Yes. Also depends on how they were calibrated. If they were calibrated to not detect pet motion then they are incredibly easy to walk past and not set off if you're careful.

Some are very sensitive though. I know my workplace had to fix this once after police kept getting called when the air conditioning turned on and moved papers around on desks.
