone, I'm getting one. a user up there said the S3 can function the way I'd like I'm going to look into that. A smartwatch and bluetooth earphones would be less bulk and worry than a phone.

The LG G Watch because it has the best Asteroid OS support!

smart watches are easy tools to cheat in college :)

that g watch looks fucking disgusting, switch the wrist bands back nigger

No! The rubber strap it came with isn't as nice to use!

that looks like prototype hardware eww

I- I'm just using a protective case! ;-;

I hate that look though. A round face like looks much better

You're right, and eventually I'll probably purchase an LG Urbane for that exact reason (It can also run Asteroid OS).

I use this watch

Hello 360 bro! Is that a first or second gen?

>brb
>gotta hunt some niggers in the jungle

Yep. It's rare when childhood dreams come true, but it does happen.

Why are your screens broken at the bottom?

2nd

Do the 'rolex' faces actually sweep smoothly rather than tick?

I use an Apple Watch Series 1 that I got on sale. It's not a miracleworker like the smartphone was when it came out, but it's handy to have in lots of different cases. Biggest benefits, from my standpoint:

– Makes my phone more discreet without disabling notifications. Instead of my phone dinging, vibrating, and screen turning on I just get a tap on the wrist

– When people message me, lets me get a gist of the message and judge whether it's it's important and needs immediate attention or can wait in a single glance

– Makes it damned near impossible to miss important calls and notifications

– Gives quick access to info snippets in text/email like package locker codes without pulling out phone, nice when hands are full

– Checklist app is nice for grocery lists, letting you keep track of what you do/don't have while going through the grocery store without making you that guy fumbling with his smartphone (wrist glance vs. put down grocery basket, pull out phone)

Good smart watches basically just smooth out little bits of friction in daily life. Whether that's worth it or not is a very subjective thing that depends on who you are and what you do every day.

Some do, usually it's a configuration option as smooth takes more battery

The one's I'm using in the pics above do. Also the image resolution is way better than it looks in these pics

That's where the ambient light sensor is on the watch. Commonly known as the flat tire effect on the 360s

This guy gets it

Once the Apple Watch lets me make calls and send texts i'll get one.

Are you talking cell connectivity in the watch itself? Because it can do both in tandem with your phone, and iMessage works as long as your watch has wifi…

IIRC the two issues preventing cell antennas in watches are the increased bulk and power consumption.

Strava on the series 2 is pretty awesome. Don't need to take my phone when I go cycling or I can keep it secure in the pouch on long rides and not miss anything.

Yes, i want to leave my phone at home and use only an Apple Watch with some AirPods.
Other than that it's useless to me if i can't leave my house without my phone why would i bring the extra watch with me if i can do everything on my phone?

>Yes, i want to leave my phone at home and use only an Apple Watch with some AirPods.
I'm sure it's coming but that's a few years down the road at minimum. It'll take both advances in silicon as well as battery tech, because neither is there quite yet.

>Other than that it's useless to me if i can't leave my house without my phone why would i bring the extra watch with me if i can do everything on my phone?
As other posts noted above, it's mainly just to avoid pulling your phone out more than necessary. It can be a good tool for cutting down on distractions if nothing else, and it makes it so you don't have to have your phone glued to your side permanently to not miss important things.

Apple watches can also have music synced to them from your phone, making it something of a bluetooth-capable iPod Nano which is cool in a number of situations (working out, house chores, etc).

That seems like it wasn't worth the tradeoff at all. I assumed it was just some very hard to work-around manufacturing limitation, but it's for some bullshit sensor that they could've just put somewhere else. What an idiots.

Is that a colour e-ink screen or is it not e-ink at all?

Absolutely haram

no this is

...

Used to think the same thing myself. According to Motorola though that was the only place it would work. And with most black background faces it doesn't stand out too bad at all

rocking this sweet little baby rn

thats the gayest shit ever!!

Not a huge Breitling fan myself too

It's not exactly e-ink but it's not a traditional lcd either

It doesn't run Android OS. Samsung made their own smartwatch OS and it's not rootable. And noapps as well.

please post a link! i will buy this right now!
how i do that? its a Samsung exclusive?
i don't want to buy a Samsung product but... i fucking love this shit
