Not really, just price to performance ration is not that great.

Thanks

>i7 and gaymen motherboard for workstation

You could have bought a 16 core threadripper for almost the same price if you had waited 2 or 3 weeks.

Never had a problem with Asus Delux mobos.

I don't want to go with Xeon or ECC RAM. It's for content creation, don't need that much precision, just cores.

Mobo is already here, CPU is back ordered (they said a week or two).

Also I use Adobe applications and I don't think they're tweaked to work with AMD well, yet.

Also might Hackintosh later, and AMD is not really Hackintoshable.

Forgot to mention, 7820x is 8c/16t for $599 (fairly decent price imo compared to Jewtels last offerings of $1700 kek).

The AMD 16c/32t is $999, need those $400 dollaroos for GPU :^)

>all this while EPYC is happening
whatever dumb people will remain dumb

Why?

Epyc is in the thousands, no?

7820x 8c/16t is $599.

Also I'm not sure how much TR and EPYC mobos cost, they're probably a bit higher than x299 (which is ridiculously overpriced already)

...

Dude I'm not a gaymen, I don't even have 1 gayme installed on current machine.

It's for productivity.....I work in post production.

>Also might Hackintosh later, and AMD is not really Hackintoshable.

Why would you use Firefox to download Internet Explorer?

It's for specific software that only works under macOS and not Winshaft.

Calm your tits, I know what I'm doing.

I was just asking about price/performance/value more than anything else :^)

>not dumping all the work on a server farm somewhere
nice "studio" you got there

If you don't ABSOLUTELY need that software (say for job reasons), then run away from the hackintosh scene, as it is the most pointless thing possible.
I'm sure there are FOSS alternatives for most software you might wanna use, or even Windows ones.

Those are server CPUs with high core counts and low GHz, dummy.

I edit 8K Red footage. Try dumping that on a server farm lmfao.

Problem is I do need the software, but I will boot into macOS like once a week or so to use it. I cannot find an alternative in Winshaft. (I come from Macs overall, but I use what makes sense to me, I'm platform agnostic).

you can get 7900x overclocked performance from the 12c/24t $799 TR tho

The 7820X is the best Skylake-X chip, ignore the AMD fanboys.

>buying Intlel CPUs for workstations in 2017
>being this dumb

From a pure price to performance standpoint, you dun goof'd.

Adobe applications greatly utilises L3$ and since Intel decided to gimp out L3$ in their latest processors (7820X 11MB vs 6900K 20M) your not going to have a great experience.
Also, that threadripper is just around the corner. So, yes you did fuck up.

>I edit 8K Red footage
Don't forget to buy the $300 RAID dongle to unlock RAID features for your scratch disk goy!!!!

Stay cucked

>workstation level work
>not threadripper

>I do need the software
What software is on Macs you can't get on Winderp?

>not threadripper with ecc ram

Retard.

>Gamer workstations

What will they come up with next?

>AMD is not really Hackkintoshable
Lies made by Tonymacx86 and the 40 thievers.

Should of bought a z170 board and a i7-7700k and a delid tool with metal thermal paste and some rtv.

It is a bad investment, but there is nothing wrong with wasting your own money on garbage. I only have a problem if you ask me to pay for this.

Yeah that sounds like a great solution for a workstation, dumbass.

I seriously hope you're not planning on using RAID because you need to buya $300 physical key to unlock it on X299.

>Should of

>that tiny little VRM heatsink

Enjoy your literal housefire.
