ded thread

Reposting from thread that was already on autosage.

Considering selling Early 2014 i5 macbook air, what business laptop can I get for $400 or less that won't be a downgrade. Battery life is very important, mba lasts nearly 9 hours.

You should keep it desu, I don't think there's a significant upgrade for $400

I guess I can hang on to it then. Is it easy to run GNU/Linux on a mac?

Should be very easy

but why

>tfw your ips display has terrible burn in

You lied to me, got a x230 btw.

yes, shpuld have no problems.

>tfw you fall in love with tripcode even though you're straight

wot

why are there 2 /tpg/ threads currently

i want to get a x220 or x220.

I currently have a x200s. The size is right and the battery is about 7-8hrs with the 9cell i bought for it.

Currently only use laptops for web browsing and light vm's (windows labs for class)

are the i5's much better on battery than the core2's?

because both OP's made the same thread with a 10 second difference and were both too stubborn to delete our own threads
t. OP of the other /tpg/

Yes they're more power efficient. I don't know how you were using a lowly clocked c2d for windows vms comfortably. I would just go X230 seeing as how sandy bridge is 2011 era shit.

Ryzen APU Thinkpads when?

I want to get a thinkpad for /libre/booting t400-500

where can I get one really cheap?

How is the current Thinkpad e570?
I'm going to get it with the 940mx since I don't game that much and the 950 + i7 is an exta 350.

I've had the e550 and it's served me fairly well. Albeit a bit slow since i3 and igpu.

Is there any reason not to get the newer model?

Any spot in Canada for a X220 ???

Otherwise any other cheap thinkpad that would be good to test and try various things to develop a linux distro ? (touchscreen and small size would be fun but not essential)

dell thread

Never. Maybe in an Edge pseudopad.

Everyone should get a libreboot compatible thinkpad. You will need one in the future.

literally anywhere that sells computers

Is T420 libreboot compatible?
