Shit, I fucked up. Actual previous thread:

I need some help

Someone on here told me that my Model F77 doesn't have a function key row but I just help down function key and pressed number 5 and it activated F5. I specifically bought this keyboard because I was told it didn't have a function row but actually it DOES.

Fuck you Sup Forums why would you do this to me.

Does anyone have any idea whether Realforce 55g TKL keyboards will ever be available anywhere but eBay ever again? EliteKeyboards sits has said that stock was supposed to be arriving in "April/May 2017" for months and they still haven't gotten SHIET.

Ah, I think I see the problem here. You see, you actually pressed a number key - except that by also pressing a modifier, you changed layers, making F5 come out.

So your keyboard does not, in fact, have a function row, and there's no need to worry.

If I make a single switch keyboard that can send any keycode a fullsize keyboard can by counting how many seconds it's held down for, is that a fullsize keyboard?

If it didn't have a function key row it wouldn't have actuated F5. You screwed me user.

Apparently it will have all the keys (not just the one), but still won't be fullsize. It's obvious dude.

You are a dumb piece of shit that is incapable of reading. I stated you'd need a 60% minimum with two layers to get the functionality of a 100% but continue samefagging like the autistic cunt you are.

Reported for being underage.

That's where you're wrong. Almost no keyboard has, e.g., a * key - instead, to make a * come out, you press a modifier and then the 8 key.
Same situation here - you only have a number row, and no function rows, but you can change what keys your number row sends. In fact, since it's a fully programmable keyboard, you could make the number row send any scancode you want! It's a very useful number row, you see?

So what you're saying is, I do indeed have a function key row! Awesome.

hot damn what keyboard is that

It's the glorious IBM Model F 77 key keyboard. It has a rwo in one number row which also couples as a function key row thanks to keyboard layers!

It's quite remarkable.

Uh could you please explain why, exactly, a 60% with two layers? So for instance a Plank can't have the functionality of a fullsize? I don't follow.

Also, a VERY KEY word you said is that a 60% with two layers can have the FUNCTIONALITY of a fullsize. It won't BE a fullsize. Similarly, by mapping function keys to a non-primary layer you can have the FUNCTIONALITY of an F-row. You won't actually HAVE an F-row, and the keys which have F functionality on the secondary layers WON'T actually BE F-keys.

Farewell /mkg/ I am off to go play with the function row on my Model F77!

Good night :)

One board uses recycled trash and the other is a fairly decent keyboard that's been widely used for a while now. I wouldn't recommend either and instead wait a couple days for the CM MasterKeys PBT instead.

Guys you shouldn't have let me make the OP

Tips to get a Terminal Model F on ebay?
What are the part bumbers, nicknames, etc?

Im sure theres a market for replicas because that thing looks so good when new

104 key full size
1 key with 2 functions
you'd need at least 60% minimum to cover all missing keys

Hope you understand dumbass :)

Good night!

Why not 1 key 3 functions?

This argument makes me want to hit myself on the head with my keyboard until I'm too concussed to read the thread.

>you have [...] no function rows (sic)
>Oh so you're saying I have a function row!
I don't think your reading ability is quite so good, maybe you could try learning some more before coming back to try talking with the grownups again? :)

I thought these threads were dying, what happened?

Shitposting.

Please tell me, does the keyboard in the OP have a function row or not? It's fully programmable, if you care

Why does it have an ARM processor inside?
Does it contain nonfree firmware?
Is it botnet?
Is it safe?

>so autistic, makes a new thread just to sperg more because one thread filled with his faggotry wasn't enough
>like a retard, completely fucks up the OP by copy/pasting the last OP so he can focus on his autism instead
>completely trips up on himself and doesn't even get his shitposts right

Holy shit, I have never cared less about Model Fs in my life, but now I think you have completely ruined them for me. I'm not that other fag you were shitposting with, but I was actually thinking of getting something with buckling springs in the future, but if I have to deal with retards like you, fucking forget it. Fuck off from /mkg/ and please stay on your r/mk instead holy fuck.

where the fuck does that calculator output its results?

>I made the thread
I asked for someone to do it because the old one was one page 9. Got called a faggot. Nobody made one for another while so I ended up doing it myself, and decided to shitpost while at it.

Just want to be clear that I didn't rush to create my own OP as soon as it was acceptable or anything.

>butchering arguments and tripping up on myself
All the posts you quoted except the OP (and the first reply ott, obviously) are actually from the other autist, kek.

If you can't create the OP correctly, then don't make it at all. Fucking up the OP is much worse than being called a faggot, faggot.

Mechanical graphing calculator when?

Its for the programmable macros, rebind-able media keys, and 5 function layers
It just opens up the default calculator program. Since the keyboard is programmable I rebound those four keys into media keys. The volume controls are on my mouse

Soon™

Would it work properly on GNU/Linux?

I'm just tired of having to search through the catalog every time. This thread in particular is really bad at linking new threads in old ones.

So if nobody can create a competent op before the old thread falls off page 10, then I'll make my half-assed one and link it properly, and maybe that will motivate people who can actually make good OPs to get moving before I do.

Is there something similar but cheaper, since I don't actually require that bullshit?

It should, as long as it can interpret the scancodes, since the onboard processor handles the actual mappings

Yes, but NKRO won't work
Do you just want a full size keyboard? If so there are hundreds of options that are much cheaper. Just go onto aliexpress. You can pick up the keyboard in the pic for 60 bucks tomorrow during prime day.

PBT keycaps, full size or TKL, similar colorscheme, decent build quality (non flexing).
No LED's and other unnecessary bullshit.

Also, the clicky blue switches seem nice.

Ducky One keyboards have a steel plate to prevent flexing since the case is made of plastic, and the keycaps are nice and thicc dye-sub PBT. How cheap do you want to go? Cause you can get something like a used model M for 40-50 bucks which will blow almost any modern keyboard out of the water with its build quality.

I'm okay with going for the Ducky One, I was just asking if I can get something as decent without the ARM processor at a lower price.
Since I don't need all those "features", it would be a waste to pay for them if I don't have to.

>used model M for 40-50 bucks
I'll consider it, but I'd rather have an unused keyboard.
Model F would be nice if it wasn't so expensive.

>Model M for 40-50 bucks
Where? Every time I check to see if there are any reasonably priced model m keyboards, the ones that are 40-50 bucks are beat to shit and/or not working.

online recycle stores are a good place to look. The one in my area has a couple in the 50-$60. The M2s are even cheaper, tho I wouldn't buy one
elecshopper.com/input-devices.html?cat=29&dir=asc&limit=all&manufacturer=47&order=price

recommend some /aesthetic/ keycaps for my DS3 TKL that show the LEDs but not super obviously, they are too bright with the stock keys even on lowest setting but I still want to see them just not have them be as obvious

What are my options for wireless mechanical keyboards? I'm looking to get a setup for occasional use with my Steam Link. My ideal is a TKL with a standard layout, not a compact one, with something tactile/clicky, LEDs that I can toggle from the board itself without software, and slightly inset keys(versus those cases that basically have no sides), but I'd settle for basically anything wireless.

>tfw all those stores in Santiago of Chile were cannibalized by people seeking to sell overpriced chinese shit for cellphones.

Get a Varmilo VB87M, it has everything you're looking for, except it has a floating key design. There are other TKLs that have bluetooth mods, but I can't think of them at the moment.

no LEDs but LEDs are a battery drain on wireless keyboards anyway

mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=2024

>bought two white keyboards last year
>give up going with all white stuff
>black monitors, case, mousepad ,mouse
Buy a black keyboard or forever have a shitty looking mouse/kb combo?
Black magicforces and drevo excalburs don't exist at their original prices. It fucking sucks. These chinks know they're too good of a value and are charging like $80 for them.

>worrying about color coordination
>tries for an all black set up
>everything on wooden table anyway

Just giving a fuck and get a keyboard with a blue case and dark blue keycaps with yellow accents. If that thing has an aluminum plate (which I think it does) then just keep it and buy PBT keycaps.

What's the best keyboard for around $40?

magicforce 68, but if you aren't going to spend more than around $40 overall, maybe a $28 tkl and $20 keycaps

>Budget
100$ or less

>location
Oregon

>switch
Any browns

>layout
ANSI

>form factor
Ten key less

>backlight
White led if anything

Thanks in advance :)

And also floating keys are nice

Are the Unicomp keyboards worth it or should I just buy an old buckling spring keyboard off of Ebay instead.

This site is so addicting. I just burned 20 minutes of nonstop typing without even noticing that I had spent so much time. I don't know if it is actually making me a better typist but it sure is great at killing time and enjoying your keyboards.

Those are PBT keycaps. They feel really nice but I definitely prefer by Noppoo choc mini to it because of the POM caps and the objectively perfect layout and the orgasmic blue switches.
Until I use that magicforce because then I fall in love with it.
Until I go back to the noppoo.
I swap back and fourth all the time they're both always on my desk but I just want my SHIT TO FUCKING MATCH.
p.s. Choc Minis are cheap as fuck on newegg right now.

May I introduce to the tip-top meme: The Tada68.

aliexpress.com/item/no-its-good-really/32807055607.html?

Model M2 aren't that bad as they make it sound. If you can solder, you simply can replace the two capacitors that gave it the bad fame.
BTW, does those guys offer international shipping?

I know everyone in this thread will hate me.

I want a RGB w/ software control mechanical keyboard. Preferred brown or red switches.
From $100-$140 range.

It's been a tossup between the k70 and Strafe for me, whichever has a good sale first really.

Would these be compatible with gateron switches?

Get the k65, mate. I can attest to how good it is, if that's the type of keyboard you want.

>$80 for a numpad

>inb4 its fully programmable so its basically a full size keyboard

>recommending Corsair shit, especially now

gross

You could just get a Ducky Shine, but if you really want software control, you'd have to get a Ducky Shine 6.

Nope. Those are only compatible with razer switches, so you're gonna have to buy something else

the k65 is $170 on amazon, where the k70 is $140 and I really like having a numpad.

I asked few threads back but go no response: where do I buy NovaTouch TKL? I want topre+cherrymx stems.

Where can I find it?

It could be a keyer?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Good luck fag

Im looking for a keyboard around $40 with brown switches, whats the best keyboard to get?

>he doesn't have numpad that also works as a mini-planck

amazon.in/Tvse-Gold-Usb-Bharat-Keyboard/dp/B00U126ZGA

Supposedly, no one bought them, and then they all died.

MagicForce 68 with Gateron Browns.

Thanks for the reply, I got my answer from google though.

That's 65% not ten key less :/

Steno would make sense on it, but full qwerty throught layers? Is dumb as fuck.

Is it better than this one? amazon.com/Velocifire-Mechanical-Keyboard-Illuminated-Anti-ghosting/dp/B071W16NVZ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499653148&sr=8-1&keywords=Tkl78

gearbest.com/keyboards/pp_624879.html

Drevo Gamr.

That's cute user. Wait till you see this!

>$80
Where the fuck are you looking, it's $60 normally.

>OUTEMU BROWN SWITCHES: Offer the best tactile typing experience. As well being ever so slightly quieter, fitting for office use.

Oh yea, night and day difference. People's favorite brown switch is Gateron.

>not a ibm model m13
disgusting

aliexpress.com/item/Plum87-gateron-mx-brown-blue-mechanical-keyboard-RGB-backlit-TKL-gaming-keyboard-PBT-keycap-87-tenkeyless/32598358025.html

see

I think it only has one layer. It's marketed as a fully programmable 24 Planck that can be used as a "gamepad" like those Razer palm things.

>M13
not the superior M15
what kind of plebs do you think we are?

>Budget
up to ~$150

>Form factor

pls no

anybody know if this one is good?

amazon.com/dp/B01GX4O412/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2DTHOTMN9DADS&colid=2RL4B0MIJK2F6

quit spamming. it's against the rules.

for that price, fuck no

gateron brown is considered superior to cherry brown but not many people have had first-hand experience with both outemu and gateron to be able to compare them.
