The keyboard is shit though. If a screen, keyboard, or (to an extent) trackpad are shit, the laptop is automatically not worth buying because those are the three parts of a laptop you actually interface with.

Everybody that an XPS 13 inevitably has tons of problems and suffers at the hands of Dell's shit support. It's shit tier. X1 Carbon is a good choice.
The thing with the x1 carbon is even with the EPP discount you pretty much end up paying the same or saving around $100 compared to the 13' mbp, the only thing is that you can upgrade the ssd.
I am in college and I have seen super hot girls use ThinkPads. Also almost everyone of my professors is using it, I have yet to see a professor using a Mac. I am not in CS by the way.
