Sup Forums, I'm really stuck

Sup Forums, I'm really stuck.

I'm buying a new computer (from Alienware or Dell, I know, I know, but there is a reason behind this)

I've been out of the hardware game so long that I can't make a super informed decision by myself, and I'm having trouble choosing between two systems.

Specs are as follows

System A)

Intel I7 7700k
GTX 1080
16gb ram
2TB 7200rpm
Liquid cooling

System B)

Ryzen 7 1700X
AMD 580
32GB RAM (At 2400mhz)
2 TB 7200RPM + 256GB SSD boot drive
No liquid cooling

Any input would be greatly appreciated, would love to see a discussion of the merits of each.

Thanks Sup Forums!

System A) is $66 / month, $2,399.99 ($950 off on sale)

System B) is $57/month, $2,057.99

they're both fucking theft for those prices, are you a dumbass? otherwise, who's paying? because if you are, r e c o n s i d e r

>financing a computer

just fucking dont you dolt.

It's a gift.

Unless anyone has a better option than Dell / Alienware for financing, then that is unfortunately what I have to go with. I love to just build it myself, but that isn't an option. (Unless there is a company where you can part out your build under finance.)

To you or for someone else? If it is for someone else don't it's not worth if it go to pcbg and build it. If is someone else bad purchase to give to you A no hesitation. Enjoy getting all the bloatware off of it though.

Why the hell are you financing this? Especially if it's a gift.

From parents to me. Any better options than Dell?

Some boutique custom builders allow financing.

Because my mom would rather finance it.

I found this in ten secounds
cyberpowerpc.com/system/Battlebox-2017-Ultimate
It is a memed up computer but better then both dells and for less money

>$157 a month

Too expensive monthly.

Why not just get a significantly cheaper computer?

OP posted this shit on Sup Forums as well. Really smells of summer.

Thanks for looking though

That PC is a lot better than the 2 you listed and it's also cheaper

Because I won't get another one for a long while and I want it to be something that can last for at least awhile

The point is it isn't cheaper monthly , I'd love to just do that, but I'm instructed to do it cheaper monthly

What're you planning on doing with it?

A gift like that is no gift at all.
Are you seriously that poor? You're better off putting money into a savings account and not touching it for a year as the money accumulates. It takes willpower but it's about time you normalfags learned that.

Pretty much everything. Gaming (hopefully eventually at 4k), work (I work from home when I can as I am disabled.)

Savings accounts are a fucking meme. You hardly earn any money out of it despite freezing your money. Only way to make money out of money is investing, and obviously that comes with a risk.

>your parents are financing a gift
If your parents have to finance a computer you might as well not bother putting the financial burden on them at all.

Also graphics design, forgot to put that.

They would just rather finance it, it has NOTHING to do with my parents financial ability. Please people, understand this.

It's a much better idea to tell them to save for some time as opposed to financing. Do you need to computer that badly right now?

Yes, I need it so I can start working from home again.

Okay then, option B

Still don't understand wanting to be put into a contract for 2 years snd hoping it doesn't break, rather than paying it upfront and getting the computer for cheaper, bit that's beyond me.

>Please people, understand this.
I understand they want to be murdered by the interest rate that comes with monthly payments. Fuck that.
Go to pcpartpicker.com. Pick parts with the help of the pcbg faggots in their thread. Make your relatives bring it to the nearest microcenter and let them do the assembly.

but*
and

If you don't mind my asking, can you tell me a few reasons for option b?

Okay, if you need it for work, you can probably get them to pay for it.

You said you did graphic design, and nore ram is usually required for that

Also, Ryzens can be delidded if you want to apply thermal paste.

SSDs are great for boot drives as well.

Liquid cooling can be applied yourself with a youtube video.

Also, it's cheaper

more* god damnit I hate phoneposting away from home

Ryzen. That's an eight core desktop you're looking at with at minimum stock Haswell performance.
You can never have enough RAM when working, so 32GB is good. Too bad it's not 3000MHz.
It has an SSD, your programs and OS will load faster.

It is Intel chips that need to be delided.
Deliding a Ryzen chip = dead chip.

I'd try to talk some sense into you about both options being shit compared to building it, but apparently it won't do any good. System B is the better choice.

Dollars to donuts that rx 580 is a blower.

You're not funny.

Ryzen 7
GTX 1080
16gb ram
SSD boot drive
HDD (easy to add in the future if you go small now)
Air cooling is fine

Of course not, but jews are.
>delidding Ryzen
choose one

Is your mom also fucking disabled? You're saving money all together despite the mothly cost. Would she rather spend $30,000 at $50/month or $500 at $100/month. This is not a difficult problem.

If you reconsider building a pc this is just plan better then anything you would get at dell
pcpartpicker.com/list/smTHgL
and this build isn't optimised at all it's just a start if you take it to /pcbg/ they can make it for less I'm sure. Don't have your parents throw money at debt collecters for a shitty pc that won't last 3 years before a cap blows or a trace burns out on those cheap motherboards.

I would love to do this, but Dell is retarded and you can't match up the ryzen configed systems with a 1080, just a 1060 or a 580.

I guess another option would be getting a Best buy credit card and getting something through them, I see they have iBuyPower and cyberpcbuilder pc's on their website.

>savings account
only poorfags put money in savings accounts
OP put the money in an ETF

if anything, get amazon/newegg or better yet visa gift cards and use them to finance everything

pcpartpicker.com/list/MdRG4C
another shitty build, OP please don't waste your money on that shit, you can easily save $600

m.bestbuy.ca/defaultpage.aspx?lang=en#/catalog/productdetails.aspx?ajax=true&sku=10660360&lang=en-CA

What about this? (I'm op)

Also forgot to mention these prices are Canadian dollars.

Between a 580 and a 1070, which is better?

580 preforms similarly to a 1060

It wouldn't be hard on Newegg to find a pre-built with those specs (7700+1080) a lot cheaper. Probably like $1500

1070, but nvidia cards don't age well and a 580 will outperform a 1070 in couple years

Good news Sup Forums, I just found out that ncix.ca does financing. So I think I may be able to part build my PC after all.

There are high interest savings accounts out there if you do research.

I would buy System B, but if you want better than 1080p

Lul
/thread

System B
CPU is much better, liquid cooling is shit anyway, the RX580 is plenty for 1080p and 1440p gaymen, 32GB RAM is nice I guess, SSD is a must
But both are overpriced

1070 is about 35% stronger, but AMD cards age better (better support for DX12/Vulkan and better long term driver support) so the gap will become smaller over time
And the RX580 is much better value if you manage to find one at a good price

Nigga, just build one
pcpartpicker.com/list/xjP3D8

I like that pic

This.

>Paying more for less
This is why you are in this situation. Nobody is going to stop you from being an idiot either, only you can do it. This is the second time you make this thread at least, and I ignored you the first time. This time I am calling you a retard because you already got your attention.

Save money. Buy it yourself for less. Why is that such an insane concept for you? Fools and their money.

>I'm buying a new computer (from Alienware or Dell, I know, I know, but there is a reason behind this)
why the fuck does it have to be alienware or dell?
