Cinematography reached its peak in 1962 with Cinerama.

>Cinerama involves three cameras aimed at different angles to capture 146 degrees of horizontal planes and 55 degrees of vertical planes--meant to simulate human vision. The idea was to project the film using three synchronized projectors onto a curved screen to create a wraparound effect.

Nolan shooting in 70mm IMAX is groundbreaking, even though they were shooting 105mm back in 1962.

Also digital cameras were a mistake.

fuckoff nolan

who says Nolan shooting in 70mm is groundbreaking? it's been going on since the 50s.

also some films suit a digital aesthetic

Didn't realize the curved screen meme has been around so long. When will it finally die?

Probably when you modify the laws of physics.

Is long as our eyes have a focal point this meme will be relevant.

But it's glorious.

It would be interesting to watch this movie in VR actually.

It's up on torrent sites if you want to try.

I wonder who is to blame for the stagnation, I doubt film makers want to be restricted so it must be the theaters.

Thanks, I'll look into it.

Is it a decent movie btw?

I dunno, I might just be a luddite, but I can't get used to the idea of a curved screen. Just looking at that picture feels wrong to me.

>theaters
Probably. They were very eager to throw out their film projectors when Hollywood started distributing in DCP format. I know some people that basically grabbed some 35mm projectors from a local theater's dumpster.

>Is it a decent movie btw?
Not great, watchable if you can appreciate older movies.

>I know some people that basically grabbed some 35mm projectors from a local theater's dumpster.
Jeez

Still some 70mm projectors left though.

Better than 3D cause at least you don't get headaches

You are like a little baby

Hollywood has even gone as low to allow GoPro camera footage into big budget productions.

Cinematography was killed to save money.

t. jews.

From my perspective it is you who is like a little baby!!

I'm the big baby.
