OS for new PC ?

Which OS would you chose for a new PC ?

I need to run programs like Photoshop, ZBrush, SAI, Corel Painter, Premiere etc.

Can I use my trusty Win-7 on a brand new computer? What is it about the Linux meme? Will Win-10 terribly destroy my life and send all my pizza to the CIA?

Just installed 7 on Ryzen. Comfy.

Avoid 10.

I think I know this girl

>avoid 10

Stop with this meme, 10 is so much better than 7. Fixes literally every problem 7 had.

Win 7 will still be good until 2020 when they shut down support. There's no reason not to use win 7 and then keeping it around as a backup if you upgrade to win 10 later.

From high school, right?

>Fixes literally every problem 7 had
please elaborate

What problems?

...

Kind of.

How much are they paying you Pajeet? It's not enough.

Aside from the very one privacy issues, its still buggy as fuck. The taskbar will overlap full screen applications occasionally, the start menu is a fucking mess and you NEED classic shell to make it usable, the random ass notification bar on the bottom right and I could go on and on

Is it useable? Sure, with lots of tinkering and customization.. but recommending it to people is fucking retarded

7 was damn near perfect. Only thing I miss from 10 is the sleek black theme taskbar

>windows aero and the clusterfuck that whole thing was
>compatibility for older programs
>themes and backgrounds fucking up every time you launch something
>Missing explorer folders when using a NAS
>Task manager (W10's is much better)
>clunky ui
>CHECKING FOR UPDATES fix
>general bug fixes are faster to come out, as well as better.

That's just what I remember off the top of my head.

Mark my words kike: The oven will rise again!

Give it a few years, you'll be saying 10 is better than 7. Problem is, you just have to wait until you grow up to realize that.

You have to go back

Wow, it's fucking nothing

None of those are actual issues or are highly subjective

>desperate shit points

You could have at least prepared a little better points instead of this shallow, subjective trash. No dreidel time for you tonight Shlomo.

You might want to look up what the word "issue" means in a dictionary. Just for clarification sake.

OP here.

I'm glad you're having a nice banter, but could someone please help me with my original questions?

>Photoshop, ZBrush, SAI, Corel Painter, Premiere
Will these run on any Linux version or OS other than Windows?

Just get rid of all pizza and pirate 10, it gets comfy af once you brutally murder Cortana.

TempleOS or Gentoo

You can't Photoshop and Premiere on Linux.
>Muh Wine
No, it doesn't work.

Stick on your favorite Windows flavor (personally Win10, but 7 and 8.1 do the trick too)

Thanks. Then I have no choice anyway. 7 it is.

You have a nice sister. Why she's naked on the photo?

Looking for comfy and have Intel? Hackintosh.

Otherwise 8.1

Good choice

for a new PC, Arch linux

lmao
>knowing girls

Do they pay you by post or by (you)?

>aero
had no problems with it at all.

>compatibility
honestly had worse experiences in W10

>themes crashing
never happened to me

>task manager
I can agree with this, but nothing to dictate switching to 10

>clunky ui
are you fucking kidding me? ever since Metro UI nothing has been good

>checking for updates fix
okay, yes, I have had issues with 7 checking forever, but at least it gives you a fucking option to not install them without having to use 3rd party software

>general bug fixes are faster to come out
you mean 10 has more bugs to release fixes for?

Seriously I can deny everything on that list (except for the NAS one since I've never used one), 7 is in every way superior, the only good thing that 10 has that 7 doesn't is DX12 but for most games I haven't even seen much of an increase in performance using DX12 anyway.

You should try it some time user. Mother and sister don't count.

>okay, yes, I have had issues with 7 checking forever, but at least it gives you a fucking option to not install them without having to use 3rd party software
you can get security-only rollup updates from here, ez-pz

lol wut? xddd

What updates to avoid on fresh Win 7 ?

Dual boot Windows 10 and a GNU/Linux distro of your choice (can't go wrong with Mint desu)

>suggestions include windows 10 and linux mint
5/5

>dualboot

Is it fucking 2009 or something something? The correct answer is to run a Windows VM with pcie pass through

>Stick on

Fucking pajeet english fuck off cunt

Who is the 2/10 qt 3.14

I only ever had problems on clean installs. After about an hour or so of checking and maybe a reboot it always starts checking and from then on I never have issues with it.

It may fix old ones, but who cares if it literally introduces new ones?

install win10 ltsb. you will find it maximum comfy. dont install linux if you use the programs for earning a living. linux is still pretty behind in providing a unified experience desktops need. it is perfectly fine for servers though.

7 has no problems

Fuck you
