>more like Firefucks integrating a part of the Google botnet

From the link:
>Another Mozilla employee, who goes by the handle potch, added on Hacker News that Mozilla negotiated a special deal with Google that only a "subset of data" is collected, and that the "data is only used for statistical purposes".

>The maker of uBlock Origin posted an interesting observation in the thread as well. The legacy version of uBlock Origin can block the requests on internal Firefox pages, while the WebExtension version cannot.

Damage control

*yawn* this is just a big nothing burger

Firefox data mining your info and selling it to Google with no way to turn it off is nothing?

It's nothing because non of the shills here have proven that.

>firefox
l m a o

>>The maker of uBlock Origin posted an interesting observation in the thread as well. The legacy version of uBlock Origin can block the requests on internal Firefox pages, while the WebExtension version cannot.

And that's the real reason why they made the switch.
Time to move to Iridium or Brave.

>People not using noscript

Wouldn't change shit.

Palemoon doesn't have this problem.

>Get Add-ons page
>He doesn't backup his .xpi extensions

>firecucks right now

Install Brave

That's what I use.

is uBlock origin not picking it up or isn´t it active for me?

>iridum or brave
>both chromium browsers
Does umatrix work on chromium?

i had to stop using ff and went back to chrome. firefox was using like 4 gb of memory for some reason.

Is ESR 52 affected by this?

try the "Get Add-ons" tab.

Legacy uBlock Origin can block it.

how did you get the smaller tabs? classic theme restorer?

I meant does ESR 52 have this data mining, did they apply this to the ESR as well.

ALL of the anti-Firefox shills can go fuck themselves in this thread, every last one of you. Easy way to disable:

"Firefox users who don't use Get Add-ons can disable the functionality in the following way:

1. Load about:config?filter=extensions.webservice.discoverURL
2. Double-click on the preference, and remove all characters so that the value is blank.
3. Restart Firefox."

It's that simple...

I bet NONE of these "concerned" privacy advocates (aka shills) even have a librebooted thinkpad and are freaking out over a STUPID little script that does very little to affect their privacy and can be disabled with two clicks, while at the same time their proprietary BIOS and the Intel ME/AMD PSP are LITERALLY raping their system from top to bottom and selling their data and privacy to the highest bidder along with every single five eyes ALPHABET agency out there. Fuck all of you shills, go to hell.

yeah

the problem is that mozilla does not think there is a problem

OK, it´s there.

Because it's not a problem, and if your autism level is so high that you thunk it is a problem then simply disable it the way angry can user described

it's almost like the power users are trying to fix firefox but mozilla wants it to sink.... huh

REEEEEEEEEEEE, there's nothing to fix. It's a script that uses anonymized data for a page showing add-ons that most power users don't even use. Disable it if you think it's malicious in some way. The burden of proof is on these shills to show that something bad is happening here, and as of now, NO PROOF has been presented that that is the case.
Then disable it as described here

>why do you care I tried to spy on you by hiding a camera in your bathroom?
>as long as you figure out I'm watching you and you can find the hidden camera, you can just remove it!

You're the only one being a shill. You posted this in the other thread, too. How much does Mozilla pay you?

FIREKEKS BTFO

>Chrome is a botnet
>Firefox is also a botnet now
What the fuck am I supposed to use? Fuck this, I'm going back to IE.

the sjw know there is nothing else they can do, or know how to do, now either than damage control.
dont worry, at the rate its going for the past year, mozillas main """product""" will end soon, and there will be no need for any of that anymore

There's literally nothing to use anymore. You just have to de-botnet yourself as much as possible. Firefox is the lesser of the evils, I suppose.

Go fuck yourself, both of you. I'm not paid a dime by anyone. I'm simply pointing out that this is a nonissue because A) the script can be disabled in about 3 seconds, even for an autistic retard like you, and B) no evidence has been presented that the script has violated anyone's privacy. Most power users don't use that page because it's so fucking stupid. It's only something normies click on.

Welp. Time to switch to Chrome.

HOLY SHIT!!! JUST DISABLE THE STUPID ADDON PAGE

The fact that you can avoid it doesn't make it okay though. If Firefox is advertised as a privacy-focused browser, Google Analytics should simply not interfere with it at all, never.
mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/private-browsing/

Just upgrade to a better browser

I guess now it's the moment.

>automatic micropayments

what is this fuckery?

netrunner

An optional feature you can ignore.

Unlike furryshit that comes out of the box with google analytics.

has mozilla commented on this

I don't understand the logic, Firefox is "only" having Google analytics for "statistical purposes", Chrome is full botnet.
By saying:
>Time to switch to Chrome
You're full retarded.

github.com/mozilla/addons-frontend/issues/2785

>An optional feature you can ignore.
>Unlike furryshit that comes out of the box with google analytics.
lmfao, being this retarded. The google analytics is also an optional feature that you can ignore by avoiding the addon page or just disabling it

>hey just break this obscure config value and hope they don't patch it, where's the problem

Googly analytics is turned on by default you stupid faggot and the Addons page is something most users visit.

>but you can disable it

Privacy should be opt-out not opt-in. The fact that we are having this discussion in 2017 tells me you are either a retard or a Firefox shill.

iridium is nice

firefox has gone downhill far before this, not only for privacy but also for usability. take your shit arguments to the windows 10 and mac shill threads

Fuck off, you're the retard shill hating on the last mainstream browser that actually places privacy and user freedom above all else. The addon page is not needed to install addons and most power users avoid it anyways. Simply disable the page in about:config if your autism level is that high. NO EVIDENCE has been presented that the GA script violates anyones privacy. FF has already released a statement saying that the data is anonymized and not linked to individual users.

It's on one anonymous page that can be disabled.

How can we know what info is beingcsend to Google? Can we audit it?

If you don't think it's anonymous, then just disable it, ffs.

Can't you just answer my question?

>ff using over 4 gb
>chrome using barely over 1 gb

y tho?

shills dont get payed to answer your questions, they get payed to post the script/copy they were assigned with

I told you FF's statement. If you don't think that's good enough answer then DISABLE it.
Says the shill...

>just disable the windows telemetry, don't you trust windows that they collect what they actually say they do?
This is not sufficient for a browser that claims to be the hallmark of privacy.

So, there is no way to know what info about me is Firefox sending to Google?

You know every website including Sup Forums is running GA anyway

I want to know if this is on icecat

>You know every website including Sup Forums is running GA anyway

What's your fucking point?

I can right click on any of those website and see that NoScript is blocking GA

I can't right click on the FF Add-ons page and do the same

Fuck Firefox, this was the las staraw, they are dead to me now.

>not using Ghostly add on

hehe feels good m8

>WE NEED GOOGLE ANALYTICS CUZ WE CAN'T USE ONE OF THE OTHER 10000000000000000000000 ANALYTIC PROGRAMS NOR CAN WE MAKE OUR OWN CUZ WE'RE TOO BUSY CHANGING MASTER & SLAVE VARIABLES IN OUR CODE TO CODE ANYTHING ELSE

Don't really care about it. But I've been genuinely considering switching to a different browser.

Firefox frequently stutters or freezes youtube/twitch videos when I'm watching them with my resolution set to 4k, even if the video resolution is set to 1080.
Every other time I try to drag and drop highlighted text into a search box it either doesn't let me drag at all or drags some invisible copy of a captcha I solved hours ago.
And every now and then if I'm checking email through it, it doesn't let me click in the scroll wheel to open links in a new tab.

And its just firefox, and It does it with addons, without addons, on a fresh install, on a new profile, etc...

Its really starting to not be worth the effort, especially since the only addon I use is an ad blocker and its not like other browsers don't have that option.

>no way of turning it off
>block google analytics

yea

use iridium it's much better, has native apt repos too

Big difference between a browser and OS. Have you taken an IQ test recently?
It's anonymous data about addons, disable it if you have concern.
THIS
You can disable it in about:config with two clicks. Fuck off, I bet you don't even use FF, you're just here shilling spreading DISINFO

But how can I know what info is?

whoa man you need to calm down

>Firefox frequently stutters or freezes youtube/twitch videos when I'm watching them with my resolution set to 4k, even if the video resolution is set to 1080.
>Every other time I try to drag and drop highlighted text into a search box it either doesn't let me drag at all or drags some invisible copy of a captcha I solved hours ago.
>And every now and then if I'm checking email through it, it doesn't let me click in the scroll wheel to open links in a new tab.
This is pure disinfo. On my 11 year old X60s I can run FF with NO glitches or freezes, and play youtube on external monitor at 1920x1080

yep
in fact iridium is so anti jew the southwest purchase more points page doesn't even work on it because they block the proprietary javascript or whatever the fuck they're trying to use there. I had to use chromium to get my plane ticket

>SJW Firefox workers use Google shit so that they can do less work, which gives them more time to celebrate gay pride month

Who cares, just disable it. FF already said it's anonymous.

>This is pure disinfo.

>This is literally what happened to me.
>This is what happened TO ME.
>I never said it happens to everyone.

>OMG DISINFO.

Are you brain damaged or just playing retarded?

Says the brain damaged person who can't even run a browser properly.

>On my 11 year old X60s I can run FF with NO glitches or freezes, and play youtube on external monitor at 1920x1080
This is pure disinfo. I have a brand new X60 and it can't run FF at all.

I care, and many more, is my privacy after all and is my personal info being send to Google by Firefox, so, Im very interested to know what are they sending.

Oh you're that shill. A thousand apologies sire, continue earning your pennies.

theyre sending your porn downloads and Sup Forums posts. who cares idiot. everyones emails, texts, and internet is being sent to the NSA already anyway.

What's there to examine if you can shut it off with two simple clicks? If you're so concerned, follow up with FF about the data being sent. They've already addressed this.
Maybe turn it on?

Should have installed trannyboot first

I get it know, Firefox is just another botnet, got it.

>Says the shill...
>Who cares
>Says the brain damaged person
typical shill ad hominem, cant justify anything or provide [citation needed] so better burry this under a load of shit talk and hope it gets to page 10 without getting ranked too high into the google search results...

Absolutely no proof. Go fuck yourself.

Ad hominem? Pssssh, you haven't even provided a shred of evidence that something violating users privacy is occurring. Burden of proof is on you big boy :^)

>typical shill ad hominem,
But, I said it to a retard who claimed that a problem I had didn't exist just because he didn't experience it. Are you just randomly click-
>better burry this under a load of shit talk and hope it gets to page 10 without getting ranked too high into the google search results...
Oh you're good, you're really good.

Spotted the shills

Firefox can make more as a data mine for Google than it ever could as a browser.

wait a fucking second, lol- in 2017 knowing what we've known about Mozilla- are you guys still using Firefox? Uh... why are you still using Firefox? Why does a small slip up like this even surprise you?

They admited they are sending my info to Google, an info I cant audit by my self, and they werent telling anyone they were doing ut, that is totally a botnet.

...

yep, just tested it and palemoon is fine

How do you get the Legacy versions?

They didn't send your info to Google dumb dumb. They sent anonymized data about addon usage. Burden of proof is on you to prove that something nefarious is going on. Otherwise you're just spreading disinfo. I think you need to check your IQ and see what a botnet is, protip: it's not FF because some silly ga script runs on the addon page which can be disabled in 2 clicks.

Do you have a smartphone? Your data gets sent to google/apple
Do you browse internet without VPN/Tor? Your data gets sent to google
Do you have a proprietary BIOS? Your data gets sent to intel/amd
Do you have a proprietary OS? Your data gets sent to microsoft/apple

While you were installing Ublock Origin, I studied the botnet

While you were setting up uMatrix, I studied the botnet

While you were clearing tracking cookies, I studied the botnet

While you were fapping to Chinese cartoons, I studied the botnet

I am Google Analytics IQ certified. Nothing can escape my reach, not even you, Sup Forums

just type in about:config
search for "http" and empty all entires.
Your firefox shuts the fuck up from now. You can not update but eh, just download it again if you want in the future.
