This. What kind of retard pays for music?

Nigga what?
Also, Apple music costs the same, has a solid classical interface instead of this dumb shit design spotify uses (open up the app and get bombarded by normie shit instead of just having the option to click artists/albums/genre/etc category right away like on Apple music) doesn't delete your entire fucking download library when you use a VPN and lets you use your own mp3s simultaneously with the apps encrypted downloads. I'm not even an Apple fag but after using it for a month I could never go back to spotify.
Spotify pays artists way less money btw and doesn't even pay their devs for actually improving their bugged shit service.
>Paying $10 a month to "rent" lossy music that can only be accessed when you have an internet connection and can be taken away at any time if spotify or the artist decides to do so.
You may as well just pirate, or even better, buy CDs and get lossless music you can keep forever.
Artists actually get a comparatively decent chunk of CD sales compared to spotify which pays them pennies.
There's literally no benefit to spotify over an SD card with music and a way to access youtube.
>claiming that that horrible POS itunes is better than the spotify app
are you high
0$/mo newpipe or >2017

Saving is superior to streaming in every way. Why are you afraid of using up 1GB of space for a few hundred songs?
this
artists really make the dosh from shows, collabs with other artists, and merch.
or just straight up sending actual money to them.
I torrent whole discographies, but I actually support a good chunk of artists if they don't make millions
I'm not NEET. In 30 min of easy work I make enough to pay for spotify for 1 month. I can get billions of songs at HQ without going to shady torrent sites and doing all types of VPN shit
geek squad
With an edu email, it's only $4/mo.
I don't consume other media much to justify paying for a VPN + seedbox just to have access to artists that don't show up on public shit.
However, I can see how VPN+seedbox eventually becomes much cheaper than netflix+prime+hbo+applemusic+youtubered+etc.
I wish. It's simply better if you just listen to full albums instead of playlists and want your library sorted by artist > album > song by default.
If I click on an artist I just want to see a list of the albums, preferably just the covers, instead of having a cliusterfuck of albums with every track on one huge list. And don't tell me abou thearist page because that fucking shit us dependent on a internet connection and my local mobile network is shit so I don't want to wait 20 seconds to just have my music sorted properly.

Also get ad-free YouTube
Why on Earth would you want the successor to Beats™ music
I just download the mp3 from YouTube. I use youtube-mp3.org and it works well enough. For those complaining about audio, if you're fine with 128/192kbps then its fine.
Spotify has other issues like tracking what you listen to and DRM.
Spotify free with EZblocker.
>$5.00 a month with edu email (free or a few bucks on eBay)

>More songs/exclusives
>Better UI

Also
>the only one that shuffles right
I share an family plan with a bunch of family members and friends for 15$ for 5 people, so only 3$. Used to pirate my shit but now i just do it this way and support the artists with a few cents. Downloading 10 albums while typing this without having to think about sorting, renaming and adding covers to shitty pirated music.
Decent and good people with standards that aren't subhuman
>actual good song recommendations
Yea right. I have used both and Apple Music's music discovery and recommendations are shit, even after disliking and liking tons of songs. Spotify is way better at serving up music you would like. Their "Discovery Weekly" and "Release Radar" are way better than Apple's "My New Music Mix" and "My Favorites Mix"
Spotify is probably one of the few decent services in that criteria, works well and has nice features, i pay virtually nothing since i share it with 2 more people.
You can download as many songs as you want and play them, even offline.
>Lossy
Care to elaborate?
>and a way to access youtube.
say goodbye to quality music, exclusives, good interface, and phone data
>>Lossy
>Care to elaborate?
Compression that reduces quality. I can see you're not a Sup Forums regular
>.t MAFIAA shill
I think it really depends on what music you listen to, spotify's suggestions were shit to me and Apple Music suggestions are pretty good, but I had this discussion with people before and it all comes down to your personal taste.
>said the cocksucking niggerdick eating faggot
Spotify is full on SJW-tier malware trash.
>This whole thread
What's it like to be poor, Rajeesh?
I know what it means, i mean how is it lossy? It sounds fine... I guess i'm not an autistic "audiophile".
Also, when you stream your literally downloading the same thing over and over again which is retarded
i buy CDs of artists that i want to support and like to listen to. spotify is good but i feel like it has kind of devalued music? like, there is so much stuff on spotify now and i doubt artists get as much money as they used to from making music. its all in now, and as useful as spotify is, i am kind of upset about the direction that spotify is taking music
What a perfect response to confirm that you're a double digit IQ subhuman.
I agree. As long as they let mopidy work, I'm happy to pay.
Pretty much because Spotify has no fucking music at all for me.
Fair point, i do miss having the physical media, used to buy all kinds of albuns prior to 2004, i just don't do it today anymore.
each one of your posts is a confirmation of a black dick sucked.
>you must have mistaken yourself for OP
I have a hacked Spotify "Premium" app on my Android phone, so you tell me you money wasting faggot?
>Android phone
LMAO HE ACTUALLY IS RAJEESH
are you retarded, the direction Spotify is taking music to is making publishers less powerful and pay the artists more
the next step would be a legal distributed application with blockchain technology to eliminate the last leech that is getting paid without being involved in making music (Spotify)
Who are you quoting?
>pirated everything all my life
>times changed
>got spotify free
>ads are annoying but still didn't care to pay for it
>eventually got a new phone plan
>includes free unlimited spotify premium
>it's fucking nice
>don't want anything else
>will continue to pay for it when the 6 months free premium's over
Don't be a nigger like I used to.
Why would I bother to waste 10 minutes to search everything I want, download it, transfer to phone when I can n a matter of 5 seconds listen to anything I want.
Are you going to download every single music to your phone? Do you know what you will listen to, that day?
Myself?
>pleb calling others plebs
if it's cheaper it's a keeper
former pirate that switched to spotify premium for music.
i think i pay like $5 a month using the student discount; the convenience of not having to transfer over the files is worth it. that and the music discovery feature is pretty great.
i'd only do it if you have a good carrier since 70% of the time i'm listening in the car.
I remember being new like it was yesterday. Good old times. Best of luck to you kiddo.
Why don't you just download all your music instead of streaming it? You know that you can do that on spotify, right?
what was that? you starting browsing here yesterday? you get bored at reddit? sure sucks to suck kid.
that's a lot of work user.
>[converted with youtubetomp3]
every time
why would you even pay for spotify
hacked apk + hosts file blocks all ads for desktop and mobile
>Downloading MP3s from YouTube

Youtube Red.
>No anime song
Into the trash it goes.
Soundcloud Premium
I have YouTube Red and Google Play Music for $8 a month. Spotify is a meme with shit tier quality. Plus I can use songspout to pull the songs straight from google's servers. Spotify is shit.
>listening to music
Are you deaf?
Streaming services are still brutal. More skips than a record and has lossy artifacts especially in the high frequency range
From a buyfag perspective it's a pretty fucking good deal. Instead of buying individual records you pay 10 bucks for the rest of your life and get virually unlimited access to music both new and old, never having to buy a record again. It's also a breeze to create playlists since you have all the records available.
In reality once you start branching out into less known genres the library starts seriously lacking and really just fucking pirate music it's so easy nowadays with tools like Soulseek you have no reason not to.
That's false. The amount musicians get is almost the lowest in the industry aside from Pandora and youtube
Not valid anymore. With all the previous GOOD torrent sites taken down and no decently run alternatives. Torrenting is dead. The golden age ended with a bang.
Who the fuck torrents music in current year?
I JUST said torrenting is dead. Actually yeah just music.
Spotify 7.8

What a fucking shitty site

Why is he running Windows on his Mac?
Bandcamp
Nice idea for a thread op, keep all the shills in one thread then gas em
I miss the REAL Jordan.
Is spotify (the company) making any money yet?
They've been close to going bankrupt for several years haven't they?
I really hope they don't as I like their app and service. I'd love to get Google Play with YouTube red but I found google plays interface and app not as good as Spotify. Also I'm ok a family plan with friends with Spotify so i can't leave
Netflix.
Stop using Linux
Because he knows his shit
He is obviously the chad.
>app
Go fuck yourself
This, but then you realize that data is not the bottleneck. the bottleneck is the right to own a song/album and not get sued, so now you realize that you're just bitching over a non issue because in fact Spotify is a genius solution compared to what ypu suggested
>paying for spotify
For what purpose
>be music maker
>have many fans
>none of them buy any albums or singles
>stop creating music
I'd rather just use Bandcamp.
Spotify is useless for me, because it has literally no Touhou music.
>paying for not owning stuff
>paying for merely "alright" quality
The only fine streaming services are the free ones, and only if you can't afford to buy your favorite music directly from the artist(fuck labels).
Just use NewPipe
>creating music solely for profit
Good riddance. This kind of people has hurt every field of art.
Not me, I have a transparent caching proxy set up on my network to cache HTTP overhead, and I set Spotify cache to much larger than usual, so almost all my music is actually cached to my local drive. Finally, while I dont pay for Spotify, I did buy Audials 2017, which allows me to rip Spotify music and it automatically detects and discards duplicates and ads. Most of music is now playable offline.
You're paying for the hosting and software development which provides public APIs for stuff like Mopidy and of course pretty nice apps on phones (that don't even depend on GApps!). The convenience of not having to store, rip, download files and sort through them by yourself is so great. I hate it when my local collection can never provide just _any_ track that comes to mind but only some specific favorites. Also, anything above MP3 V2 is audiofoolery snake oil. I too like FLAC for archival, but for listening there is NO audible difference except your placebo.
All that trouble and everything is still in shit quality.
