Low tier Vega is slightly faster than GTX 1070. Add to it freesync and it performs very close to GTX 1080. Next Vega is 1080 performance. Highest Vega is 1080Ti. Vega rules because its basically equal to novidia or slightly slower but with freesync support. Source: my ass. Believe it or not.

Waiting to see how good RX vega is as i'd really like to have an all-AMD 4k build. My trusty 290x has served me well for years but its no 4k card outside of a ludicrous overclock and medium settings at a 30fps lock.

If the RX PCB is the same as FE PCB if sapphire straight up slaps their fury tri-c cooler on it on it it would be a monster. In fact assuming FE PCB = RX PCB you'd want to actively buy reference pcb cards precisely because you can't really get much better sensibly but you can easily cheap out and make a worse board.
