Android Emulator

Why are all Android emulators for PC utter shit?

what's the point of em anyway

android x86, boot from flash drive

Use Android x86 like said. You can also run it in a VM just fine.

Android-x86 > Remix OS >>>>>>>> Remix Player

>having to fuck around with a VM or metal boot just to test my APK

That's fucking stupid.

Prepare for it to get even worse as Intel shitcanned its smartphone SoC business and stopped development of HAXM Android emulator acceleration modules.

>android x86
What's your experience with it?

Not that guy, but I boot Android 4.4 from Virtual box all the time and I never have issues. It's the same as booting any other stable Os or running Android on your phone.

Why 4.4?
What I'd like to know how would apps behave on bigger screens, does it scale up?

Does that mean they're getting out of the Android business?
Inshallah.

wait, but it can't run apps for arm, right? So what's the point of having os without any programs?

>Android
Why not use superior CM?

bump

Most Android apks don't ship native code.

works on amd running nougat just fine and can emulate arm architecture for apps that require it. I used it a daily on my old laptop. DO NOT GET REMIX OS, IT IS ANDROID X86 WITH BLOAT LAUNCHER!!

It's Dead, but i did see a android x86 lineage os fork out there

Why are all Android emulators for Linux even more shit? Android is just another flavor of Linux, how hard can it be?

>I used it a daily on my old laptop.
That's what I'm planning to do.
I have old laptop, that was running WinXP, and I want to give it to my parents, and since they're used to android, I thought I'd install it on it.
>emulate arm architecture for apps that require it
How and what apps?
>RemixOS
I thought it was dead?
Android is an OS built around the Linux kernel.
It's like saying the cake is the same as bread.

Android runs surprisingly well through Hyper-V
aka Visual Studio Emulator for Android

I dual boot W10 and Android-x86 on a Toughbook CF-C1. The only downside is that there's no sleep mode. You have to shutdown completely if you're on battery power. Also have to use an app to lock landscape so certain apps don't go portrait. All hardware works; touch screen, WiFi, BT, etc.

I got my parents an old hp mini with 2gb a ram, perfect for android

APKs are java, fool, they'll run on anything with a java runtime

Didn't you try that in court already, Larry?

You realize that android emulate every app it runs in VM?

>flash drive
You mean a USB, right?

works on my machine

Even if an APK ships native code, chances are it has an x86 build of it embedded

>having to fuck around with a VM
As opposed to fucking aroung with an emulator?

Nox

And it's cousin memu or something
