Since too many people use Firefox bc they think it's safer (this is false if you don't tweak) I'll recommend what you should do in about:config
beacon.enabled to false media.peerconnection.enabled to false loop.enabled to false toolkit.telemetry.archive.enabled to false toolkit.telemetry.enabled to false toolkit.telemetry.unified to false datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled to false datareporting.policy.dataSubmissionEnabled to false browser.send_pings - false browser.send_pings.require_same_host - to true toolkit.telemetry.server - delete browser.selfsupport.url - delete address or replace with '' ''' network.prefetch-next - to true webgl.disabled - to true dom.battery.enabled - to false network.prefetch-next - false browser.safebrowsing.downloads.enabled - to false browser.safebrowsing.downloads.remote.enabled - to false browser.safebrowsing.enabled - to false browser.safebrowsing.maleware.enabled - to false
Of those only beacon, media p2p and webgl can't be controlled from settings and are enabled by default.
loop.enabled doesn't even exist, because Hello support was pulled in version 49. Many of these settings are redundant and the list has been compiled by someone who doesn't understand what they are doing.

if you don't trust him you can check the documentation for all tose flags and see what they do ;)

>disabling safebrowsing >2017 are you serious? or maybe you don't understand how it works?
it doesn't send your urls or content anywhere, it just downloads a huge list of hashes to locally compare downloaded files against
Daniel Ward
Both of those links are extremely outdated and aren't relevant today.
Jose Reed
>Both of those links are extremely outdated >according to me >disabling safebrowsing that string is not disabling safebrowsing you leftist stupid autist you are simply disabling google safebrowsing
Brandon King
>July 24th, 2017 >STILL using Firefox what the fuck?
Josiah Cooper
>look everyone I'm projecting, the post what does this have to do with politics you retard?
> you are simply disabling google safebrowsing yes, and that's exactly what it does
Matthew Cruz
And according to some anonymous faggot, an 2011 article if still relevant. What's your point? WebGL has been made much safer by njewia/ayymd, with latest drivers it's not an issue anymore. The burden of proof is on you.
Jace Martinez
that's wrong. Plus safebrowsing is spyware
Firefox has a feature called “safe browsing” which reports information about your browsing to Google. This “feature” can be turned off by going to Tools > Options, clicking the Security tab, and unchecking “Block reported attack sites” and “Block reported web forgeries.”
>Note: The Safe Browsing feature in Firefox has been renamed to Phishing Protection, but it's still known as Safe Browsing internally. wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Safe_Browsing
In other words: safebrowsing disabled works but it won't redirect you to google servers, it works by blocking cookies which is the only thing you need
Why in this world would you use safebrowsing? Do at your own risk

Why would anyone disable safebrowsing, when it's generally addition to ad blocker, as it compare URLs to local database?
Please reply, but only in logical way, as according to Mozilla, this anti-fishing protocol does regularly download a list of bad sites (using this protocol). It only contacts Google with site information when the user visits a site that is on the list. It does this in order to prevent false positives.
Noobs just get tor for anything you'd care so much about
TAILS + TOR => NSA watch list + privacy
Justin Evans
all webgl supported websites work wonderfully with this feature disabled in my 3 year old celeron shit notebook cpu

Hey I lost my father to a cod. Be respectful.

Sorry, but you're posting an article not updated from 2013, which is obsolate and not official (mozillazine.org, which is just public Mozilla Wiki).
According to Mozilla, this anti-fishing protocol does regularly download a list of bad sites (using this protocol). It ONLY CONTACTS Google with site information when the user visits a site that is on the list. It does this in order to prevent false positives.
There are two times when Firefox will communicate with Mozilla’s partners while using Phishing and Malware Protection for sites. The first is during the regular updates to the lists of reporting phishing and malware sites. No information about you or the sites you visit is communicated during list updates. The second is in the event that you encounter a reported phishing or malware site. Before blocking the site, Firefox will request a double-check to ensure that the reported site has not been removed from the list since your last update. This request does not include the address of the visited site, it only contains partial information derived from the address. "

But you won't see any WebGL features, as you disable it... I use it without any issues, mostly games.
Brandon Watson
>Sorry, but you're posting an article not updated from 2013 because that's the latest version of the google anti-phishing feature (v4 updated in 2013)
You would know it if you weren't a leftist redditor trash, but your brain simply follow this rule:
1) Google protection (oy vey very good thank you google xD) 2) Oh Firefox enables google superior protection! I love free software I love this small company I love those dedicated coders :} 3) I don't care if google tracks my urls to check their blacklist database because it protects me. 4) What if google don't update their engine since 2013? What matters is that I'm protected ;)

trips demands you tell us what you use
Joseph Ward
To be honest i trust that other user more than you. You seem immature and retarded.

No arguments, emotes, offensive leftist trash talk and whining about redtards. Ohhh, forgot that it's summer.
I just wanted simple the logical reply, seems I won't get one from you.

Open your firefox type about:config
See? v4 >b-but not updated since 2013 so that means I'm protected in 2017 and your argument is 2013 AHAHAHAHA :D
Daniel Garcia
>being an exit node for pedophiles

So you believe outdated information on not official website (MozillaZine Wiki, which is public wiki and everyone can edit it), instead of public official Mozilla statement that you're wrong. Kids this days and their blog information and YT movies with yellow subtitles.

>We are currently working on integrating V4 in our code base with a incremental approach. That is, we will be landing V4 patches progressively and leave the V2 stack up and running until the V4 is extensively tested and the Shavar server has been upgraded to V4. In other words, V2 and V4 will co-exist for a while to ensure we don't break Safe Browsing

>The phishing protection engine didn't change since 2013 >v4 is the latest update running on the latest version of firefox >it works today exactly like 3 years ago B-BUT >There are no any privacy or security issues when you use Safe Browsing. If it is, just report the bug on the Bugzilla. Phishing protection works by comparing two urls - the one you visit with the one on google's database
You don't even understand what ''fishing'' is. Leftist kids should just stay quiet and don't leave reddit.
Charles Evans
>he thinks phishing protection is broken due to a bug not due to how it works (that is, by using google's database) You are the typical american leftist: dumb and proud.
Carter Green
Spoofing is a thing.
Brody Hughes
NO URL IS SEND TO GOOGLE, except the one already on the list for statistic and telemetry reasons.
